Video: Screaming match over Saddam on Al Jazeera

The guy with hair is Sadeq al-Musawi, a Shiite journalist. The fat, bald degenerate opposite him is Mishan al-Jabouri, proprietor of the Iraqi insurgency’s very own satellite network, Al-Zawraa. Naturally, he’s a welcome guest on Al Jazeera.
Keep watching past the point where the fight ends to see just how far his Sunni tribal loyalty to Saddam extends. A google search on al-Musawi reveals little; if he’s a Sadrist, then this little vignette is a near-perfect microcosm of Iraqi politics. The only thing missing is one of them drilling a hole in the other’s head.

Which one is Hannity and which one is Colmes?
honora on January 8, 2007 at 1:35 PM
Hannity has hair. I don’t think Alan is quite as vituperative as that other guy though.
mikeyboss on January 8, 2007 at 1:40 PM
Looks like the DNC convention….tolerance is a beautiful thing….who do you back, this is the Iraq-Iran war all over again. We have an Iranian-backed shia rightly condemning Saddam and a sunni idiot extolling the virtues of Saddam. Wow, the mess muslims have foisted upon the rest of the world………….
ritethinker on January 8, 2007 at 1:40 PM
there were a couple of sentiments shouted there which i wasn’t quite able to grock.
jummy on January 8, 2007 at 1:42 PM
If this is indeed a microcosim of the situation in Iraq then as soon as American troops come home there will be civil war in Iraq.
The only thing these two have in common besides their language and perhaps their religion is their ardent desire to kill each other.
These two make O’Donnell and Trump look like good buddies.

Hell, a Sunni and a Shiite cannot get along even on tv… is it any wonder why the Middle East is such a powder keg?
Ah, Islam, the Religion of Peace.

Iraq trial tapes tell of ‘extermination’ plan
POSTED: 12:01 p.m. EST, January 8, 2007
BAGHDAD, Iraq (Reuters) — Saddam Hussein and his cousin “Chemical Ali” discussed killing thousands with chemical weapons before unleashing them on Kurds in 1988, according to tapes played on Monday in a trial of former Iraqi officials
will strike them with chemical weapons and kill them all,” a voice identified by prosecutors as that of Majeed, Hussein’s cousin and a senior aide, is heard saying.
“Who is going to say anything? The international community? Curse the international community,” the voice continued.
“Yes, it’s effective, especially on those who don’t wear a mask immediately, as we understand,” another voice, identified as Hussein, is heard saying on another tape.
“Sir, does it exterminate thousands?” a voice asks back.
“Yes, it exterminates thousands and forces them not to eat or drink and they will have to evacuate their homes without taking anything with them, until we can finally purge them,” the voice identified as Hussein answers.

My favorite part is when the creepy crazy guy starts reciting his prayers and peeks to see if the camera is catching him praying.
Phony.
Vincenzo on January 8, 2007 at 3:08 PM
Well, what do you expect after 30 years of brutal totalitarian rule? Shiites having to mouth how great Saddam is despite being his victims, and Sunnis never hearing a word to the contrary. Now that the Shiites can talk freely, they have a lot to say, and certainly a lot of emotion behind it, and the Sunnis are shocked anyone is allowed to speak badly of Saddam.
Overall, I think this sort of thing is good.

Let the healing begin
Kini on January 8, 2007 at 3:39 PM
Shows like this would send O’Reilly, McLaughlin, Hannity and the other shows down the memory hole.
I loved the ‘You are an Iranian shoe.’ line. That was great.
On the flip side, Baker’s inference that we should step up dialoguing all around falls kinda flat now.
Exit question, if I may: Is there a book of ME fighting words, cause it would be kind of nice to see if any of this inflamatory rhetoric was real or if these guys were pikers.
Dusty on January 8, 2007 at 4:14 PM
this must be the “open discussion” the dems are talking about where one party threatens to kill the other.

Mishan al-Jabouri needs to be buried with Saddam. I don’t care which of the two gets to be on top.

Broadcasting these exchanges in an
uncivilizedopen debate to the public would never have been done under Saddam. Messy as it is, do I detect progress in democracy here? It may have been mostly death threats and mudslinging but hey, it’s a start. Brings to mind the infamous Hatfields and McCoys right down to the hanging.Guardian on January 8, 2007 at 6:30 PM

…..and their ratings went up 5 points.
In two weeks they’ll be ahead of Nancy Grace.

That was some funny shi’ite. Microcosm, indeed. Even if the guy was Iranian by birth, he didn’t say anything untrue about Saddam.
10$ says we see Che-like T-shirts with Saddam’s face on them at Death Cab for Cutie concerts within the year.

Yakko77, they’re as dissimilar as Japanese and Koreans. Here is a link with bits and pieces about it…I’m sure it’s not the best on topic…
Entelechy on January 8, 2007 at 11:32 PM
The part I like best is that they’re both Muslims. The part I get hung up on is that if the enemy of my enemy is my friend, I can’t work out which one is my friend and which one is my enemy. Oh, right they’re both my friends, er, I mean my enemies. It would only have been better if they were both Democrats.
smellthecoffee on January 9, 2007 at 12:42 AM
I am not sure about the difference between a Persian and an Arab but I will never make the mistake of confusing the two again after an incident with a friend of mine. lol

What a bunch of Animals… these people, both the Persians and the Arabs are all filth… Please Allah let them kill each other peacfully!

hahahahaha!!!
I’d love to know what the moonbats think when they see this stuff. Compared to Mishan al-Jabouri, Bush is Noam Chomsky! Yet the crazy left fawn over these “freedom fighters” as if they are just a ME version of the american 60’s peace-nick wackos! If that ME mentality ever became dominant in this country, the first people they’d supress would be the liberals.
The left is very fond of pointing out the cozy relationship the US has with countries that eventually become our enemies. Well, here are the moonbats, supporting a group of people that would just as soon stone them to death than look at them. The difference is that the US KNOWS we are going to fight those unholy allies eventually, while the moonbats, with their “I’d like to buy the world a Coke” mentality, are courting the destrution of themselves and their ilk AND ARE TOTALLY CLUELESS!!
PS…the Shiites would do the same thing! I only mention that because when we go into Iran, we are going to be fighting the same wacko mentality. The silver lining to that cloud is the fact that the Iranian people are far more moderate than the ruling class is.
I wonder if the Iranians think this “surge” of troops we are going to send in is a build up to attack them? If we use troops to secure the Iranian border, you can dang well bet that is exactly what Aboony-binny-jerk will use to increase his anti-Israeli rhetoric.
csdeven on January 9, 2007 at 9:24 AM
The tv host wanted to give his producer the sign for “cut” but he was afraid it would be misinterpreted…
Jaibones on January 9, 2007 at 10:52 AM
Fascinating. The guy who was pro-Saddam claimed that Saddam had executed various members of his family.
Perhaps this is a lesson for dealing with the Arab street… execute their families, and they’ll make you an imam. Grant them freedom, and they’ll plant IED’s on the streets.
