Since the majority of the public (actually 98% are personally-uninvolved and if-asked-clearly, are indifferent about the entire operation/war except that the MSM’s slanted news “makes them feel bad“) thinks Bush has “failed in Iraq”, he should at least throw a curve ball to the mullahs (and their global jihadist pals) and smash the Iranian nuclear ambitions NOW while he is still CIC, since it would make no difference to his re-election possibilities and could actually secure our Civilization’s future.

Better to be cursed undeservedly for saving someone (as many a lifeguard has gotten a broken nose from a thrashing, drowning, panicky swimmer), rather than fail in his ultimate duty to protect our nation, by failing to answer the Iranian nuclear lunacy, and deserve the curse.

An act of war? So be it. Iran has been at war with us for decades. It is about time we responded with our military. And it’s past time we started fighting the war against Islam like we fought against Germany….hard and fast. Blitzkrieg ‘em.

RE: Possible Big Boom in Iran:

Maybe a a low level air-burst test of an EMP weapon????… Iran claimed to have a few of them ready a year or so ago and threatened to use them over mid-America.

That would account for the boom but lack of serious seismic evidence. And if done at low enough altitude in a remote valley or basin, electronic ‘evidence’ could be minimal…

I suppose our satellites over the region would have noticed, but we sure can’t count on public confirmation from the government unless they want to use it to justify an attack on Iran.

That was sweet, but just practice. As for the people who worry about sovereignty issues, the radical Iranians didn’t care – they’re the only ones who have violated protocols – they went on to violate international diplomatic pouch priviledges for years. They haven’t played by the rules for a long time, and boasted about it. The diplomatic corps might squeal, in a hired mourners sort of manner, but they all know that they have more to fear from Iranian flaunting of diplomatic norms than from the Americans. Regular Iranians – quite a few nice people there – but the regime is poison.

The report is already a couple hours old, so if there’s any truth to it, “we” surely know about it by now, so if no news stories about such a blast pop up shortly, you can probably chalk this one up to a simple alien invasian….

From what I can find, there is no active Iranian consulate in Irbil. It seems to have been closed several years ago. There is an agreement in principle publicized last month that Iraq should “…help with the opening of Iranian consulates in Irbil and Al-Sulaymaniyah…”, but I somehow doubt they have gotten that completed since RFE published the article on 12/21.
