The Obamarama people actually wrangled an on-air correction for this out of the affiliate.
His face is onscreen for two seconds.

What’s up with that? They obviously cued the wrong footage.
Or, is it another stroke of genius from Rove? Hmmmmmmm?

I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. The libs didn’t even try to hide their public request for Hollywood to assist in ousting the GOP. With the rantings of Chris Mathews and keith olbermann, along with the works of Michael Moore and Bill Maher … we shouldn’t even try to hide it. It should be an all out declaration of war.

And here Id thought the most moronic issue would be this…

Nuclear Blast on TV’s ’24′ Causes Fallout for Fox
Critics Ask Whether the Show Is Feeding Terror Fears
Such is primetime television in the age of terrorism, or as some critics charge, has “24″ gone too far?
24″ is taken seriously by some serious folks. Last June the conservative Heritage Foundation hosted a panel called, “’24′ and America’s Image in Fighting Terrorism: Fact, Fiction or Does It Matter?” Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff participated.
“This television show is very political, and it’s no accident that it’s on Fox,” said Jhally, who directs the Media and Education Foundation and is professor of communications at University of Massachusetts. “Given their propaganda system, it doesn’t surprise me.”

Man, what can’t Rove do!?
And always the most disturbing part is the loonies at Obamarama insisting it’s “not a mistake!” F-ing idiots.
By the way, I see things like this happen ALMOST DAILY on Fox. Like on Fox & Friends where they jump around a lot, there will be a headline on the bottom of the screen like “New iPod Phone”, while they roll footage of a sex predator’s perp walk. Or a headline might say “Los Angeles’ Record Cold Temps”, while showing a picture of Dick Cheney worshipping Satan. It’s sometimes a slip in the control room that is almost always cut away from or the headline is dropped off the screen in a matter of seconds, but returns moments later as it is the next story to be discussed, and was just brought out to early the first time.
Now call me one sided, but this excuse can’t hold for the Cheney X situation, considering NO ONE (as far as I can tell) had ever see a giant X flash over someone’s face.

You’ve got to love ABC’s blatant disclosure of tonight’s ending. Do they feel we won’t watch it now?
Good luck.

We really are scraping the bottom of the barrell for news today!

I actually don’t blame Obama’a people for being annoyed by this. It reminds me of the skit (was it on the Daily Show?) where the letter “D” was put behind the names of many infamous characters, after a slip on Fox identifying Congressman Foley as a Dem.

That Roger Ailes, what a genius. Perhaps even Murdoch got in on this one. What does it say for Obama’s peoples belief in the intelligence of the American voter? Wow, a little on edge this early in the process, wait til the Clinton war-machine comes after him….speaking of which, where was Ickes and Carville on this one??????

The thing is that Tom Foley (D) was in the House for 3x as long as Mark Foley (R), and was the Speaker for 6 years. It’s understandable that someone makes that mistake. For example, if someone thought MO AG Jay Nixon were a RethugliKKKan, it would be a natural assumption.

And this surprises you? Imagine this were you, on your local TV station. You wouldn’t demand an on air explanation and apology? Yikes.
honora on January 16, 2007 at 10:09 AM
Honora, explanation for what exactly? I’ve seen at least a hundred-plus mistakes like this on news-coverage(local and national). It happens, and quite often. They cue the wrong video for the wrong story, that simple. Obama comes off looking petty and really insulting the peoples intelligence. It wasn’t a wise move on his part…the people are smart enough to figure this one out……
ritethinker on January 16, 2007 at 11:30 AM
When you make a mistake, you need to apologize to another who was hurt by that mistake. By explain, I mean an on-air explanation: “sorry, miscue, we apologize to Sen O and our viewers”. SOP at television stations for an error of this sort.

If the stattion does it, so be it, fine. But that’s not the point of this story. Why do you seem to have problems finding the point in most stories? Is this intentional, just want to be combative for the hell of it? Obama’s people made the effort to make sure the station apologized. This is silly, simple as that. This is reminiscent of the MoDo story where he let her have some words on his sensitivity to the size of his ears. Is this the stuff of presidents? He certainly appears to be extremely thin-skinned. Asking or demanding an apology for something this trivial is the whole point of the story….
