God tells Pat Robertson to prepare for mass killing in 2007

Fortunately, it seems God has a sense of humor. Here’s what he told Pat last year:

In his report today, Robertson said, “Bush is going to strengthen in 2006. The fall elections will be inconclusive, but the outcome of the war and the success of the economy will leave Republicans in charge…. And Alito is gonna get confirmed. I believe another liberal judge is going to retire, step down from the Court; we’ll have another opening there. The war in Iraq is going to come to a successful conclusion, and we’ll begin withdrawing troops before the end of the year.”

Oh, Pat. Gotta love him.

Ian on January 2, 2007 at 11:13 PM

What’s sad is I think that if we had a fair media his predictions for last year would have been right.

RightWinged on January 2, 2007 at 11:17 PM

RW, you got it! how can we take that power from the media?

shooter on January 2, 2007 at 11:54 PM

I see gullible people.

God loves yanking his chain.

Ugly on January 2, 2007 at 11:56 PM

damnit how did he get on the Zionist WorldWide conspiracy mailing list?

Defector01 on January 3, 2007 at 12:12 AM

God loves yanking his chain.

LOL! Perhaps this is God’s way of reminding him how stupid he sounds.

A long time ago the leaders of my church were convinced the Lord Jesus would return in their lifetime because God supposedly told them so. Problem was - and still is, that no one, not even the Son of Man knows the day or the hour of His return.

Pat should stick to helping souls and leave the prophet business to someone else.

CliffHanger on January 3, 2007 at 12:16 AM

I think it was more late night indigestion rather than divine intervention.

Either that or Pats has special mushrooms on his pizza and the the sauna was a tad too hot.

Low blood sugar…..?

Kini on January 3, 2007 at 12:18 AM

*YAWN* I seem to recall around this same time last year he predicted some kind of horrible natural disaster in the pacific northwest in ‘06.

infidel4life on January 3, 2007 at 12:21 AM

The voice in Pat’s head reinforces his belief that God Himself selected GWB to lead our nation.

BTW, where’d you get that awful photo of our President? It’s the worst I’ve seen. I’d be interested to learn when that one was taken. My guess it was probably taken during the latter part of a press conference or maybe during one of the Bush/Kerry debates.

CliffHanger on January 3, 2007 at 12:25 AM

Are Pat’s eyes brown? Because he’s definitely full of sh*t.

ReubenJCogburn on January 3, 2007 at 12:29 AM

Mojave Mark on January 3, 2007 at 12:33 AM

Preacher FAKE. Prophet laughable.

Soothsayer on January 3, 2007 at 1:09 AM

Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a “mass killing” late in 2007.

100% chance that I will have a B-Day on a day in April.

I know that because God also talks to me.

People, people, don’t go running into the streets looking for rocks to hide under…BEHOLD! There is another,uh, voice, yes, that’s it…VOICE crying, such as it resembles crying, per se, OUT in the WILDERNESS…and hopefully, upwind….or is it downwind, I forget.

Jewel on January 3, 2007 at 2:15 AM

I predict that Pat Robertson will die, sooner or later.

Entelechy on January 3, 2007 at 2:17 AM

Funny, didn’t Ach-min-a-jihad say that in Feb. Iran would show the world they were a nuclear nation? So I guess God says they’ll wait till after September to use it? I wish we had that long.

A million voices crying out?

Geez, AP, I was right about you being a latent Star Wars junkie, wasn’t I?

shooter on January 2, 2007 at 11:54 PM

Honestly? I don’t think it’s possible. The blogosphere has had many great victories, but when it comes to the BIG things, the MSM still holds too much power. I’ve insisted for a long time that they weild far more power than any branch of government. The problem with that is, they lie… CONSTANTLY!

Why is the environment such that I would be thrilled to hear a network anchor recite WMD quotes made over the course of 13 years leading up to the war on an evening news broadcast? I think we blogger and blog commenter types forget sometimes that there is still a huge majority of people who just read headlines and catch the network news shows or a half hour of news here or there if they’re lucky. I wish we could get a real polling service to do a poll using the Democrat WMD quotes asking “who said this”, etc. Along the lines of Hannity’s man in the street things. Or like that “is Obama a threat to America” thing. WMDs is just a start, but that would be very telling, because I maintain that if a majority of people hadn’t been convinced that Bush lied/mislead any number of things would be different, first and foremost, the GOP wouldn’t have lost the House and Senate. Even if we were to say that WMDs weren’t there (which I don’t see myself EVER doing) at WORST it was bad intelligence. But sadly, the public doesn’t know it. Right down to simple “switcheroo” with the whole Plame thing. Wilson’s assertion that Bush lied because Saddam didn’t buy Uranium was retarded, but did the media make that clear? Bush’s contention that Saddam SOUGHT TO BUY the sh** was ACCURATE. But let Joe Wilson write an editorial that says Bush lied because he didn’t BUY it (though Bush never claimed that) and then you’ve got a snowball… I don’t know, getting worked up when I’ve got a decent buzz isn’t healthy… I’m out.

The one thing I really don’t understand about this news item is the significance of the photo on the page at CNN’s site. But questions of relevance aside, doesn’t Mad Magazine have a copyright on images of Alfred E. Neumann?

