Durbin crawls to dKos: “Help me set the Senate’s agenda”

Lest you believe there’s even a shred of stigma remaining from the “screw them” episode or the ongoing flirtation with strident “anti-Zionism,” here’s the United States Senate’s majority whip head-patting the cretins whose leader once told him to “go f*** himself” when he apologized for comparing prisoner treatment at Gitmo to that at Nazi death camps and Soviet gulags.

They’ll probably pick ethics reform first. No worries for the Democrats: the toughest measure in the bill may already be off the table.

Update: And here’s a new centrist hate object for the fightin’ nutroots once they’re done with Rahm Emanuel.

The Senate of Rome dKos now councils Mr. Durbin and the U.S. Senate. Hope is on the way!

Entelechy on January 9, 2007 at 2:58 PM

Such a nice cheery post from Senator Durbin! Reckon I would get a tingle if any Republican congresscritters would solicit our input like this!

“A Bone A Bone My kingdom for a Bone.” Koz

I always suspected that the VRWC thing was a bit of projection on the Lefty’s part. This makes it clear ,and with the MSM sweeping issues like this under the rug, they will be working to put their socialist agenda in place like never before.

bbz123 on January 9, 2007 at 3:02 PM

This kind of stuff just makes you realize that our guys didn’t even go on to the field to fight, let alone articulate a position.
We should’ve cleaned their clocks with this stuff.
But noooo.

Iblis on January 9, 2007 at 3:06 PM

Looks like Durbin’s testing the ‘08 waters for himself.

Next stop: Exploratory Committee.

Slublog on January 9, 2007 at 3:10 PM

Durbin is utterly contemptible in pretty much every way, so it’s no surprise that he’d slither into the fever swamps at dKos. And I say that as somebody who’s been trying to vote him out of office for about 20 years now. Unfortunately you’re effectively disenfranchised in Illinois if you live outside Chicago (or East St. Louis), where dead people vote early and often and the political corruption rivals that of New Orleans.

On the other hand, that Joe Donnelly sounds like he might be sane and reasonably mainstream. So naturally his days in the Democratic party are numbered.

ReubenJCogburn on January 9, 2007 at 3:12 PM

I went over to rank the Senate agenda for our old pal Dick.

I ranked “ethics and lobbying reform” for all four choices offered. The rest of the choices are all hogwash.

iNeXuS on January 9, 2007 at 3:15 PM

Durbin saw how well it worked for Lamont.

Clark1 on January 9, 2007 at 3:26 PM

I thought the Democrats had a plan, an agenda even…

But now they’re asking dKos? ???

we truly are doomed.

Lawrence on January 9, 2007 at 3:29 PM

Their plan was to say they have a better plan to get elected and then once in they will do what Dems do, Tax and spend and tarnish.

bbz123 on January 9, 2007 at 3:31 PM

Hey Dick! How’s it feel being Nancy’s ***** or are you just her ****? (I’d be banned for what I want to say!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on January 9, 2007 at 3:34 PM

I’ve hardly scratched the surface, but here’s a few comments by the Koskids:

I urge you and the rest of our newly elected Democraticly controlled Congress to explore a SINGLE-PAYER health care system for the citizens of this great land. If many EU states can figure this out - so can we.

I also would like to see the Dems address/investigate the voting machine fiasco as well as rebuilding the Gulf Coast. As is the norm for the criminal Cons, they’re fleecing the Gulf Coast survivors as much as they’re fleecing us in Iraq.

unitary executive/imperial presidency/King George! We want our Constitution back, in the shape it was in before BushCo started tearing it to shreds. No torture. No rendition. No domestic spying. We want our Constitution, and our beloved country, back.

My agenda priorities?

Deal with illegal wiretapping
Get rid of the Patriot Act
Bring back Habeas Corpus
End Torture Bill

Paying attention Jaherer. This is your home team.

How to save healthcare …. mimic the EU plan (EU states)
Win more elections …. get those darn voting machines fixed
Let’s go all out …. and rebuild the entire Gulf Coast

I have a limited amount of time to devote to Kos, but I’m sure if I looked long enough I’d find someone saying, “Could you please raise our taxes Mr Durbin?”

Talk about the blind leading the blind.

fogw on January 9, 2007 at 3:34 PM

Screw ‘em

LakeRuins on January 9, 2007 at 3:38 PM

I’m sure his constituents are happy to hear this.

It’s sheer buffoonery. Why is he playing to a group that doesn’t even come close to representing a cross-section of our society?

And what’s the percentage of these kooks that live in Illinois…1% of 1 percent?

