Imagine what Krugman’s and Frank Rich’s columns must look like before they’re vetted.

The NY Times is clearly a Bush puppet, and the Bush secret police didn’t even have to come and make them remove the line at gunpoint (like they’re known to do).

RightWinged on January 16, 2007 at 2:50 PM

Vett, schmett.

The NYTimes is chomping at the bit to emulate the hate speech and violent screams rampant at huffpo, dailykos, C&L, et al.

locomotivebreath1901 on January 16, 2007 at 3:00 PM

I guess the Slimes doesn’t have the courage of their convictions. If you believe it, stand behind it. If it’s what you really think then leave it in, don’t get cowardly and edit.

Yeah, rightwinged, maybe Rove in a new Arafat scarf and a loaded Ak-47 paid Sulzberger a visit….you never know..

ritethinker on January 16, 2007 at 3:04 PM

CENSORSHIP! 1ST AMENDMENT! I am outraged.

Wade on January 16, 2007 at 3:06 PM

And what was the offending line? “Which is another reason to ask: Who will hang George Bush?”

I could swear this is not the first air-brushed NYT’s op-ed in which Bush’s death is wished for…wasn’t there one a couple of years ago too?

Topsecretk9 on January 16, 2007 at 3:09 PM

See, we told you the Times was a rightwing newspaper. Why else wouldn’t they publish that?

JammieWearingFool on January 16, 2007 at 3:20 PM

And these are the people who filter , and to a large degree, control the news and its dissemination, and the debates on subject of importance to this nation and its people.

I was watching C-SPAN this morning — by the way, what the hell happened to them? — and it was a reporter from the Washington Post on, a.k.a. the New York Times evil twin. The discussion was on the upcoming Libby trial, and the fact that a section was being specially reserved for bloggers. The reporter and the host downplayed this event and its potential importance in quite the arrogant and condescending tone. The basic gist being that bloggers have no credibility anyway.

Talk about living in bizarro world. Whether or not bloggers have any credibility, or the right to have their own section at the trial, is for the New York Times, Washington Post and their ilk decide?

tomk59 on January 16, 2007 at 3:26 PM

Imagine what Krugman’s and Frank Rich’s columns must look like before they’re vetted.

…imagine what their seats look/feel like when they write them…what’s a ‘w’ in ‘vetted’?

Entelechy on January 16, 2007 at 3:31 PM

A better question (2 questions, actually): “Who will hang Pinch Sulzberger for treason, and when?”

georgej on January 16, 2007 at 3:33 PM

Yep….and ol King George said the pampleteers were unimportant.

So here is to all the ‘pampleteers‘…THANKS!

Limerick on January 16, 2007 at 3:51 PM

i know i know ‘pamphleteers’….thick fingers to go with my think brain

Limerick on January 16, 2007 at 3:52 PM

The sick part is that they’ve got a market for this stuff.

Iblis on January 16, 2007 at 4:04 PM

I kinda wish we could get the unedited versions of the other columns.

One Angry Christian on January 16, 2007 at 4:07 PM

Someone needs to be arrested. Communicating and condoning threats against the President? It’s time to reign this shiite in!

Mazztek on January 16, 2007 at 4:12 PM

-Someone needs to be arrested-

You are right, Mazztek,. Someone DOES need to be arrested. George W. Bush. Rumsfeld, Rice, and Tenet. Probably Cheney. Who else? All the neo-cons who got the war criminal elected the first time (2004, I mean). Bill Kristol for supporting him. Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council. Hmmm. That should do it for now. That would probably put this country back on course. Oh. The Fox guy who became the puppet (I mean, voice) of the White House, because he sold out.

shackler on January 16, 2007 at 4:19 PM

Msg to shackler.

Go to hell, moron.

georgej on January 16, 2007 at 4:28 PM

Shackler’s got a point. If you find someone with which you disagree and cannot muzzle or edit, have them arrested…you may have to wait until you gain power to do so, and then build goulags to hold them in…maybe purge the whole country by arresting and either killing or “re-educating” them. Sound familiar?

stonemeister on January 16, 2007 at 4:38 PM

Why is it that the leftards who march and chant for “constitutional rights” all have these fascist “imprison all my political opponents” masturbation fantasies?

Could they be… hypocrites???

