The less respectable a celebrity is, the more respect they demand.

In other words, at least two thirds of “celebrity class” women are less vain about their appearance than typical women. And that’s supposed to demonstrate narcissism?

The key is “far more” narcissitic. Picture a bell curve for “regular people”. Picture a point on the right side of the curve where 95% of the area under the curve is to the left of that point, 5% to the right. Now draw the “celebrity” bell curve shifted to the right such that 30% of that curve lies to the right of where 5% of “normal people” would be.

At least that’s my interpretation. Insert regular disclaimers about data possibley not fitting a bell curve, etc.

This is so true. The problem becomes obvious when Hollywierd celebrities open their mouths without a script in front of them. As soon as they do, everyone immediately discovers that they truly are inadequate, and shouldn’t be let out without a keeper.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

In other words, at least two thirds of “celebrity class” women are less vain about their appearance than typical women. And that’s supposed to demonstrate narcissism? That’s just like saying some group is dumb because up to a third of them are less than average intelligence.

Is the study that flawed, is or this typical Old Media innumeracy?

Now can we have a study explaining why celebrities give their children names more appropriate for a pet? Apple, Scout, Rumor, Moxie Crimefighter, etc.
