And takes yet another shot at the military, asserting that blacks joining the service is the “epitome of what [King] was against” — before catching himself and specifying that “unnecessary violence” is the epitome he had in mind, not enlistment.

He resubmitted his bill to reinstate the draft a few days ago. Prospects of passage: dim.

In keeping with the finest tradition of MLK, I shall judge Rangel on the content of his character rather than the color of his skin. So, let me judge. Rangel has consistently insulted the military, the very people defending our freedom. He consistently plays the race card, calls the VP an SOB, and coddles tyrants like Chavez. Therefore the judgment is in, Rangel is the worst character with the worst character. This man is a villian, a no-class, race-baiting, hate-filled little man with nothing to offer his fellow man but bitterness and insults. There, the man has been judged…………

ritethinker on January 15, 2007 at 12:44 PM

The Democrats have some real winners in leadership positions.

forest on January 15, 2007 at 12:46 PM

LOL… I bet MLK would have bitch slapped Rangle… he is the epitome of what MLK was against.

IMO MLK wanted to get beyond Race, to judge a man by the content of his character, not the color of his skin….

Can’t do that when everything you say and think is tainted by Race politics.

Romeo13 on January 15, 2007 at 12:46 PM

Yeah, I saw this on Fox this AM. I about feel off my chair!

It seems to me this jerk WANTED to get the word “lynch” into his rhetoric today and this was a perfect opportunity.

If Saddam was lynched, Byron De La Beckwith was railroaded.

csdeven on January 15, 2007 at 12:49 PM

One of the problems in a democracy is that we get the leadership we deserve. When are we going to wake up and get rid of loser like Rangel? At least McKinney was retired by the good people of Georgia. Chuck’s district needs to follow suit.

I wish this guy would just STFU. All he is doing is giving support to the enemy.

While people such as Rangel and Jesse Jackson claim to want a colorless society, they find it impossible to open their mouths without relating pretty much every detail in life to color.

When a white person comments on color … it’s called “racism.”

When an African-American comments on color … it’s called “race baiting” by whites, and “truth” by blacks.

Whites are so fearful of calling them on it, that they use a made-up, politically correct term to describe it.

I truly believe that 90% of the racists in America are African-American. Rangel, Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, and Cynthia McKinney are by far the worst examples of color blindness in America. They open their eyes in the morning and see everything in black and white.

I guess that’s their idea of a “colorless society.”

Gregor on January 15, 2007 at 1:18 PM

Charlie Rangel hasn’t changed much, and I hope he never does. He’s been an admirer, apologist, and chief spokesman for America’s enemies right along. I just wish it wasn’t my tax dollars paying his way. But then again, most elected democrats love Islamofascists more than America. Makes me wonder where the democrat party is heading?

byteshredder on January 15, 2007 at 1:25 PM

when I was younger MLK Day was a day to strive to improve race relations, to remember a great man and to push for the fullest realization of his dream
As an adult the day is apparently a day to attack republicans and use racially charged words and phrases in situations no sane person would use them in all for the benefit of race hustlers and liberals

Defector01 on January 15, 2007 at 1:32 PM

This is a real insult to blacks who 60 years ago had to fight for the right to serve in combat in the military…though its funny that the only place the left dosn’t want to see more blacks employed by is the US military..lets be honest a young black man or woman serving in the military is safer than staying in some of the inter cities in this country(Ran by Dems).

What MLK would have really hated is people like Rangel, Waters, Jackson, et al, promoting division instead of the colorblind society King worked towards. That Rangel even attempts to speak for Martin Luther King makes me sick.

Glynn on January 15, 2007 at 2:12 PM

MLK, if he could look back, would be very sad. All his difficult efforts have resulted in the Black leaders of today: Rangel, Jackson, Sharpton and Farrakhan…

fogw, durnit, you were right the first time :)

Entelechy on January 15, 2007 at 2:25 PM

Sorry Charlie, you sound stupid.

“Last night I heard the President say mistakes were made.”
What a revelation, mistakes in war and life!?!? No way! Of course being the perfect person I can see why you’d criticize.

Saddam Lynching, I must have missed the video of Saddam being captured from his spider palace and hung from the nearest tree with no trial. Or was Saddam dragged from his cell before his trail and hung? Video of this would be great so I can keep history straight. What a revisionist, he must work for Clinton PT.

VikingGoneWild on January 15, 2007 at 2:40 PM

Again, I am staggered at the low quality of American politicians. Like Barney Frank, this is another goon that should be driving buses, not making decisions that affect the world.

uptight on January 15, 2007 at 2:54 PM

It would not be a liberal MLK celebration without talks of lynching and the “Plantation” if you know what I mean (Hillary does).

wRangel, one of the best the left has to offer. How fortunate that they have him.
I will just pick out one point. The blacks not getting the education.
Who has ran the inner city school districts for the past 40 years? Democrats, virtually every major city is ran by the democrats and they have done nothing to help the minorities. Keeping them uneducated is their way of controlling them.

right2bright on January 15, 2007 at 3:51 PM

right2bright on January 15, 2007 at 3:51 PM

True, and this is why they attack anyone – such as Bill Cosby – whenever they should dare to suggest a better path.

Gregor on January 15, 2007 at 4:05 PM

That is a perfect example, Cosby, the chosen one, was chopped apart. And Condi, a perfect example of what they could be.

Gregor on January 15, 2007 at 4:05 PM

Too true – but extend this to all peoples, especially during the last two generations.

Most don’t even know why MLK day is celebrated – let alone Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Washington’s (or Lincoln’s) birthdays – and might just tell you that Canada is the 51st state.

The dumbing down of America has practically become a true reality – in part thanks to such as Rangel and Jackson. They may be proud of themselves for they were used in the worst way as willing pawns sacrificed for larger goals than they could have ever realized – and all of our people suffered.

The results – you see them every day around you.

Rangels slime ball expression when he says “lynching” indicates that it was no slip of the tongue.

When I looked closely it all makes sense- Charlie Mangle looks like Sadaam Huesein – Maybe they are brothers or cousins! LOL

No, MLK would have sold out, just like Je$$e, Al and Rangel….
