My first car (although technically my dad owned it. He bought it for $500.00) was a ’38 Ford I had helped my dad restore.

I remember taking my date to the prom in it. Everyone else had all these cool Camaros, Corvettes and etc, while all I had was this old ’38. Guess which car was considered the coolest around?

Mine was a 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner. Sky blue color with the huge white stripe going aacross the back section of the roof. I still remember the license plate; 333HCT…

I’m with you Ellen; 1971 Pinto, but I must have had trouble for my car AND yours; the electrical system wasn’t worth crap (endemic of early ’70s Fords, I think). My dad loaned me most of the $600 to buy it; I got a job and paid him back in one summer.

I’ve never bought a car for my kids; the most I do is let them drive mine when need be. For my youngest, who’ll be taking his road test in 2 weeks, I told him he could use my truck until he can buy his first… he’s already started working at McD’s.

Mine was a 1973 Pinto – the kind that blew up if you got rear ended. I loved that car, never had a lick of trouble with it. It cost me about 1,000 (I think – hard to remember back then). None of us got cars for gifts, we had to buy our own, and until then we drove the family station wagon or we walked.

Well, to be honest, my first car was a ’77 BMW 320i. And it was hold it’s own against my father’s Camaro on the circuit. Not suprisingly he’d disappear down the straights and I’d catch up to him on the corners. Nevertheless, landing Roadrunners or 455s as your first cars.. *head explody*

Came home with a sparkly new 65 Mercury Comet Caliente. Cash. Set me back, fully loaded, $1790.00 …..I was the KING!…Filled it up for about $4.00…….Wasn’t worth a damn in the drive-in though….unless you were double jointed.

Yep them be a LOT of gray hairs peeking out, and my joints are all arthitic from that car.

First car was a ’76 Chevy Malibu. Guy who sold it to me had put a Oldsmobile 455 big block in it along with Edelbrock headers and a Holley carb. Cost $500.

1st Car – 69 baby blue Pinto. Cheery Bombs and a Pioneer 8-Track under the driver’s seat. $350 of my hard earned Western Auto pay for that jewell.

Riding in the country – Pink Floyd, Allman Bros, Sticky Fingers and a little Fogelberg to set the mood.

Okay – so the clip is not a real representation of THAT event. My comments are obviously derived from my experience with women exactly like her. The clip was a dramatization yet it did not instill a shred of surprise within me. I guess I know some pretty shallow people, huh?

My sixteen year old daughter watched the vid and wants to slap the crap out of this girl. Even if it is fake.

First car – Mercury Bobcat. Which was a twin of the Ford Pinto. A whole summer’s earnings went for it. My dad wouldn’t let me buy anything more sporty because he knew I had a lead foot.

Took me all summer to save $300 to buy it. Yes, it was a steal even back then…late 70′s.
But it was ALL my money, not one dime from dad (or mom or anyone else).

It’s possible that this is fake… however if you’ve ever watched MTV’s “Super Sweet 16″ (…… which I never have), you’d know there are girls that act like this, and worse.