Spiny Norman on January 16, 2007 at 4:39 PM

You can only be shown to be a hypocrite if you maintain an accurate and complete history. Whenever leftists/marxists/fascits come into power, they have a tendency to airbrush historical records to avoid confusions with hypocrisy…or any other confusions from which the masses may suffer.

stonemeister on January 16, 2007 at 4:41 PM

Well Schackler, what is there to say? What would you have done differently or better yet your boy Al Gore or John Fing Kerry? I am glad that you think you’re so high and mighty. In reality, you’re just a sad individual who because you find people who you disagree with you want them in jail. In reality it’s the reverse of what Mazztek said but you believe you’re oh so eloquent. Don’t know why you hate those with whom you disagree with, maybe you had an unappy childhood or maybe you’re not fulfilled in your life today since you harbor such hatred towards those with whom you disagree. Either way, you’re a pathetic individual who should be pitied. Yes, pitied for the hateful person you are. I don’t know why the libs cannot have a reasonable conversation with people without resorting to name calling and ready with warrants for arrest.

Catie96706 on January 16, 2007 at 4:49 PM

“Who will hang George Bush?”

Well, gee, is this a trick question, Mr. Lenin?

Ok, well then, “whomever shall manage to get him indicted on, and a jury to find him guilty of, a capital crime.”

See? Not so hard, was it?

mojo on January 16, 2007 at 4:54 PM

I don’t dislike those I disagree with. My dad is a conservative. Don’t hate him. Don’t hate you guys, though you come up with some interesting names for liberals like myself. Don’t hate O’Reilly or Hannity. What do I hate? Oh yeah, WAR MONGERS. I hate those who propagate war as a political end. I hate those that support war mongers. I hate people who believe that war solves the world’s problem. I hate those who propagate war on behalf of the American people. I hate people who destroy our international cridibility by advancing war. I could support the Afghan conflict. I was in New York on 9/11 and watched the terrible destruction from my living room. I believed, as I still do, that Afghanistan should have been turned into a glowing glass parking lot. Good riddance. But then came Iraq, and all the war monger neo-conservative christian fundamentalists decided that a war with Iraq would fulfill biblical prophecy . And they pushed in on the world. And now our diplomatic efforts are in shambles, the world hates us, and the cost in American and Iraqi lives is incalculable. I don’t want goulags for conservatives. I want them for war mongers. Lock them up and never let them see the light of day again. Just desserts.

Seconded. You whining little carnival freak child.

Sedition: an illegal action inciting resistance to lawful authority and tending to cause the disruption or overthrow of the government

Who will hang George W. Bush?

So, they take it out of the American editions, but leave it in the foreign editions.

In 2000 and 2004, you could not win atthe polls, so instead of actually offering alternatives, you resort to: “I wish he was dead!”

Why is it that the leftards who march and chant for “constitutional rights” all have these fascist “imprison all my political opponents” masturbation fantasies? Could they be… hypocrites???

Of course. So far, no one has been arrested for seditious acs against the government. They HIDE behind “freedom of speech.” Pull that CRAP anywhere else but America, they’d be DEAD.

Mazztek on January 16, 2007 at 5:41 PM

I beg to differ, Shackler. I doubt your father is a conservative and if he is you probably despise him. That being said, Mazztek is absolutely right. You hate it so much, go to Iran. Try speaking out there and well you won’t be heard from again. It’s your choice, be thankful for freedom of speech and remember it goes both ways. We have to put up with your crap nonstop, all the time from people like you who have no answers just “I hate Bush, I hate war” ad nauseum. Glad you weren’t around during WW 2 or we’d be typing this in German or where I live in Japanese.

Catie96706 on January 16, 2007 at 5:48 PM

Wouldn’t it be great if far left wing kooks like shackler hated terrorists half as much as they hate Republicans?

Capitalist Infidel on January 16, 2007 at 5:48 PM

Shackler has a point guys, what war has solved political problems. Just take the Israeli/Palestinian problem for instance. It’s easy to see peace-talks have worked wonders in this part of the world. Slavery, there is another problem that was solved by peace-talks. If the North hadn’t sat down with the South and convinced them that slavery was wrong we could have had a bloody Civil War. Just think, if Chamberlain hadn’t been able to talk Hitler down, well, you can just imagine the mess the entire world would have been in. Italy, same thing. Benito would have sided up to Adolph and run roughshod over Europe. Imperialism? Thank God we negotiated with Japan before they could launch an attack or join with Germany and Italy to form the Axis. The Soviets. Thank God Ronald Reagan tore down our military and de-escalated the arms-race or the entire world would have been destroyed with a nuclear holocaust. Thank God Reagan didn’t do something silly like call the USSR the Evil Empire. Can you imagine if Reagan had put Pershing missiles in the European theatre what massive atrocities would have occured? The Taliban? Thank God Jimmy Carter was around to negotiate a treaty with these guys. He was able to get us the same deal he got us with N. Korea……

