He kept going OVER and over the fact that GHWB was photographed shaking hands with Saddam Hussain. BFD. Who cares, Alan Corpse? I’m beginning to really believe Alan is truly mentally retarded.

Saddam more valuable alive? Gimme a freakin’ break!

Excellent point. Liberals seem to think we live in a static world where nothing can or should be allowed to change. For example:

1. The Earth's temperature must never change. Dispite the fact the the Earth once warmed up enough to emerge from the last ice age (a while before the industrial age,) it could never warm up again or experience any temperature fluctuations over time unless mankind was causing it.

2. Because the US once worked with the Saddam regime at a time when we had mutual interests in opposing Iran, we therefore are never allowed to oppose the Saddam regime when those interests change. I suppose that is why they always opposed the Cold War - because we helped Stalin during WWII so it was therefore wrong to ever oppose him afterward (oh yeah, and they really liked Communism as an idea.)

Saddam's execution - good or bad, was necessary. Further argument really not needed - either way it doesn't matter as he is dead and we have to face the consequences of that, better or worse.

Letting it become an al-Sadr pep rally was very, very bad.

Sends the wrong message, you know.

[...] The Moderate Voice (your dust is pardoned, folks) looks at how history is shaping up as we speak. It’s an interesting glimpse at how varying accounts can come out of the same event. I’d submit that simply watching the video is enough. In fact, I’d highly recommend watching the video (with or without the actual hanging) before reading any articles one way or the other.
[...] As most of you know by now, Saddam was executed last night in Iraq. Allah has a great round up of updates, as well as a video of the evil dictator walking to his death. The London Times has a 4 page obit that details in length the evil this man spewed upon the world, starting when he was young. There is also the predictable response from the left, which is somehow still disturbing. The NYT’s John Burns says: As I write this, flying hurriedly back to Baghdad from an interrupted Christmas break, Saddam makes his own trip to the gallows with an indecent haste, without the mercy of family farewells and other spare acts of compassion that lend at least a pretense of civility to executions under law in kinder jurisdictions. From all we know of the preparations, Saddam’s death was to be a miserable and lonely one, as stark and undignified as Iraq’s new rulers can devise. [...]

As a pro-life, my position is not justification of his crime. I'm against the death penalty. You cannot take away life since you did not create it. Have any of you wathced the Laramie Project? I highly reccomend it. It will give a true sense of life. How important it is? Killing Saddam will not bring back the dead.

the really great thing about martyrs is that they’re dead.

Saddam was an abused child? As Michelle might say, boo-freakin-hoo! Does that in any way justify him maiming, torturing, raping, and murdering millions, including children? Not to any sane adult, it doesn’t.

Two great points. However, Saddam is martyr. The number of troops that we'll die as a result makes being a martyr irrelevant. And I did not justify Saddam's action. I just put some the so-called human aspects into him. Remember his last words: "Do not hate the invaders or whatever." I wanted him to be given an opportunity to reconcile with his people.

Guys. Dream up.

Dream about dancing around saddam's dead body tonight. It is great entertainment. You are all freedom fighters. Speaking death to power.

Peace. Ya'll.

As a pro-life, my position is not justification of his crime. I’m against the death penalty.

The number of troops that we’ll die as a result makes being a martyr irrelevant. And I did not justify Saddam’s action. I just put some the so-called human aspects into him. Remember his last words: “Do not hate the invaders or whatever.” I wanted him to be given an opportunity to reconcile with his people.

Guys. Dream up.

Dream about dancing around saddam’s dead body tonight. It is great entertainment. You are all freedom fighters. Speaking death to power.

Peace. Ya’ll.

“Look at Saddam early life. He was a mistreated child. He struggled to show his unpleasant environment that he is greater than it.

Don't give me that tired crap. I am so tired of hearing that flawed rational. We was abused as a child. He grew up poor. So what! We all have choices, and by that line of thinking anyone that thinks they had it rough as a kid should be out murdering, and knocking over liquer stores. I have a rough time growing up, and we were very poor. I learned from that experience, and I have made myself better. If I go on a shooting spree, the fact that I had a bad childhood doesn't negate the fact that I went on a shooting spree.
People like Saddam either think that the world owes them something, or they simply hurt people to make themselves feel better about themselves. He was the leader of a country, and he didn't care about his people. He only cared about money and power, because those were the things that that boosted, in his mind, his own self worth.
You see it every day in this world, and you can either accept that bad people do bad things, and they need to be punished for those misdeeds, or you can be like the people of Iraq, and live in fear.
Saddam paid for his crimes. I'm Happy about it. I'm extatic... Good ridance!

Saddam was an abused child? As Michelle might say, boo-freakin-hoo! Does that in any way justify him maiming, torturing, raping, and murdering millions, including children? Not to any sane adult, it doesn't.

Don't give me that tired crap. You have choices in this world, and he chose to hurt people to make himself feel better about his own inadiquasies. By that line of thinking, everybody that has had a bad childhood should be a serial killer or liquer store robber. He just happened to rise to power in Iraq, and he was brutal. Why, to make himself feel better. He didn't care about his people, just the way he saw himself, and other people saw him. I had a bad child hood, would it be Justified if I went on a killing spree? The other half take that experience, and use that knowledge for doing good in this world, those are the ones you should admire for having endured a tough life, not the ones that hurt people for their own selfish reasons.
