Like the man says: well, yeah. But how often do you hear someone on their side admit it?
For old times’ sake. Mission accomplished.

They only know how to raise taxes, wear tin foil, and hate president Bush.

Wow. A Dem strategist who has no strategy. And admits it! Maybe the dems will take a lesson from the Sunnis in Anbar that have realized that their base is also insane and dangerous. NAH!
Guardian on January 15, 2007 at 9:35 PM
It is proven once again that KP thinks.
I will still fight you for her AP. ;-) She would then have to move to Vegas though, there is no way I’d move to NY.
TwinkietheKid on January 15, 2007 at 9:35 PM
Methinks Ms. Powers will have her DNC credentials pulled momentarily.
MCPO Airdale on January 15, 2007 at 9:36 PM
Notice how KP’s smile is brighter, her hair is livelier?
Something good is happening. AP, as the Beach Boys say, keep the good vibrations goin’.
kevcad on January 15, 2007 at 9:39 PM
I wonder if she is in the minority?
Kini on January 15, 2007 at 9:42 PM
I still wanna know why AP cooled on KP :P
lorien1973 on January 15, 2007 at 9:45 PM
Of course the Democrats have a policy to deal with terrorism! Isn’t surrender a policy?

I’m not sure why KP is a democrat. The republicans today are closer to the democrats of Kennedy’s day than the socialistic, greedy scum that control Congress these days. I admire her honesty and willingness to brave the wrath of the lunatic left for speaking her mind.
KP is no democrat … an independent maybe, but no democrat.
darwin on January 15, 2007 at 9:51 PM
…the Dems don’t have a policy to fight terror?
…the Dems don’t want to fight terror? wait, they, (Pelosi) don’t even believe this is a WoT, or
…is this a big rabbit?
Entelechy on January 15, 2007 at 9:58 PM
Well I wish Michelle would have “The Vent” with KP, Shawn & MK on again. I like KP, as she is someone who does think and maybe if she thinks about it hard enough she’ll come in from the cold.
Don’t know about the KP and AP situation but love is often fickle. However, often times a few months later a spark lights a flame again.
Catie96706 on January 15, 2007 at 10:00 PM
zzzinnnngggg
sometimes it seems like Fox has a conservative bias, but then articulate impasssioend strong liberal thinkers like KP remind me that idea is ludicrous.

AP must have been told to simma-down. poor guy, that just means they like it.
Jared_MA on January 15, 2007 at 10:15 PM
Aw, KP, I know you are upset… here, let me give you a hug…
Mazztek on January 15, 2007 at 10:24 PM
The slow boat appears to be right on schedule.
Kid from Brooklyn on January 15, 2007 at 10:27 PM
First KP, next ???
Savor each victory as they come, gents.
Timothy S. Carlson on January 15, 2007 at 10:42 PM
Wow, KP is pretty hot when she’s disappointed.
Kralizec on January 15, 2007 at 11:30 PM
I was thinking the the same thing… I think she’s starting to see the light as well. She’s experiencing discomforting enlightenment. Good morning sunshine!
x95b10 on January 15, 2007 at 11:34 PM
She is just too darned pretty to be a Democrat. That’s all there is to it.
Glynn on January 15, 2007 at 11:44 PM
The fact that she admits it doesn’t mean it isn’t disgraceful.
freakagriep on January 16, 2007 at 12:08 AM
I know a lot of conservatives that could take a lesson in moderation and reasoned thinking from KP.
csdeven on January 16, 2007 at 12:12 AM
I believe she spoke ‘truth to power!’
Griz on January 16, 2007 at 12:14 AM
KP has a functioning conscience, that’s what makes her different from 99% of the Democrats. She still has a bit of de-brainwashing to go about the Left’s supposedly “good intetions”, but she’s well on the way to the inner peace and freedom that comes from seeing the Left for the evil that it is. You go, girl.
Halley on January 16, 2007 at 1:12 AM
She’s just hot!
Jim-Rose on January 16, 2007 at 1:17 AM
AP, you and KP on good terms again??
As for what KP said, I find it interesting that she came out and said that the Dems have no plan - period (other than Teddy’s plan to retreat, surrender and leave those poor people alone). She will get slammed hard by the lefties (I think they already questioned her lefty credentials anyway - this will just affirm their doubts).
Rick on January 16, 2007 at 1:31 AM
I caught the segment on the rerun tonight - KP said that one thing (yes, it was impactful and she’ll be hated) but most of the credit should go to Laura Schwartz, who usually is all leftie-leftie and tonight said some pretty tough things on the policy and against Boxer.
Entelechy on January 16, 2007 at 1:36 AM
Was there anything going on between AP and KP ever? I just always thought he maybe had a crush on her or something and that’s it.
emmaline1138 on January 16, 2007 at 1:42 AM
Not to turn it into some gossip item or anything. I was just wondering.
emmaline1138 on January 16, 2007 at 1:44 AM
She is going to get shellacked by her fellow libs for this. She’s right, of course.
WisCon on January 16, 2007 at 2:01 AM
I think they (and myself) are jealous of AP because he has met her personally.
A most unusual think is an honest Democrat.
hillbillyjim on January 16, 2007 at 2:22 AM
C’mon, Allahbabe, she doesn’t count–don’t you know that people who go on O’Reilly and, you know, smile at him and speak reasonably to Michelle now and then aren’t real Democrats?
Just ask the Democrats.
Anwyn on January 16, 2007 at 2:48 AM
How dare anyone accuse the Party of Rabid Anger of not having a policy on Iraq. They don’t have one, of course, but…….how dare anyone accuse them. Republicans are to be accused–even when not guilty. Democrats are to be fawned over, kissed up to, etc.
Haven’t you people gotten The Message? Don’t you watch CNN?
They do have a strategy. If you have a good strategy, maybe you don’t need no stinkin’ policy. The strategy, of course, is to bitch and criticize while waiting and hoping for the Bush policy to fail.
You don’t need to watch the MSM: read the troll-rantings of honora and JaHerrer22, and assorted others on this blog
It got them control of both houses of Congress, didn’t it?

