Dan Rather has “no problem” being on the same channel as soft porn

Rather says he has “no problem” with pornography airing on the same channel as his news show “Dan Rather Reports”. However, he adds, it wouldn’t be “appropriate viewing” in the Rather household.
Billionaire Mark Cuban’s multimedia company, 2929 Entertainment, has lots of big ideas.
### But the latest product in Cuban’s revolutionary pipeline isn’t quite as highbrow. It’s Perfect 10 Model Boxing, a porn-magazine-branded hour in which scantily clad ladies jab and punch each other, which premiered on HDNet in 2006 and will be released on DVD (“12 Girls! 6 Fights! Unrated Extras”) on January 2. “HDNet’s goals are to add programming that catches people’s attention,” says Cuban. “It may be fun or serious.”
From the Tiffany Network to Cuban’s soft-porn circus. How low can ya go, Dan?

That boxing show sounds awesome, and as far as we know never promoted fake documents to affect the outcome of a presidential election. So it’s got more credibility than Dan Rather does.

Pornography, propoganda, these are just big words that start with “P”.

I thought soft porn was what he was doing before he retired. Where’s the story here?
GPE on January 2, 2007 at 3:10 PM
dan … who?
One Angry Christian on January 2, 2007 at 3:18 PM
Is the porn on before, during or after Dan?
infidel on January 2, 2007 at 3:20 PM
Dan Rather is not apprpriate viewing in my household. The jury is out on babes boxing. I might actually watch. Depends on what kind of purse they’re fighting over.
JammieWearingFool on January 2, 2007 at 3:21 PM
I thought Dan had crumbled up and blown away. And now lives as a dust bunny under his bed.
Is there any such thing as soft porn, I mean it porn, right?
The good stuff is when you’re disgusted, but keep watching.
Can the View be considered soft porn also?

Hey, why complain? If they’re back to back it’ll help his ratings!

Babes & Blather. Cuban provides fair and balanced programming.
Perfect 10 Model Boxing.
Absolute Zero News Reporting.

Say what you will about Dan Rather and Mark Cuban, but you gotta admit from a programming standpoint hot bikini babes duking it out in 1080i HD is a genius lead-in for a lame news show.
The obvious joke here: They don’t call it “hard news” for nothing.

I get HDNet and I have NEVER seen anything like that on there, and believe me, my boyfriend would have found it by now if it was there.

The reason he doesn’t mind is BECAUSE HE *IS* A WHORE!

I wonder if the model boxers feel that their show airing on the same channel as “Dan Rather Reports” hurts their credibility.
Buzzy on January 2, 2007 at 5:54 PM
Soft-core porn, huh? Isn’t that just another way to say that the pornography is “fake, but accurate.” How apropos.
(Sorry — but somebody just HAD to say it.)

How low??? This is a big step up for Dan. Haven’t you ever watched network television?
Griz on January 2, 2007 at 6:24 PM
Dan has “courage”.
Entelechy on January 2, 2007 at 7:23 PM
The idea of “channels” as we know them is becoming obsolete with the invention of DVR/PPV/On Demand/online viewing. Even as just a joke on rather this story has no legs
Resolute on January 2, 2007 at 7:29 PM
Dan’s always been “blue” anyway.
doingwhatican on January 2, 2007 at 7:43 PM
I don’t see how anyone can look at this guy and not laugh..just a little. He has shown us his lack of standards…and if it means some air time, he’ll go on whatever, whenever, however he can.
I thought for sure once it came to light on how his reporting sucked eggs, he’d be just a little humbled. But nope! Arrogant idgit.
Highrise on January 2, 2007 at 11:39 PM
Well truth be told, this makes perfect sense to me. Dan Blather and porno? Hell, he fu@#ed republicans for years while on CBS……..fake documents anyone?????????
ritethinker on January 3, 2007 at 12:22 AM
In contrast to Dan, Tom Brokow retired earlier than he had to and is kind of a media elderly figure with respect.
Today he spoke eloquently at the Ford funeral services, at the Washington cathedral, and President Clinton cried.
It was at the point of what great human traits Mr. Ford had. Mabybe Mr. Clinton cried for himself…

Maybe the network can call Dan Rather’s show “Journalists Gone Wild” and have a nightly “Fake But Accurate” segment. Heck, we’ve only begun to explore how Bush rigged the World Trade Center to explode, flew a robot plane into the Pentagon, and recruited Bin Laden as a CIA agent. If we let Dan go he can probably tell us how Bush was behind those crop circles and was spotted on the Grassy Knoll.

Some funny comments here-Ratherporn brings out the best in your comic sensibilities. This is actually a move that makes sense for Dan-all of his CBS “News” efforts to take down a sitting President was like soft porn for the Democrats.
