I am a member of that group and it don’t think it’s “nice” in the least.
Nancy’s behavior exemplifies the reason that the condition called “hysteria” was linked with women–she’s gotten to the “top” of Congress by shrieking, shrewishness, tokenism and cronyism, not by sheer ability.
It’s no wonder President Ford, whose highest goal was to be Speaker of the House (like my Democrat relative Sam Rayburn), expired before he had to stomach Princess Nancy in that place!
Where was the feminist hoopla over Dr. Condi? Or Liddy Dole? Or Kay Bailey Hutchison?
For that matter, not only is Dem Jane Harman worlds smarter than Pelosi, so are Congresswomen Heather Wilson and Kay Granger!
Nancy was elected SPOTH so they could have just the photo op and love fest that we were all subjected to yesterday–disgraceful.
And for the cherry on the sundae, it was for the children! As if the Clintons didn’t beleaguer us with that for 8 long years…
I don’t have any children. Where’s my representation in D.C.?

Her giddiness during the entire ceremony was very uncomfortable to watch. Regardless of my personal feelings towards her politics, I hope she is going to lead the house with more maturity than that.

And fabulous 12mm golden south sea akoya pearl necklace, humble servant to the people! That necklace is worth $30,000 and that’s the second one I’ve seen she wears. (The first also has tahitian black pearls…) I really focus on this jewelry, maybe because Feinstain has similar necklaces and it all comes from China and Feinstain’s husband has questionable dealings with China…

Nancy needs to get over herself big time.
The Dhimms in Congress *had* to elect her Shreaker of the House after all her posturing about measuring Hastert’s office for drapes, “our party has to put a woman on the throne.,” etc. etc. etc.
Everything they do is posturing, window dressing and tokenism.
IMO, she comes across as the quentissential B*tchy Boss or Bossy B*tch, whichever you prefer.
She’s gonna give us all lots of headaces and heartburn, so load up on Excedrin and Pepcid…and popcorn.

You are right, great suits, I should have given credit where credit is due. But then, every person on the hill has a great tailor…they can afford it.

The ‘me first’ cheapens accomplishments. I’d love to see Nancy’s grade list, her personal accomplishments. Please don’t come back with “she was elected to bla, bla, bla”. That is the easiest part in her district, with her husband’s money and both their scruples.

I want to see reported all which happened in “Little Italy”, during that time, before she married well.

Empty speaker in empty suit, no matter how elegantly cut. Nothing in an expensive suit is still nothing.

I agree with you on women dressing well. Other than that I’m with right2bright because it serves us women and others better.

Back off honey, you do not know what group (your word) that I belong to. Glad to know that you group people, most liberals do.
If you think having a women in a position of power helps you, fine…I just don’t understand it. If you think having a black in a position of power helps the kids in South Central great. I have never seen the connection. It helps their kids, Jessie Jackson’s kids have done well. But he hasn’t helped the black kid in Atlanta or D.C. And Pelosi and her husband have made a lot of money. Your daughter will be a doctor or an attorney or a hairdresser, regardless of Pelosi or Rice. There is no connection.

He was stuck in New Orleans. They still haven’t correctly evacutated.

I have never understood this “I am proud that a (fill in the blank) was elected” comment. Shouldn’t we just be interested in the best person? Pelosi does not represent woman, she represents wealthy powerful people, married to wealthy powerful businessman. If she represented women, Jane Harman would be in the mix.

Good call, she reminds of the activist group in California trying to pass a law to increase the minimum wage. They were caught paying their employees less than minimum wage. The excuse? We couldn’t compete and get the votes needed to pass this bill if we paid them minimum wage, let alone more.
The democrats will sacrifice everything you have to achieve what they want.
I wonder why the dems in California are such avid supporters of Indian casinos?…Pelosi’s husband and slot machines? Naw, just another coincidence.
