How is that acting like a lefty extremist? Obama has admitted using cocaine – something that a wide swath of society disapproves of. Cocaine is an extremely dangerous and addictive drug (much more so than marijuana or alchohol) and people absolutely have the right to question his judgement for using it – especially if he is asking us to put him in the highest office in the land.

If anyone is using lefty extremist tactics here, it’s you with your own attempt at ridicule those that would question Obama’s judgement.

Actually, a Republican (Bush) already was raked over the coals for cocaine use despite their being no evidence or admission thereof.

Be careful what you ask for. Lots of people lied about drug use when signing up for the bar, the military and a whole host of other jobs. Sooner or later a republican will be raked through the coals on the same type of issue.

If that was before he applied to the bar, he would have had to lie on the application when asked about previous drug use, that would be a nice one to try to explain away. I can’t wait for the election.

Is this really the kind of tactic that should be concentrated on knowing that the repercussions will be much stiffer? (whether a different standard is applied is not really the point, not much that can be done to change that).

Someone noted that they and their spouse didn’t use drugs. Good for them – I sincerely applaud their discipline in a tempting time. But statistics showthey were the distinct minority. There is roughly a 2 in 3 chance that anyone in the 40-60 age group has used drugs of some sort at some time. Want to get an unscientific sense of how widespread drugs were? Ask any college English professor who taught in that time frame how many “Legalize Pot” essays they had to grade.

Wonder if he was snortin it or smoking it? The stigma of smoking it would probably turn off more voters than snortin it.

Well he just lost the Pepsi vote. This will have no impact on whether he will or won’t be a presidential or VP candidate. If he were a repub, he’d be toast. But this will only add to his rock-star status in the dem party…

I’m 36 and I THINK I’ve smoked -maybe-a pack of Virginia Slims. I did have a problem with a LEGAL drug-diet pills-but I went cold turkey in 2003
I’ve NEVER tried anything “illegal”-nor has my 47 y. o. husband.
