It’s like one of the parents said on the show, Google any of the 3 guys named and you will get 1000′s of pages to look at. What employer would hire these kids now? The DA is just that, a Dumb A$$ and he should have to pay for the rest of his life for what he did. The kids will pay for what DA did the rest of their lifes.

I’m just waiting for the outburst of media rage over the kidnapping, killing and rape of two young people that happened here … a week ago.

*crickets chirping*

Why the silence? Could it be … the victims were white and the suspects black?

Fox News made a mention … 5 days after they were taken, the day after suspects were arrested. Nothing on CNN. The AP is carrying a copy of the local newspaper version. No one is mentioning anything about a hate crime, or passing around a petition at the U … just some poor white kids were in the wrong place at the wrong time, sucks to be them.

And given how my brother’s murderer was sentenced to a total of 12 years along with a felony cocaine possession charge, and served 12 months, the rest on probation, despite being arrested several times while out on bond, and again after release to probation … I do not hold out any hope for justice in this town. For anyone.

Sorry for the thread-jacking but in light of the circus that the Duke case became, I am seriously pissed …

You know, in my alternate universe the media is prohibited from reporting any accusations, arrests or indictments, only fully adjudicated court convictions or acquittals upon the reading of a verdict.

Having done a 60 Minutes segment before, it is amazing how much is said, and how much is chopped out.
It all depends on what THEY want to present to the viewers.

An acquaintance who worked for 60 Min. said the same thing, that reality and what they show (video parts and reporting slants) is sometimes like Zenith from Abyss.

I want to comment about my own case which is very similar to this one, but can’t(advice of my lawyer).
Let me just say it’s been going on for 4+ years.
I expected to have the charges dismissed on a number of occasions, but I’m going to court(not trial).
It is nice to observe that many here know when someone’s being screwed by the “justice system”.
I wouldn’t wish this misery on anyone except the prosecutor/persecutor.

If discovered and questioned, I will disavow/deny any knowledge of this comment under advice of council.

Is it maybe because the interviewer is a female?

There may be a double lawsuit here.

I thought about that myself, but then you have to realize that they probably talked to these parents for hours, and they only show the most compelling statements and people. It seemed Reade Seligmann’s Mom was on the most, but I think it was because she was the most telegenic of the six.

I’m pretty sure they probably all spoke quite a bit.

this was an example of people rushing to blame white kids when there’s a black/minority victim. Those same people who think the police and the court systems are out to get minorities when a minority commits the crime can’t wait to defend and preach the virgin purity of that same system if the accused is white no matter how insane the case gets.

Well what it is Mr. Brodhead? A private matter to be commented upon only by those at Duke or a public matter commented upon those who live in this country? What does the race of the “Group of 88″ have to do with any of this? Even after all this they are still using the race card. My advice to all these highly educated fools is that they need to look at this case with the facts and stop inserting their own bias into it. No, it’s because the crime is RAPE, and all men are potential RAPISTS. Especially WHITE MEN who rape BLACK slaves like Thomas Jefferson did*. Even those of us who have never actually done it deep down want to do it. All the boys in that party wanted to rape the strippers, hell they probably even want to rape their own mothers. If you don’t believe it, ask a womyn.

(*There is not absolute proof that Jefferson fathered a child with Sally Hemmings. There is pretty strong evidence that someone in his family did, but there are other candidates for the honor. Then there’s the question of whether it was consensual, within the context of how ‘consent’ can be granted by a slave in the first place….)