Kralizec on January 3, 2007 at 7:11 AM

OK Pat,

I’ll take your prediction of Mass Killing in 2007 and raise you the following.

An interest will be generated in the work of Nipsy Russell who thirty or more years ago appeared on television as really the first rap artist making up words that described incidents that happened on a TV show in the hour before he came on.

The Amazing Kreskin

there it is on January 3, 2007 at 8:26 AM

One of these years he will be right, then you’ll be sorry for not listening to him.
This is a perfect out for him. If there is no massive killings he will state that if you add up all of the killings around the world, that it was massive…how dare you dismiss all of those deaths around the world as being insignificant.
You would do better by going down to the local palm reader.

“Therefore,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. Yes,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, ‘The LORD declares.’ Jeremiah 23:30-31

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
Matthew 7:15

As a Christian I have to say that Pat Robertson is an embarrassment. I really wish he would keep his mouth shut. He also predicted last year that the east coast would be devastated in hurricane/flood. It’s people like Robertson that drove me away from Christianity in my college days. Fortunately God drew me back.

vcferlita on January 3, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Allah, your pic and caption on the front page were priceless.

You’re my first hero of 2007.

Ringmaster on January 3, 2007 at 9:07 AM

I’m convinced… Pat Robertson = Miss Cleo.

I seem to remember something from Sunday School about how Israel was supposed to deal with someone who had a “word of the Lord” that didn’t come to pass… something about killing the false prophet.

But ol’ Pat probably knows that better than me.

Lehosh on January 3, 2007 at 9:40 AM

Every side has their crazies right?

heh.

What kills me is that the left points to him like he’s the mainstream … are you SERIOUS!?!? Apparently they’ve never met a normal republican.

One Angry Christian on January 3, 2007 at 10:06 AM

As long as we’re quoting the Bible, try Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

18:20 But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’

18:21 And if thou say in thy heart: ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?’

18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Hey, dead-on! Snowstorm causes loss of power for some for over a week. This guy’s eerie! Kreskin, watch your back.

eeyore on January 3, 2007 at 10:18 AM

Preacher yes. Prophet no.

Preacher NO. Prophet NO. Charlatan YES!!
This guy has spent his adult life taking money (donations) mostly from people who can least afford to give it with the promise it will buy them into heaven. This is the way he got started and has turned their donations into a billion dollar empire. This is the guy who told people watching his television program to touch the screen and he would heal them of their illnesses. This is the guy who had a full-time gemologist on his payroll to appraise the gold and jewelry that people would donate. The story goes on and on but, trust me, he is not a man of God.

Hmm… My memo from God tells Pat to STFU… guess he didn’t get a copy of this one… (kidding)

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on January 3, 2007 at 10:37 AM

And God heard a voice callout in the wilderness, and the voice said, “It’s Pat Robertson God, my flock yearns to hear of your divine wisdom, your infinite knowledge, your hand to guide us into the future ….. tell us what awaits us dear God and how we shall prepare ourselves.”

And God said, “Pat who?”

fogw on January 3, 2007 at 11:01 AM

E L Frederick (Sniper One) on January 3, 2007 at 10:37 AM

Which is precisely why I prefer my talking collie over the voices that Pat Robertson has been hearing. At least I can tell my collie to STFU every once in a while. I suppose it must be difficult for poor Pat — not being able to tell God to STFU, and all.
/sarcasm off

BTW, that’s the smartest and most accurate quote that I’ve seen outta’ AllahP for quite some time, viz. “Fortunately, it seems God has a sense of humor.”

infidel4life on January 3, 2007 at 12:21 AM

Which, of course, had he been right, would have paled in comparison to the unnatural disaster that we have in the pacific northwest each and every single year, viz. liberal Democrats in charge of everything in Washington/Oregon.

CyberCipher on January 3, 2007 at 11:18 AM

Say Hi to Dionne Warwick for me. Of course she already knew I’d say that.

VikingGoneWild on January 3, 2007 at 11:46 AM

Thank you Pat…from the Right hollyweird.

Pat “Almighty”

I am so hoping that God has a serious sense of humor. The sectarian and religious nut jobs running around messing with our culture are deserving of a never ending nude soccer match on an electrified playing field. I know it sounds like hell and not heaven…c-:-0

God: Pat Robertson Is an Idiot

At least that’s what God told me last year

Opinionnation on January 3, 2007 at 1:05 PM

One other lesser reported prediction from Robertson is that the new SecDef Gates will be involved in a huge scandal and the media will finally be required to retire that threadbare suffix ‘-gate’ whenever referring to a new scandal. They would finally be forced to abandon that before uttering ‘Gates-gate’ as final proof of their lack of collective creativity.

OBX Pete on January 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM

And it is the fault of…the sheeple!

One other lesser reported prediction from Robertson is that the new SecDef Gates Speaker will be involved reported on a huge scandal soap from her past and it will be named “Little-Italy-gate”. Gate will have an entirely new meaning

pistolero on January 3, 2007 at 1:52 PM

Sorry to borrow from you pistolero (not really so sorry :) - but you reminded me…Regards,