Maybe he’s scared by their tin foil hat rattling.

budorob on January 9, 2007 at 3:39 PM

Old Dick, what a clown. I notice in his Kos post he lists his priorities (besides himself that is). Ethics reform (lol, sorry) is #1. Illegals invading our country and sucking us dry while slowly but surely changing our language is #9.

For this the kos kids fawn all over him. Birds of a feather …

darwin on January 9, 2007 at 3:47 PM

Hey Fogw… like this one?

we really need to do something about rescinding these ridiculous tax breaks that are playing havoc with the budget. If the Pay As You Go bill does that, well rock on then.

CBarker on January 9, 2007 at 3:50 PM

Leadership by Following - Today’s Democrat Party.

TugboatPhil on January 9, 2007 at 3:53 PM

Go there and vote for energy independence, ethics reform and rebuilding our military…we should all do it and let him know what the top issues should be.

How in the world did we get stuck with these people? I don’t which is the biggest loser . . . the brain dead electorate or the babbeling incompetents in the GOP.

rplat on January 9, 2007 at 4:02 PM

S.4 — Fully implementing all 9/11 Commission recommendations

So, does this include the recommendation to reorganize the oversight of intelligence that the Dems had previously rejected?

CBarker on January 9, 2007 at 3:50 PM

I saw that and wanted to barf. I read as many of the comments as I could stand, then decided to just do a search on the word “illegal.” The only instances I found referred to the wiretapping and Club Gitmo. Figures.

lan astaslem on January 9, 2007 at 4:10 PM

Hey, don’t blame me. I voted Republican.

Bring it on, Douchecrats. The faster Durbin does something stupifying treasonous–and he will–the better. More! Mush!

ahem on January 9, 2007 at 4:14 PM

Dick has certainly stepped in it here. I visited fantasy land for a few minutes. It was almost like those feed the children videos that show hungry kids crowding relief trucks, reaching out for food and water. Unfortunately for KosKids, I think Dick will be more like Arnold in Jingle All The Way: “Just remember, you’re my number one customer!”.

jeffNWV on January 9, 2007 at 4:27 PM

I was over there earlier today checking out the latest … it was … rather interesting. Kennedy has posted over there too.

his usual anti war drivel. nothing as interesting as this.

One Angry Christian on January 9, 2007 at 4:36 PM

i truely and fully believe that there just happened to be nobody higher up on the totem pole to ask what his beliefs and priorities should be.

durban strikes positions way to the left of normal people, but this is not because he is any kind of ideologue who’s thoughts are organized one way or the other. he’s way to the left for the same reason the legos real little kids play with are six times as large as the normal ones. its like a half-blind person might have trouble telling noon from afternoon, but can distinguish day from night as well as anyone else.

jummy on January 9, 2007 at 4:50 PM

Has the 100 hours started yet?

Wade on January 9, 2007 at 5:52 PM

I can’t even select ANY because they are either left wing BS or else they have word “reform” in them, and we all KNOW that the word “reform” to a brain falling out liberal mind doesn’t mean the same as it does to us. Sort of like how SURRENDER is now called “redeployment” in democratic Party circle jerks.

You’re nuts. Dick the Weenie isn’t leaving the safety of the Peoples’ Republic of Illinois. He’s got it too good here and in the Senate.

Lawrence on January 9, 2007 at 3:29 PM

No Lawrence, the DEMOCRATS are doomed if they pander to the left. Traitor Dickie is going to give the Republicans enough ammo to oust them in 2008 in the Senate.

At this rate, aft the 2008 election, we’ll be hunting Democrats with dogs (to borrow from former Sen Phil Gramm).

georgej on January 10, 2007 at 1:07 AM

Has anyone yet made this clear enough? Durbin is a dishonest retard with several personality disorders, and generallly a worthless dickless jerk

Alles klar?

Janos Hunyadi on January 10, 2007 at 2:09 AM

Do you really think he gives a flying f*ck what the Kos Kidz think? He’s just trying to offer them a seat at the adult table before he signs on with the rest of the Dem leadership to endorse a half-measure on their part where sending more troops to Iraq is concerned. This way, he can at least pretend to look like he tried to connect with them.

Oh, and do any of you actually believe that Durbin himself actually wrote that post? I’m almost positive that some staffer who reads the filth suggested it and was assigned to write it for him.

Sean M. on January 10, 2007 at 6:09 AM

What the h*ll does Durbin mean by “rebuilding America’s military?”

Considering how the leftards usually feel about the military, this makes me very worried. about what they may do.

William Teach on January 10, 2007 at 8:33 AM

As one of his constituents, and an officer, I reeealllly, don’t want to think about that, Mr. Teach.
