One thing I am wondering: AP seems to think there is nothing wrong with printing stories from imaginary sources, so how long have they really been doing it, before the Blogosphere appeared to expose them? How much, for instance, of the “news” during the Vietnam War was simply made up from whole cloth?

Another, more academic question regards the use of AP by modern historians. For historians, references and sources are everything. No respectable historian would stand in front of his collegues and say “so and so is true, just trust me.” Given how diametrically opposite this mentality is to that of AP and its sister organizations, can a historian credibly or even ethically use such “news” accounts as primary source material? Or should he consider any such report as unreliable unless confirmed through other sources?

We also wonder if we can trust any AP report from the Middle East.

And THAT is the point of debunking.

It’s not like we’re asking them to print propaganda in support of US actions… (Though that would be both nice and honorable.)

But could they at least stop printing terrorist propaganda/lies and maybe be even-handed?

I could be easily satisfied by the AP.

They don’t need to fight for us, but at least stop helping the murderous madmen.

At this point, I’d settle for “talking” to one of the “many” AP journalists who’ve met with Jamail -in his own office even. As yet, we still don’t know any of their names.

As I said in a message to Curt, there’s something fishy when information from a “named” source only comes via unnamed journalists (possibly by way of unnamed stringers).

Who are these “middle men”?

In my opinion AP, a MSM component, is “reporting” in manner and content that which is compatable with their political bias and agenda, regardless of facts and truth. When their “reporting” is under scrutiny and criticism they are attempt to dismiss any question of their “professional ethics” as unfounded, “offensive”, and made by “Mad Blog Rabble” (thats us).

I believe Imperial Executive Director Majesty Kathleen Carroll wishes make benefit Glorious Impervious Associated Press and Supreme Magnificence Propaganda. Imperial High Egg Layer Queen attempts by kill credibility of ungrateful ignorant peasants that don’t believe everything printed on Page Golden Printed.

The “Mad Blog Rabble” (that’s us) can respond by continuing to question every piece of AP’s biased propaganda, encourage those who are not ignorant serfs to patronize other news media, and make a deliberate choice to purchase from vendors other than those that support Her Imperial Majesty, Kathleen Carroll of the AP.

Hot Air could support such an effort by telling us, the “Mad Blog Rabble”, exactly who are AP’s major advertisers and supporters and perhaps even brand names of products they wish to promote.
