He spent hours scripting and rehearsing this abortion; the least you can do is admire his ability to affect outrage on cue. Note especially how he addresses Bush directly, as if speaking to him. Does he think Bush is watching? No. But he knows you are, and he wants you to know that he’s not afraid to pretend-get right up in the president’s face. Aren’t you impressed? [...]

Paula Zahn– 760,000 viewers (246,000)
Countdown w/ Olbermann – 712,000 viewers (237,000)

According to Nielsen, MSNBC was the only cable news network to post gains in 2006.

Fox declined 14%
CNN declined 17%
MSNBC grew 8%

Countdown had a 24% increase in 2006; a 60% increase in the 4th qtr. O’Reilly stills wins the time slot, but Countdown is now at about 25% of O’R's viewership, but in the money demo 25-54, Countdown now has half as many viewers as O’Reilly.

No wonder Roger Ailes is getting cranky! (This is a particularly bad time for FNC to be showing declines–their contracts with affiliates are up for renewal. The original contracts were a huge bonus for the affiliates; as FNC first came on, they were desperate for distribution. As they became the ratings leader, Ailes was licking his chops thinking he could re-negotiate much more lucrative contracts. So the timing of the ratings decline could not be worse. Gee that’s a shame….)

No wonder Keith Olbermann’s ratings are in the tank. If ever a talking head was lost and spaced out, it’s him. It’s a shame that MSNBC appears more of mouth piece for al Jazzera, than America.

What’s baffling, is how does Keith Olbermann get his head in and out of his a$$ so fast, without damaging his glasses? Great trick! /Sarcasm

Still is, on ESPN radio’s Dan Patrick show (KO and ESPN kissed and made-up). They guy is just as annoying there as he is on MSNBC.

No, it’s MSNBC pushing its agenda. If, by some chance, we end up with a Dem President in ’08, KO’s show will go away (nothing for him to criticize) much like it did the first time around back in the late 90s.
