LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) — Real estate tycoon Donald Trump’s relocation to the West Coast for his latest edition of “The Apprentice” did little to bolster sagging viewer interest in his corporate-themed reality show.

Returning to the airwaves following a highly publicized feud with talk show host and comedienne Rosie O’Donnell, Trump averaged a lackluster 9.1 million viewers for Sunday night’s premiere of the sixth installment of “The Apprentice.”

That tally was down 600,000 viewers from last year’s premiere of season five and marked the smallest audience yet for a season debut of Trump’s show on NBC, ratings service Nielsen Media Research reported Monday.

But the show’s ratings among viewers aged 18 to 49, the prime-time audience segment advertisers prize most, grew slightly from last season’s debut.

Featuring a group of would-be Trump proteges vying for a high-ranking job in his business empire, “Apprentice” faces stiff competition this year in its new Sunday night time slot opposite the ABC hit “Desperate Housewives.” That show ranked as the evening’s most watched series on U.S. television with 18.6 million viewers.

But…

Rosie O’Donnell brought a brash unpredictability to “The View” and that translated into boffo ratings for the show, which finished the fourth quarter with its highest total viewer tally since its inception 10 years ago.

The show us up 13% in total viewers and 23% in women 18-49 over the fourth quarter last year, an unheard-of swing in daytime television where viewer habits are strong and ratings tend to stagnate.

The heat generated by O’Donnell put the once-moribund chatfest back into the headlines with edgy material and much-publicized feuds with Donald Trump and Kelly Ripa.

So, it’s because of Risie’s fat mouth? Hmm… LEt’s see what happens to the View after this fight.

A USA Today/Gallup poll conducted by phone over the weekend among 1,004 participants indicated that only 28 percent of people had a favorable opinion of O’Donnell vs. 41 percent who said they had a favorable opinion of Trump, USA Today reported.

I did catch a segment on O’Reilly last night..he had a gal on that reads the body language of a subject (Walters), to determine if the person is telling the truth…Yesterday, Babs said she didn’t know they were going to bring up the subject, yet this gal pointed out the animation of Barbara’s hands and face and pointed out that Babs read off her cue cards on the desk..she appeared to be decieving people, according to the expert..Maybe Rosie is right, maybe Barbara is a F’ing liar..she lied about Star!

Like I said in the last blog posting about this topic, the smartest thing Trump could have done was let it go. He is fueling the fire. He may have had the high ground oh-so-slightly in the beginning but now he is just giving her something to talk about on that crappy show.

They read the letter Trump wrote to Rosie on Hannity & Colmes last night (I couldn’t escape it, I was working out at the gym before it came on… but at least KP was on). It was pretty harsh. Trump taunted her with Barbara’s assurances to him that she wasn’t long for the View.

He probably wouldn’t say things like that unless they were true. It would be pretty defamatory to Babs’ reputation if they were false.
