Obama at the beach

posted at 5:25 pm on January 8, 2007 by Ian

People mag caught the left’s newest pin-up in Hawaii on New Year’s Day, shirtless and splashing.

Swimsuit photos are a rite of passage for Democratic presidential contenders, of course. Credit where credit’s due — he’s clearly an improvement over the last few.

You need a warning about that last photo. More gruesome than the Saddam video.

JammieWearingFool on January 8, 2007 at 5:27 PM

Well here it is again. I think I’m starting to see a theme here. ;-)

R D on January 8, 2007 at 5:34 PM

What, no Keddedy photo, the one that started it all?

right2bright on January 8, 2007 at 5:35 PM

Yeah…Ian, if you’ve got any Nancy Pelosi pictures in the stack you can keep them to yourself.

Chad on January 8, 2007 at 5:36 PM

He’s almost as sexy as Bill Clinton…

Entelechy on January 8, 2007 at 5:36 PM

Geez, now I have to go wash my eyes with bleach.

Retread on January 8, 2007 at 5:37 PM

Well, I gotta say that Kerry’s doing better on that windsurf board than I could ever do.

flipflop on January 8, 2007 at 5:38 PM

Why the traffic cone in front of Ted?
Was he stuck in the pavement?

harrison on January 8, 2007 at 5:41 PM

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

R D on January 8, 2007 at 5:42 PM

Hehehe….where’s Jaws when you need him?

.

GT on January 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM

I was thinking the same thing FlipFlop. But then again, Charlie don’t surf…

Obama takes care of his body, I’ll give him credit for that.

Wyrd on January 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM

Let’s face it, this guy’s gonna be our next president. We live in a celebrity society, and what other politician gets coverage in the pages of the gossip tabloids?

I know women whose only real reading materials are those dumb f__king rags – Life&Style, InTouch, People Magazine, HELLO!, and to a lesser extent Cosmopolitan. No other Washington denizen is likely to be treated fawningly by the celebrity dirt diggers, which is why his name recognition will be through the roof by 2008. Not only will Hillary not be able to compete, neither will any of the Republicans.

mikeomatic on January 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM

Holy crap Ian…after all of those horrible pictures can’t you at least throw one of Kirsten Powers in to make things a little bit better?

Chad on January 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM

I think Ian is feeling a bit sadistic. It is Monday afterall.

.

GT on January 8, 2007 at 5:48 PM

Wow – his ears are really big

uptight on January 8, 2007 at 5:49 PM

so because he looks ok in a swimsuit he should be president yes?

Content warning, AP!!! Where’s the content warning??

Hack Ptui on January 8, 2007 at 6:02 PM

Ian should be banned for posting such a pic.

Defector01, hope your not talking about the Kennedy photo.

right2bright on January 8, 2007 at 6:02 PM

A dark and lean shirtless man in his mid-forties playfully splashing in the surf on an exclusive Hawaiian beach, huh?

More like this guy’s gonna be our first gay president. The only way he could be more gay in this picture is if he was holding a soy latte in his right hand and a pink iPod strapped to his left arm.

ScottMcC on January 8, 2007 at 6:04 PM

Lucky the rest of you don’t live Hawaii (there’s a saying out here, lucky you live Hawaii) because everyday we were bombarded in the Pravadatister (Honolulu Advertister) & on every local news station and radio station for that matter where he was, who he ate with, what he did, ad nauseum.
Jane, I’m with you on the holding the hair thing. I needed someone for that task when I saw that pic of old Teddy boy.

Catie96706 on January 8, 2007 at 6:08 PM

But then again, Charlie don’t surf…

Bwahahahahahaha!

Perfect!

flipflop on January 8, 2007 at 6:10 PM

This is the direct result of the Kennedy/Nixon debate debacle. Style over substance indeed, I will forgo the Teddy substance abuse joke.

bbz123 on January 8, 2007 at 6:15 PM

Mr. Hussein is just making his obligatory rounds. We’re going to be inundated with “Hussein mania” for the next two years. Personally, the bile is gathering at the back of my throat already.

Here’s hoping those don’t vote – that they’ll be so busy with the rags that they’ll forget to register…

Entelechy on January 8, 2007 at 6:24 PM

Does saltwater make your ears big??

gary on January 8, 2007 at 6:49 PM

mikeomatic on January 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM

Two words.

Vince Foster.

fogw on January 8, 2007 at 7:07 PM

The only thing redeeming about those pix is that in the first one, a shirtless, divine Hugh Jackman is in the bottom left corner shot.

SisterToldjah on January 8, 2007 at 7:14 PM

There you go fogw, you can circle the bases now. The Clinton war-room has been up and running for several months now and Obama-Osama will be OGonna-SoLonnga before years-end. They will tear him a new one only as far as keeping him from chair number 1 but not enough to keep him off her veep ticket.

Vince Foster, thanks for brining that back in focus fogw..it’s been awhile….

ritethinker on January 8, 2007 at 7:17 PM

Ted walking his best friend ‘boozer’ along the beach, too drunk to realize….

