Video: Sheehan, protesters shout down Dem press conference

posted at 7:31 pm on January 3, 2007 by Ian

Anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan interrupted a press conference by House Democrats . FOX News’ Major Garrett reports:

Iraq war protesters broke up a press conference by House Democrats on Wednesday with chants to bring American troops home from Iraq.

Chanting “de-escalate, investigate, troops home now,” the protesters disrupted a briefing aimed at outlining priority goals when Democrats take over the House and Senate on Thursday.

Look at Me! I’m an attention whore!

CrazyFool on January 3, 2007 at 7:36 PM

See, see!? You can’t pacify these people. If they get the Senate and Congress all they want is more, more, more. If we were to withdraw from Iraq, next they’d want us to burn our military bases and disband the military.

Sheehan, just. go. away.

This woman has no class. Shouting down a speaker is ignorent and not right regardless of the speaker’s party.

I do have to admit, though, it is nice to see someone else have to put up with these people.

I hate listening to her (can you imagine Cindy and Shrillary having an argument?), but I have to laugh every time the moonbats say things like “We put you in power” to the Democrats. Before the new Congress even takes office, no less. It’ll be fun watching them turn on each other, at least.

It will be fun to watch the dems try and put that foul mouthed genie back in the bottle. What’s even more hilarious is that Sheeman claims to own the dems and the dems get to deal with her for a long time to come. lol. I hope little “camp Caesey’s” pop up all over the place in the dems front yards.

The thing I’ve wondered for the longest time is whether she and her son were on good terms?

Because this level of hate for the Military doesn’t come from a single traumatic event. it takes a lifetime worth of indoctination to hate the military this much.

And with the fact that My dad Joined the Marines to go to Vietnam to get away from my grandparents….

I’ve just got to wonder.

Why can’t the Left find someone a tad more personable. She is just the dumbest, ugliest(not just in appearance), shrill, annoying person on the planet. No way I can click the link, just seeing her picture puts me in a worse mood.

The thing I’ve wondered for the longest time is whether she and her son were on good terms?

Touchy subject, that one. I’m sure it’s safe to say (at least) he loved his mom. Sometimes I find myself pulling punches on Cindy to show honor to her son.

But to the side, isn’t it wild that shouting over someone so that they can’t be heard is taken as defending free speech?

Axe on January 3, 2007 at 8:31 PM

as much as they would fantasize about the opportunity, that part where she got to just wander up to the daias and take possession of the presser would never have happened if it were a republican speaking.

there’s some behind the scenes stuff going on here; some rahm emmanuels v. the john conyers’ stuff.

jummy on January 3, 2007 at 8:35 PM

Reminds me of the results of arming and backing the Mujahadeed in Afghanistan – it was great when they were fighting the Russians. Could yield similar results for the Dems!

And so begins the cannibalization of the Democratic Party. Let’s party like it’s 1968!

BTW, shouldn’t Cindy’s “Peace Movement” be titled the Surrender Movement. She should call it like it is.

Mallard T. Drake on January 3, 2007 at 8:47 PM

We won’t know anything about these “new” Democrats until they start voting.
In the meantime, Cindy dahlink was only providing theatrics to what the Dems have been saying all along. Cindy, Inc. provides a dramatic show for the MSM – now the sedate politicians will shrug and claim, “See? we’re just doing what the masses want us to do. Defund the troops! Everyone into obligatory national service!” The politicians can act aloof of it all, if they perceive Cindy’s Act is getting on voter’s nerves.
But, don’t think we don’t love our soldiers as we tear them out of their jobs, refuse to give them the tools they need to fight with … and replace them with confused and ill-equipped draftees.
Where does she get her money to be in all the places all the time?

First of all I’m surprised mother Sheehan could pull herself away from her internet porn to show up at this silly side-show. But really, isn’t it fun to watch the left attack the left. All in all, it will be entertaining to watch the left contort, twist, and slither it’s way to 2008. The GOP has problems this is a certainty, but if anyone thinks the dems aren’t in even deeper yogurt just keep an eye out the next two years. This is a first for me, two parties with no real identities and no clue how they win or lose elections. The dems refused to acknowledge why they lost for 12 years and still don’t want to admit why they won this time. They won, as Thomas Sowell put it so brilliantly, on voter fraud. They ran so-called conservative democrats so liberals could run the leadership. And the GOP, as my Mob pals would say, fuhgetaboutit. They really believe it was only the Iraq war that lost them the election. Immigration and spending like drunken sailors were the two main catalysts, along with some local races dealing with corruption. Two parties with no idea on how they win or lose, what a comforting thing this must be for the American people…….

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend” –If the Old Dead Chinese Guy is right about this, then the GOP has a new buddy.

