PLEASE devote ONE section of the left column to a DVIDS topic every day. Just one, at least. I love this resource, and it would make it available to folks who might forget about it in the coming weeks.

JUST ONE. If I can stare at old taxidermied Nonna over there for a whole week, some good news would not be out of order.

I second that! We need more of this stuff to reach those Americans whom have been brainwashed by the lying MSM. That 28% will quickly become the majority.

csdeven on January 9, 2007 at 9:35 AM

Thanks for showing the other side of the news about what our Troops are doing.

The last segment with the medical center and the children was very touching.

Wait a sec. The Iraqi’s are using Polish APC’s? That can’t be right! After all, everybody knows that the only reason we’re in Iraq is money! Money for oil, money for rebuilding the country, and money for the military items we sell them. Why is it that we’re letting them decide where to buy their military equipment?

dalewalt on January 9, 2007 at 9:47 AM

This is a great thing that Hot Air is doing. I know that things have been tough in Iraq-it is a war zone-but the people of Iraq are 6 million, the insurgents just a few hundred/ a thousand-majority rule will happen and there will be peace. Iran and it’s puppet Syria have been fomenting war, sending insurgents over the borders who don’t give a damn about Iraq-they are just fighting the Great Satan. The United States isn’t the only country which needs to better control it’s borders.

It is all too easy to be pessimistic about the situation in Iraq these days. Thank you HotAir for covering the good news that the MSM won’t show us.

infidel4life on January 9, 2007 at 11:31 AM

It is stories like these that need to be told and seen. Thankyou for providing this important service. Stay safe MM and crew.

Welcome home soldier

“When I got back I called Public Storage to find out the status of my account and they told me the contents of my storage container had been auctioned off in June because the bill hadn’t been paid.”
While Rogalin was in Iraq, he said someone fraudulently accessed his checking account, writing more than $900 in worthless checks that caused his automatic Public Storage payments to bounce.

The Hate America First, aka MSM, believes bad news is what sells.

You need to feel guilty to feel good.
You need to see suffering to feel remorse.
You need to hate before you can care.

The truth is out there, as we dispense it.

We will control all that you see and hear.

We sell sensationalism, no story get published without the required negative reinforcement to make you feel guilty.

Kini on January 9, 2007 at 12:36 PM

Wonder how are wonderful fair and balanced drive by media fails to include these types of stories in their coverage.

MarkB on January 9, 2007 at 12:59 PM

Great Vent Michelle!

It is so refreshing to get reporting from the military’s perspective and not tainted by the MSM’s political agenda.

After viewing these videos the old addage “consider the source” really does hit home.

Baghdad is 6 million, think Iraq is 25 or 26 million.

Great stuff though.

honora on January 9, 2007 at 2:09 PM

Michelle,
Refreshing and a job well done. It’s about time.
Coulda used stuff like this back in my time to counter
the anti-military anti-Vietnam crowd.
Thank you

That last segment was wonderfully done. To see our troops volunteering and spending time with those Iraqi kids..I feel ashamed for all the awful things people say about what we’re doing over there. Thanks guys. Great stories.

austinnelly on January 9, 2007 at 6:14 PM

Theoretically you would expect military news to be “propoganda” to which a free press is the antidote. But this just doesnt seem to be the case at all.

This report shows a factual story with a reporter on the ground taking video and interviews with people using thier real names and talking about things in the first person. In contrast read the MSM and it is like a mystery novel, you have unconfirmed reports from unknown and unnamed sources and pics or video restransmitted from unknown sources not from reporters on the ground and commentators telling us the truth about what is happening with no basis at the scene of events.

Resolute on January 9, 2007 at 7:57 PM

We need more news like this. More stories like this will help beat the lying and biased MSM.

Keep it coming!!!

Yakko77 on January 9, 2007 at 8:31 PM

Schools are being painted! Fingers are being purpled! Thank goodness we have the Pentagon to tell us what a great job the Pentagon is doing.

The Kenosha Kid on January 9, 2007 at 8:38 PM

GREAT VENT The MSM won’t get out of the comfort zone of the green zone hotel bar or rec room to go get the real story. Only the few conservatives will go out and get us the positive. Thanks Hot Air. Ollie North has some good stuff also as did Hannity when he went over there.

bones47 on January 9, 2007 at 9:48 PM

Absolutely Amazing Michelle. Rarely are we ever exposed to stories like this. That is very sad.
The more things like this are exposed, the more all the bash Bush, at any cost, people will come around.
Please, please, please show more and take care of yourself Michelle.

oakpack on January 9, 2007 at 9:59 PM

Kenosha Kid, stay in the People’s Republic of Wisconsin why don’t ya. You wouldn’t accept any good news from Iraq because it appears by your stupid statement you probably hate the military since you comment that

Thank goodness we have the Pentagon to tell us what a great job the Pentagon is doing.

The Kenosha Kid on January 9, 2007 at 8:38 PM

implies that you don’t like the Pentagon. Well, well, well too bad so sad. Talk to some military members who just came back from there and they’ll give you the same story from their own lips. Of course you probably hang out with the stinky (I had the misfortune of meeting one who accosted me at my door) vets for peas who agree with your silly point of view. I would suggest you get your head out of the cheese and actually speak to some Soldiers or Marines who have just returned. You may find that your way of viewing things isn’t the way things actually are. My husband will be back in about 2 months and while there have been times he’s been discouraged (the election in Nov. was one of those times) he’s been disgusted by the MSM and the fools like yourself who believe them hook, line and sinker, stinker.
Great vent once again!

Catie96706 on January 9, 2007 at 11:50 PM

It’s good to see something coming out of Iraq besides the unending negativity we’re used to from the enemedia. But that last segment about the free clinic, while heartwarming, will come as no surprise to anybody that’s been stationed overseas or just knows servicemembers. It’s normal for the goodies in care packages to go to the local kids, or for people to write home asking their families to send things that they can turn around and give to the Iraqis. That’s just another example of the way our military personnel embody the best of us. Meanwhile, all too many people on the Left sit safe at home vilifying them and despising them. But when you watch that video, don’t ever forget that the people who want us to cut and run are willing to abandon every single one of those little kids, multiplied out over the entire country of Iraq, just to achieve their vision of defeat for America. Congressional Democrats abandoned our allies and treaty obligations in 1975 and got 2 million people killed, and they can’t wait to do it again in Iraq. And they’ll no doubt claim that it was all “for the children”.
