Lieberman hater hijacks Connecticut for Lieberman Party

posted at 4:52 am on January 4, 2007 by Ian

It’s okay though, it’s a Democrat.

The party Sen. Joe Lieberman created to mount his independent re-election campaign has been seized by one of his critics, and the secretary of state’s office said Wednesday that it won’t challenge the takeover.

After the senator’s Nov. 7 victory under the Connecticut for Lieberman Party banner, John Orman switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Connecticut for Lieberman and voted himself chairman.

And their occupation:

Orman, a political science professor who ran briefly against Lieberman last year, said only critics, bloggers and anyone named Lieberman can join the party, which he said would be a watchdog of the senator’s actions.

Blowback

I don’t quite understand how this happens.

I assume Connecticut for Lieberman was a party with no members before this guy signed up? So now it’s a party with one member. I don’t think there are great growth prospects for this party….and I can imagine who the party-nominated 2010 candidate for Senate will be.

If that’s the case, I want to head the Hawk party of killing communists and other assorted dingbats (HOKCOAD)

I’m more worried about the political science professorship that this jagoff seized.

The tolerant, for-the-people Democratic party ladies and gentlemen.

Ian, pay attention: sleep (def) “a natural and periodic state of rest during which consciousness of the world is suspended”

That fence post in his @$$ has gotta hurt.

This is the democratic party at its best, eating their own.
This is going to be a great year.
Prediction: Joe switches to Republican within 14 months.

right2bright on January 4, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Joe is less than your standard socialist one precisely one issue, that of national defense. He is pro-gay, pro-abort, anti-death penalty; soft on crime, immigration, and fiscal restraint. There is a 0.0% chance of him turning Republican.

This story parallels nicely with Mother Sheehan commandeering the microphone at the Donk newsconference. The libs in-fighting will be quite entertaining over the next two years. Will this culminate in a 2008 Donk convention similar to Chicago 1968? Let’s sit back and watch.

but remember … they’re not shrill and insane.

One Angry Christian on January 4, 2007 at 10:42 AM

Actually, this is a great strategy. What would have been better though would have been to just start showing up for Senate meetings and for votes as Sen. Lieberman. Much like in the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Just when you think dems can’t get any funnier or wackier, is that a word, wackier? It is also a study in how their mind works. The democratic process played out, with Liebs being re-elected by the people. But this isn’t going to satisfy the dems, no way. To hell with the process, I’m going to hijack the winners organization and do everything I can to suppress the will of the people. Tolerance? That is the biggest lie running, that dems believe in tolerance. Look at Pelosi refusing to administer the oath of office to Vern Buchanan of Florida because they have issues with the voting-machines. The state of Florida certified him the winner but no King Nancy, Miss America, institutes her own ruling and makes herself the law. Not one repub that I know of is challenging an election result but can the same be said of the dems? Hell no, bitter losers and sore winners. Pelosi didn’t know how right she was when she said a dem victory would have children in charge of congress……..

Don’t bother me, I’m busy creating a machine that will mass produce “minor parties.” My production goal is to create at least 100,000,000 “minor parties” before the 2008 election. Membership in these parties will be open to all Democrats.
