No, that’s not like what I’m saying. I’m saying that a majority of black people don’t agree with conservatives and no matter how much posturing is done it won’t be changed. For conservatives to get the black vote or at least compete for it with Democrats they need to revamp their positions on many different issues.

True. I do think the Democrats could fight for black issues a bit more, but I think Republicans are even worse when it comes to race relations.

And middle-class taxpayers tend to vote Republican.

Don’t know how many black people you know, but if you talk to them money isn’t the biggest issue in persuading them to vote for one party over another.

Traditionally, blacks have been pro-church, pro-life, and a strong national defense; hardly liberal.

Yet 9 out of 10 of them vote Democrat. Some pro-life Democrats I know (who are black) vote Democrat because they believe in the majority of Democratic issues or don’t believe a religious view should be implemented by the government. Some pro-life Republicans (who are black) that I know vote Republican because they believe religious issues are more important than all others. Until you can make black people put religious issues above all others you won’t have them voting as a majority for Republicans.

A majority of the black people I know would agree with Barney Frank’s comments. And no matter how hard bloggers try to change that or win more blacks over to the Republican Party it just won’t happen. It isn’t due to some liberal ploy to trick black people, it’s just that a majority of black people simply agree with liberals more than they do conservatives.

A majority of lazy people simply agree with liberals more than they do conservatives. People of all color who believe in the nanny-state of socialized medicine and welfare prefer the liberal side of the house.

A majority of the black people I know would agree with Barney Frank’s comments. And no matter how hard bloggers try to change that or win more blacks over to the Republican Party it just won’t happen. It isn’t due to some liberal ploy to trick black people, it’s just that a majority of black people simply agree with liberals more than they do conservatives.

I simply refuse to believe that. I think the time is coming, and perhaps soon enough to shock people, when Republicans permanently break past the point where they’re stuck with just 10% of the black vote. Part of the reason I believe that is that (a) Democrats have been taking the black vote for granted, and (b) the rise of the “ownership society” means that more and more black people are now home-owning, middle-class taxpayers, and therefore have the same basic economic interests as other middle-class taxpayers. And middle-class taxpayers tend to vote Republican.

Just to repeat what I always have to point out…. White’s died at a disproportionately high rate in New Orleans (not in “Katrina” because as anyone paying attention knows, only category 1 to 2 conditions struck NOLA, it was just at poorly set-up city, with pathetic state and local officials, and an emergency team awaiting trial over a missing $65 million in federal funds as the storm approached…. I just tire of hearing “Katrina” was the worst “natural” disaster. What happened in NOLA was NOT NATURAL). That all said, again, the point is that whites died at a disproportionately high rate…. where’s that coverage?

It doesn’t make for a good story because: Spike Lee wouldn’t be able to make a documentary about it; “prominent” lefty African-American leaders like Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton wouldn’t be able to improve their position within the African-American community with that news; and best of all, it would make it harder to blame Bush for all of it.

Nobody – I mean NOBODY demanded the government do something.

Ya know why? Individual responsibility. If you’re not responsible for yourself no matter how much the politicians buy you off with you’ll always want more because you didn’t apprecaite what you had to begin with.

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event; may I even say a “Weather Event” of Biblical Proportions” — with a historic blizzard of up to 44″ inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10’s of thousands.

FYI:
George Bush did not come.
FEMA did nothing…no one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV.
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit – or report on this category 5 snowstorm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody – I mean NOBODY demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.
No Larry King, No Bill O’Reilly, No Oprah, No Chris Matthews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Sean Penn, No Barbra Streisand, No Hollywood types to be found.
Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
We sent out caravans of SUV’s to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn’t ask for a penny.
Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families.
Families took in the stranded people – total strangers.
We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.
We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is “Work or Die”.
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for ’sittin at home’ checks.
Even though a Category “5″ blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.
In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 40 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world’s social problems evaporates.

It does seem that way, at least to me.

I hope this gets passed on.
Maybe SOME people will get the message. The world does NOT owe you a living!

Heh. My aunt and mother were on the phone the other day lamenting the fact that ALL of their children vote Republican. Blacks becoming middle calss and the Democrats dumping Blacks for Hispanics will eventually take its toll on the Black voting block.