Sadly it’s the Commander in Chief, “The Decider” that has NO PLAN, since mission accomplished. The Dems not having a plan does not bother me. Who cares what she said. Powers, is intellectually honest. She’s NOT in LOCK-Step with the Dem party. There will be no backlash. The “plan” is to get the hell out. I know the world will end if we do that. Prove it. More fear mongering. The cheerleaders need a reality check. For the love of God & Country, stop the madness. Winning? Iraq a stable democracy, pro-America would be fantastic dream come true! Blaming the Dem’s = Liberal = bad / evil stereotype is ridiculous. It may make you feel better, totally unencumbered by the thought process and focusing on Powers, but it changes nothing. Does Bush think we had a lobotomy? There’s a full blown Iraq Civil War (according to Bolton, former UN ambassador for the USA who must be a crazy raging liberal).
The Dems don’t have a plan? It’s like the Hindenburg in flames and saying, see the Dems don’t know how to put it out either. Who cares. It’s like the guy on the freeway who pulled over and opened his door and lost his arm, screaming out, Oh no, my rear view mirror is broken! Possibly the biggest blunder of our nations history, built on faults pretence, followed by endless mistakes and tragic devastating loss of America’s reputation, standing, treasure and life, and you’re worried about what Powers says! Se Ya, I got to go watch Bill-O.
gmcjetpilot on January 16, 2007 at 3:53 AM
She agrees…but she invoked the swimmer in the same breath.
Damn it. I almost reached nirvana.
Black Adam on January 16, 2007 at 4:23 AM
Right. This is why the world is now laying its problems on China’s doorstep. They’ve got mad, mistake free standing and no “faults pretences”. QED.
Well, it was fun being on top while it lasted.
Pablo on January 16, 2007 at 6:58 AM
Oh man, she’s screwed! As if she wasn’t already an outcast from her own party, she really put the nail in the coffin with that one.
That said, I suggest you get some conservative body guards KP… I know there are plenty of folks here willing to help.

It’s interesting to watch the transformation of a human being live on TV over several months. It’s quite unnoticable from week to week but if ya think back a few months, it seems KP is leaning more and more to the center. Will we witness her cross the line live on TV? Will she leave the Dems and become and Indie? Maybe after a few years … dare I say it? Maybe she’ll put the dreaded (R) next to her name?
Isn’t it also interesting that she seems to get better looking as she moderates her position on the issues over time? Imagine how HOT she’ll be if she crosses over to the Pubbie side!
Either way’s fine though, she can stay a lib for all I care, it’s comforting to know that not ALL Dems are far left commie-lovin’ loony tune hippie traitors.
Tony737 on January 16, 2007 at 8:44 AM
I’ve never met her.