Actually, I think the pylon has Tedddy tethered with a newspaper delivery bag or something, and Ted unwittingly left his orange colored dog back by the cooler and beach towels.

shooter on January 8, 2007 at 7:31 PM

Well, I gotta say that Kerry’s doing better on that windsurf board than I could ever do.

flipflop on January 8, 2007 at 5:38 PM

Dude, he’s no slouch as an athlete if you keep the SS guys out of his way.

Obama’s gut is as soft as his resume…

Jaibones on January 8, 2007 at 7:59 PM

Why the traffic cone in front of Ted?

Wide load!

Speakup on January 8, 2007 at 7:59 PM

A couple more of the shirtless slob. Here and here.

Valiant on January 8, 2007 at 8:07 PM

Obama’s face looks like Jim Carey in the movie THE MASK.

Alden Pyle on January 8, 2007 at 8:09 PM

Jesus Christ, we need to get Teddy his own friggin zip code.

Alden Pyle on January 8, 2007 at 8:10 PM

“Bringing sexy back.”

Don’t you mean bringing my lunch back?

A couple more of the shirtless slob. Here and here.

Valiant on January 8, 2007 at 8:07 PM

Thanks for that pic Valiant. Ted is in dire need of “the bro” or the “manziere” don’t ya think?

P.S….I think you mistakenly included a photo of Rosie.

fogw on January 8, 2007 at 8:25 PM

I agree with Mikeomatic. Honestly, if this guy runs, he will win. And I’m actually willing to bet on something like that – and I will make a lot of money, too.

SisterToldjah: ditto!

emmaline1138 on January 8, 2007 at 9:19 PM

No Ian – it is Osamabama – ask Hiccup Ted

Alden Pyle on January 8, 2007 at 8:10 PM

25-year old Scotch. It does a body good.

infidel4life on January 8, 2007 at 10:08 PM

I dunno. Obama’s head seems to be photoshopped onto a linebacker’s body.

rivlax on January 8, 2007 at 10:45 PM

Oh Jeez, Hillary’s CHEESE THIGHS and TEDDY’ waterbuffalo gut on the same page……I think I’m blacking out……help…

Soothsayer on January 8, 2007 at 11:27 PM

And who the heck thinks Obama’s “Good Looking” ? Maybe if you were infatuated with DUMBO as a kid. I guess if your face doesn’t look like somebody’s ass, that’s enough for the Dems, huh?

Soothsayer on January 8, 2007 at 11:29 PM

Is it proper for an apostate Muslim man to frolic on a beach almost undressed with unmarried, semi-naked women nearby who are not related to him?

Imams around the world want to know.

RE: the Teddy pic… and I thought he was staggeringly shameless for remaining in politics after negligent-homicidally killing a young woman by drowning, but his daring to take his shirt off with that White Orca of a body shows that his vesitgal conscience must be less than the amount of lint possible in that flaccid, hideous blanc mange of a bellybutton.

Curse you, Allah!

Off to use some steel wool on my pupils.

profitsbeard on January 8, 2007 at 11:37 PM

Dear God! Let’s not have any more of that.

thedecider on January 9, 2007 at 12:17 AM

I thought the Kennedy’s had PR people to keep this kind of crap away from the public – it appears he may have stumbled out of the compound in a drunken stupor.

Rick on January 9, 2007 at 1:02 AM

I dunno. Obama’s head seems to be photoshopped onto a linebacker’s body.

rivlax on January 8, 2007 at 10:45 PM

I have to agree. Looks like a photoshop to me too.

This is news how? Hot Air worthy?

THeDRiFTeR on January 9, 2007 at 7:49 AM

No, but apparently he windsurfs.

THeDRiFTeR on January 9, 2007 at 7:49 AM

It’s laugh-worthy, Drifter, and therefore Hot Air-worthy. Drifter, Machiavelli professed to prefer living in a republic because, in a republic, there is “more life, greater hate.”

Kralizec on January 9, 2007 at 10:38 AM

But Ian, I agree we need a palate-cleanser, especially after the photo of Ted Kennedy. We know Allahpundit’s media minx is Kirsten Powers, but who’s yours? Don’t be shy. :-)

Kralizec on January 9, 2007 at 10:52 AM

Man look what using cocaine in your youth can do for you.

MarkB on January 9, 2007 at 1:02 PM

Let’s face it, this guy’s gonna be our next president. We live in a celebrity society, and what other politician gets coverage in the pages of the gossip tabloids?

Don’t worry about it, he’s going to fizzle. This whole cult of personality that the media has built for him is just like a one night stand during a seperation. Soon the media will dump him when they remember their purpose for being, then they’ll go back to singing the praises of Shrillary.

Speaking of which, forget the content warning on the Swimmer, put it above the picture of her!

Wolfman on January 9, 2007 at 3:15 PM

Thar he blows.

bloggless on January 9, 2007 at 8:27 PM

If that’s suppose to be a photo of a sexy black man, I’m dumbfounded!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on January 10, 2007 at 8:47 AM