Shackler, my friend, war-monger is such a cliche, a left-over from the 60′s. No one on this list, nor in this administration is a war-monger. No one wants war. But you know the sad reality is that this world is inhabited with human-kind. This being the case, wars are unfortunately going to be one of the side-effects of human behavior. You do not want to be on the side that refuses to acknowledge this reality. For if you remian naive and continue to seek peaceful solutions to problems that are caused by those with evil intent, then your reality will be a tragically short-lived one. As the great Ronaldus Magnus stated, it is peace through strength. Just think about buddy……

ritethinker, what a beautiful effort, in style, and with excellent and undeniable examples of history and human nature.

The paper screen you wrote it on is patiently and enduringly reflecting upon your effort, and thanks you.

Shackler did not mention Haliburton. Just what kind of dumbo libbie bibbie bastard is he anyway?

Is Shackler against global warming? Someone ask him about global warming.

As Spurius Ligustinus quoted so aptly on the Messiah thread:

I went to bed that night and slept the sleep of the saved and the thankful.”

Thanks Entelechy, appreciate the compliment. Just hoping our buddy Shackler sticks around….he could use a little conservative thought right now….

ritethinker on January 16, 2007 at 7:48 PM

Bush Lies. I eats pies.

I didn’t know he was a criminal. I would ask why they don’t just arrest him, but then I think of Jefferson from New Orleans, and I really can’t argue.

Ringmaster on January 16, 2007 at 8:13 PM

SHACKLER….

As a certified war-monger could you please forward a first class ticket to me. Thank you.

Proud family of war-mongers request special consideration in applying for the Shackler GoooooooLag. Family guilty of the following offenses; Belleu Wood, Makin Atoll, Guadalcanal, Bouganville, Saipan, 38th Parallel, Tet, Fall of Saigon, Panama, Baghdad, Tal Afar. Sorry we set out the First Gulf War, but maybe that will mean a little clemency huh? Currently have war-monger driving a M1A2 Abrams around squishing babies. Please help.

Limerick on January 16, 2007 at 8:40 PM

I guess I should probably stop driving my tank to the office downtown – would hate for people to think I’m a warmonger.

Rick on January 17, 2007 at 12:00 AM

Oh, and by the way, shackler, I’m still waiting for your response to my question over at the millenium bomber thread. Whenever you’re ready, feel free.

Rick on January 17, 2007 at 12:25 AM

Ritethinker, you have good points. I don’t dispute the value of war. If you had read my whole posting (which conservatives rarely like to do) you could understand that. Most of your examples were accurate. I do love, however, how war monger neo-cons love throwing around the cold-war. They cite an arms race as proof that war solves problems. THE COLD-WAR ENDED BECAUSE OF DIPLOMACY. Remember all the sit downs between our guy and their guy? Not a shot fired. Talking saved the day. But, you could never concede that one of your conservative heroes believed in diplomacy. I think the whole right-wing would melt away if they did that. Gotta save face. Anyways, the Iraq war was a disaster. He was of no threat to us. Conservatives are more of a threat to national security than Iraq was. But, keep on believing guys. Facts mean little to the right. Why should they? When you hate America as much as you do, why would you let facts get in the way of destroying her?

shackler on January 17, 2007 at 2:52 PM

I think I’ve got it now, shackler is trying to switch the arguments on us (conservatives are: threat to national security, hate the rule of law, ignore the facts, etc.) – so, that makes us the “liberals” in shackler’s world.

Rick on January 17, 2007 at 3:46 PM

Oh yeah, I almost forgot “conservatives hate America”.

Rick on January 17, 2007 at 3:48 PM

shackler on January 17, 2007 at 2:52 PM

We are all “war monger neo-cons” nice choice of words, did you make those up…just kidding you took them off of a website, I have seen these for about six months.

The cold war was won because of first our build up of arms, remember Reagan and his military budget all of the liberals hated? It won the cold war without a shot, but it did not take out the “bad boys”. Now shackler, here come a quiz…what evil dictator or communist/marxist was removed without firing a shot?

And thanks for letting us know we all hate America, we all want America to burn, so our kids can live in misery, we all want to pollute America because we want our kids to die, we all fight wars to let our children live in communistic misery. The problem is, that statement is your most intelligent comment.

right2bright on January 17, 2007 at 4:01 PM

right2bright, I wasn’t going to get into pollution. I am glad you admitted to your desire to let our children live in polluted squallor. At least the conservatives are no longer in power. Maybe there is hope in saving the country now.