KP rawks!!
Don’t forget Lashawn! Lashawn rawks too.
vcferlita on January 16, 2007 at 8:56 AM
If the dems would all tell the truth, like KP, rather than think their job is to oppose everything from Republicans, this mess in Iraq would never of happened.
Wade on January 16, 2007 at 9:04 AM
Well, you’ll always have this AP.
I win this thread!
RightWinged on January 16, 2007 at 9:05 AM
Kirsten is right, and wrong, at the same time.
My Liberal Democrat friends see this “terrorism problem” as a law enforcement issue, not a military-war issue.
Effectively, they prefer we confront terrorism on our own shores with our police forces from a defensive posture. They believe it is wrong for our military to offensively confront terrorists in the countries where terrorist originate.
Lawrence on January 16, 2007 at 9:18 AM
hands down. not even our resident diety can top that one.
pullingmyhairout on January 16, 2007 at 9:39 AM
And Laura agreed, two talking demo heads agree that the demos don’t have a plan. I guess Biden isn’t considered a legitimate demo leader. Everyone has a suggestion, everyone has a critique, only Bush has a plan. A leader leads, everyone else gripes, whines, and complains.
right2bright on January 16, 2007 at 10:48 AM
I like KPow, always have(secretly), and I’ll give it to her that she will admit most things most dems won’t. But, lets be honest, it’s still grasping the obvious to say the dems don’t have a plan. Yeah, to the other guys on the list, surrender is their plan, quitting and claiming victory. But in the real sense of the dems having a policy to win in Iraq, forget about it…..
ritethinker on January 16, 2007 at 11:21 AM
You sort of lost your e-cred on that one.
WisCon on January 16, 2007 at 11:25 AM
What BS, of course the liberal dems have a “plan”, we have been SEEING IT for the last couple years.
RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND BEG THEM NOT TO HURT US…
NRA4Freedom on January 16, 2007 at 11:39 AM
I saw KP hosting a segment on Fox the other day. She was with that other female Democratic strategist, the one with the shortcut blonde hair, kind of snarky, who looks a lot like the Joker? They showed a clip of Ted Kennedy, the recent one where he declares that Iraq is George Bush’s Vietnam. After the clip,KP declared, and she wasn’t being sarcastic, ” wasn’t that refreshing”. To which the Joker replied,” wasn’t it though?” I lunged for the clicker.
The point? This is why I don’t try to turn anyone I read or see on the television into the physical embodiment of what I think and believe personally — sooner or later, you’re going to be disappointed. Judging from some of the starry eyed commentary on this thread, it seems to me that that’s what some of you have done.
Powers is indeed intelligent, and many times a refreshing change from the usual lockstep bombastic comments of other Democratic or Republican mouthpieces, but that doesn’t make her one of “you”, as if that was something important to even begin with.
tomk59 on January 16, 2007 at 12:02 PM
It’s wonderful to know that we have people that think like gmcjetpilot in control of Congress now.
Rick on January 16, 2007 at 12:43 PM
That’s it exactly. It’s unfair to say that the Dems don’t have a plan for Iraq. The truth is that they don’t have a plan for victory in Iraq. They have lots of plans to get out, and the only real debate among them seems to be how fast to do it. By all appearances, they show no concern for the consequences of a precipitous withdrawal, and quite frankly I think a great majority of them honestly don’t think there will be any adverse consequences to this country, only beneficial consequences to their political party. When the head of the House Intelligence Committee can’t tell the difference between Sunni and Shia five years after 9/11 (and I actually think Reyes seems like a pretty good guy), it demonstrates a complete lack of interest in the subject because they simply don’t think it’s a big deal for this country to get run out of Iraq with our tails between our legs. They can only see it as a political defeat for the Republicans. Unfortunately, as Mark Steyn has said, political parties don’t lose wars, nations lose wars.
Dudley Smith on January 16, 2007 at 1:19 PM
I agree with what you said. However, keep in mind that Bill O’s question not only included Iraq, but also the broader War on Terror. KP said no Dem plan for either (other than Teddy’s let’s get the hell out of Dodge plan). This is big because the Dems claim to be “tough” on National Security.
Rick on January 16, 2007 at 1:34 PM
Pilots, en ever-dwindling forum, are mystified again…
Entelechy on January 16, 2007 at 1:51 PM
Once again KP shows why she is one the VERY few dems I can respect. I may not agree with her politics, but she is honest and will answer a question.
