Left-wing bloggers enlist en masse to replace surging troops in Afghanistan

That 21,500 has to come from somewhere and some of them are coming from Afghanistan. But wait — Kabul’s not safe for democracy yet either. The Taliban, the real terrorists, might see this as their chance to pounce. Who’s going to protect the defenseless Afghan population from the remorseless killers who targeted the American homeland?

Who? Heroes. That’s who.

The Pentagon expects one battalion will be comprised entirely of Glenn Greenwald’s alter egos.

I’m not Glenn Greenwald, but even I felt stung by that. Well played.

It will be the first battalion to specialize in talking the enemy to sleep.

They’ll probably wind up taking Osama out, but they’ll bore him to death.

Libs act like they WANT us to have troops in A-stan. Who they tryin’ to B.S.? If we pulled outta Iraq tomorrow, by Friday they’s demand our Troops outta A-stan.

I say take our guys outta Bosnia! Why are they still there? They could be killin’ jihadis in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of sittin’ around Bosnia doin’ nuttin’. Home by Christmas, eh Bill?

Hey, Nancy Pelousi herself said before the election that Iraq isn’t part of the War on Terror, and that the War on Terror is in (and apparently only in) Afghanistan. You’d think that all those brave young liberals who are outraged (outraged!) when you question their patriotism would take her at her word and enlist in droves. After all, they’re patriots! Just the kind that hate America and everything it stands for, and are rooting for the terrorists to win. But aside from that, totally patriotic.

ReubenJCogburn on January 10, 2007 at 8:52 PM

Most liberals it seems to me are armchair generals who think hindsight is foresight on their part when it comes to arguing against the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

According to sources close to their mommies,

“Lib special farces will be stationed in Kabul’s Yellow Zone during daylight hours and redeployed overnight to more secure accommodations in Okinawa.”

Allah,

Maybe I could go back as their advisor?

major john on January 10, 2007 at 11:19 PM

Maybe they can blind the enemy with tin foil…or something.

Guys and gals, I came acroos this tonight and almost fell off my chair laughing. Its all about the ‘loose changers’. Some of you may already have seen this, but it worth a view…

Afghanistan is a completely different situation.

All you really need to tamp down on the Taliban/Al-quada.

#1 Most of the Country:

A battallion’s worth of Rangers or Recon Marines and Forward Combat Air Controlers for each platoon.

3 Battallions of Airborne Infantry, or air-delivered light infantry

#2 Kabul/ primary populated area

2-3 Battallions of combat troops, and support troops.

And a whole lot of Human and electronic Intelligence.

yep, that’s all you need for a country like Afghanistan…. less if they’ve been training their own troops for their populous regions.

It’s all pretty simple in that regard.

so no, we do not need a “Surge” of conventional troops in Afghanistan. Maybe some additional drones and Forward combat controllers… but that’s more about money than manpower.

Librals, most of them, and Democrats don’t seem to care about the war on terrorism. It was only a tool to be used to attack Bush and get back into power.

If a mushroom cloud from an Al Qaead/Iranian/NKorean nuke rises up over Chicago, they would cry crocodile tears and blame AMERICA because we would have had it coming. And then ask for terms of surrender from our enemy.

Reuben, you awful, horrible man. You just don’t get it. They don’t hate America–they just want it to be the America that it could be. Or is it the America that once was? Anyway, they love an America that doesn’t include Bush being Hitler. And, come to think of it, an America where the GOP didn’t exist would be pretty nifty for them, too.

Either way, somebody should probably travel back in time and assassinate Lincoln. But, you know, a few years earlier.

These girlies just lack real conviction about their conspiracies. If one of these sissy Mary’s really wants to get Loose Change off the ground, Dylan Avery will disappear for a few months, to be found in the spring in the East River with his hands tied, and his feet in a bucket of cement.

Then, we can start talking about conspiracies.

Sean M. If there’s no Lincoln, there’s no United States. The South is the soul of the U.S. military. I dread to think what the country would be like without the patriotism of the South. Imagine a coast to coast Massachusettes. Law enforcement can’t even ask for I.D. there.

Mojave Mark on January 11, 2007 at 9:33 AM

Jones Zem, right on Brutha! It’s amazing what one Air Force guy can do with a radio and pair of binoculars. He is equal to or greater than an entire armored division and he showed us this in Afghanistan back in ‘01.

We need more of this in Iraq. Find the bad guys, call in an airstrike. If innocent civilians get hurt too, well sorry, but if ya don’t want that to happen again, tell us where the bad guys are and get the hell outta there.

Suggested reading on the subject: “Jawbreaker”.

please … no… anything but a battalion of liberals.

If there was no Lincoln we wouldn’t be in this mess, because the North was the ones who decided it was OK to force a change in the Constitution AGAINST the will of the people. It was the North that decided to grow the Federal Government.

Specifically, it was Lincoln who decided that the will of the people is secondary to the will of the elite.

Oh and Lincoln was the one who decided it was a good thing to have the Government buy off corporations. Let’s not forget he was a RR lawyer and set up to pay RRs with tax dollars and protect them from competition, but they paid in the manipulating they gave into for the pork.

The South on the other hand had a limited, but great RR system. It is one of the reasons why it is one of the few that exist today (N&S was from the South).

The only other one that not only was great, but was fair with it’s customers was GN, built by Hill with private funds.

Finally, the South would have fought this war right, not the PC crap the North (Liberals) puts on the soldiers. The South would have said:

1. Win
2. Kill the enemy and worry about everything else later.
3. Mosques are not a “Allah-Allah Free” safe zone.
4. When in doubt about your actions see Rule #1.

Right now we have 7 steps just to decide if you can shoot at an open enemy.

Lef-tenant Ted Rall, pen in hand, will be parachuting into Kabul tomorrow morning at dawn, a collection of satirical barbs under his arm to mow down the: A) insignificant; or: B) non-existent Taliban with.

Followed by the Kos Brigade, who will skip across the borders from every direction, firing wildly, and demanding that all of the opium be delivered to them immediately.

Their battle flag’s logo: “Don’t Tread, Oh My!”

Their patch emblem: A Chimp with a toothbrush moustache waving a phony Yale degree in one paw and a bloody-dripping swastika in the other.