I always thought that the above version was an incorrect translation, and should read, “the enemy of my enemy is no longer my enemy”, but in English having the same word three times in a short sentence turns your mind into Temporary Mush.

I criticized her once on this blog, but cannot do so again. Her only son died when he was barely out of his teens. That alsmost happened to me, so I understand her un-hinged-ness, so she gets a pass.

Besides, now she’s deviced her sad wrath between Repubs ad Demos, and the media will take her down a few pegs

Coulda’ been worse. Sheehan coulda’ been wearing one of Paris Hilton’s skankification outfits. In spite of the horrific visual imagery conjured by that idea, I wish she WOULD dress like that. Maybe that way, we could get the censors to ban the videos of her appearances based on community standards of decency, and we wouldn’t have to see or hear her anymore.

Actually, this is an interesting development. She’s now turned her attention away from Republicans to Democrats who aren’t anti-war enough. There’s a chance Dem radicals will riot like in 1968, split the party and/or mess up its image even more, and we’ll wind up with another Republican president. Whether he/she will be better than Bush is another matter altogether.

JimC on January 3, 2007 at 10:53 PM

I love the fact that Momma Cindy is making life miserable for the Dems. The Dems are probably in shock wondering how this can be – after all, she is one of them – or is she?? I think the far left is going to be all over the Dems for the next two years. It will be fun to watch.

Apparently, we now have a government of Cindy Sheehan, by Cindy Sheeehan, and for Cindy Sheehan.

It’s her way or the highway, folks.

Makes me sick how the ELECTED official gives up, runs off and hides out of embarrassment, and Cindy Sheehan has her way with the microphone.

No, “ugly”, nothing is forbidden: I am not advising anyone else to do or not do anything regarding Sheehan–read what I actually wrote.

I said what I myself would not do, and why not: I understand that she is mentally ill, and deserves pity–and should not be taken seriously.

If you are angry at her, take a very close look at the non-crazy people who are using her. They’ve made her into a traveling freak show, but as her usefullness is mostly gone they will abandon her.

Janos Hunyadi on January 3, 2007 at 11:25 PM

Sorry, but Sheehan doesn’t get a pass. It is long past time that her habitual criminality be dealt with? How many times has she been arrested for doing her act (even in foreign countries, I think)? Doesn’t her continual criminal behavior accrete to a point where it has to be recognized and dealt with legally? Yes, of course she has a right to protest from here to Doomsday but a lot of her deranged communist rowdyism has been taking place on federal property and other areas high security areas. Does one get to commit an infinite number of misdemeanors simply because her handlers are always there to bail her out? Why isn’t she finally held accountable for her continuing disregard of the law? It’s time that this sick woman do some time. It might just be that she could get some much needed medical help in prison.

thegreatbeast on January 3, 2007 at 11:30 PM

Janos, my Eastern bloc friend, please reconsider.

In August of 2003 Casey Sheehan re-enlisted in the United States Army. He was fully informed that his unit would be deployed in the Iraq theatre at some time in the future. Casey belonged to the 1st Calvary where he plied his skills as a Humvee mechanic. On April 4th of 2005 Casey was killed in a place called Sadr City in Iraq. He was twenty four years of age. Indeed a Hero of the highest order and a young man that according to all accounts would make any mother or any American proud of him.

Note that Casey re-enlisted and knew what he was doing. He was raised by his father and the dad’s second wife, a very nice and conservative couple. The family rancour is what drove Cindy bonkers during life and threw her overboard after Casey’s death. The media and the liberals used her and now it’s too late.

It is really a tragedy but not one to excuse based on false premises.

She is an utter spectacle and only Hillary Clinton will set her straight, or use her more than anyone else to transition to her “I’ve always been against the war” status, since the “I would have voted against the war, with all the facts” didn’t work.

Well, it is a circus all right, and sort of entertaining to watch.

But as much as I despise Dems, and like seeing a monkey wrench thrown into their gears, them letting Cindy take over a press conference while they run and hide gives me even less hope than I had ten minutes ago for the survival of this Nation.

I seem to recall somebody at MoveOn.org saying after the 2004 election something like, “We bought this party; we own this party; and we’re taking it back!”

How prophetic.

The donkey party spent the last two years hugging the moonbat tar-baby, thinking that they could get their cash and votes without them demanding anything in return – and now seem dismayed that it’s hugging them back.

It’s time to pay the check, donkey boys and girls.

Winning an election against a Republican party bent on self-destruction was easy; comedy’s the hard part. But you’ve got momma Sheehan to help you out, so you’ve got a leg up.

Just remember when you hear the snickering in the room that we’re not laughing with you; we’re laughing at you.
