Video: James Brolin plugs 9/11 conspiracy site on “The View”

posted at 8:44 pm on December 28, 2006 by Allahpundit

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Tim Graham and Newsbusters for having caught this when it re-aired two days ago. It would have disappeared from my Tivo at midnight if they hadn’t mentioned it today.

We’d heard the rumors, but not until now did we know for sure. I’ll make you click through to Tim’s post for the transcript, but suffice it to say, Rosie did indeed earn her pay that day with the quick segue after Brolin took his surprise detour into Nutsville.

Exit question: what are we to assume from the fact that neither Barbra nor Barbara demanded that this segment be edited out of the show when it re-ran?

You try looking at Babs for as long as this poor schlep has and you are bound to get nutty too!

NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on December 28, 2006 at 8:49 PM

I think that he answered his own question about why the country is so divided.

It’s nut bags and believe anything bad about Bush loonies like him that drive the biggest, least needed wedges. And he was smiling as he did it, cause he’s a fruit.

RalphyBoy on December 28, 2006 at 8:52 PM

The View is going the way of Air America.

R D on December 28, 2006 at 9:03 PM

Doesn’t Barbras face just sum it up for you? Now that is a snub!

Amen – even the money can’t be worth it.

Naaaaaaahhhhh – that’s the same look the clinically insane get – the glazed eyes, the spacey look, etc..

The View is going the way of Air America.

R D on December 28, 2006 at 9:03 PM

Too late – they were there years ago.

This is good for comic entertainment, though.

Emmett J. on December 28, 2006 at 9:23 PM

I went to the website he mentioned, out of sheer, morbid, curiosity.

I need cleansing.

CrimsonFisted on December 28, 2006 at 9:24 PM

I went to their webiste too. I guess these morons tired of the UFO conspiracies, needed something new.

stonemeister on December 28, 2006 at 9:44 PM

This bum is a certified moron but then he is married to Babs, and that would be enough to drive anyone totally insane.

rplat on December 28, 2006 at 9:48 PM

Whether we like it or not (and i don’t) The View is apparently getting much better ratings with Rosie than it did with Meredith.

The reality is that politics is cylical, and right now most Americans are with the left, so this stuff sells.

Barbara Walters is a liberal, but she’s never struck me as a tin-foil hatter. So my guess would be that she’ll put up with it as long as the ratings are good. If/when they go down, she’ll put a stop to it.

I meant the view would be going off the air, for the same reasons.

R D on December 28, 2006 at 10:03 PM

I love how this lefty wacko apouts his anti-American b.s. yet he made his money (besides marrying Babs’ money) by playing a heroic Marine Corps fighter pilot / Squadron Commander in a show called “Pensacola”.

I’m waiting for him to say that he’s against the war and he has absolute moral authority because he played a Marine on TV.

Tony737 on December 28, 2006 at 10:04 PM

Barbara Walters has to be thinking about a new show. This stuff is getting ridiculous. Then again the money is good.

When is someone going to take these idiots on?

One thing this segment answers is about the pillow talk with this moron and Babs. We already knew Babs was a nut, but this may be a prelude to Babs coming out in public support for 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

With all of the sites out there, you have to ask why he would “promote” this one. Does (and Babs) have an $investment?

Agrippa2k on December 28, 2006 at 10:09 PM

One more thing, Brolin is worthless and his wifey Barbara apparently did a porno before she was famous. I’ve seen it and it sure looks like her. I don’t want to get sued, so i won’t say for sure that it’s her, but i’ve never seen a nose like that on anybody else.

Scot on December 28, 2006 at 10:12 PM

Is he somebody important?

shaken on December 28, 2006 at 10:24 PM

RD – I know, just supporting you in a different way. We’re on the same page. Too bad Air Viewmerica isn’t.

Perhaps it will go off air and we’ll get….

The Rosie channel!

All rosie all the time – could even replace the Oxygen channel.

Emmett J. on December 28, 2006 at 10:25 PM

For actors and actresses, these folks sure do a piss poor job of acting intelligent.

Dusty on December 28, 2006 at 10:26 PM

Brolin married Barbra, so straightaway we can question his mental capacity.

These self-aggrandizing hollywood stiffs live in a fantasy world, so we shouldn’t be surprised when their take on the events of 9/11 is just another fantasy concocted to feed their inflated egos and generate applause and adoration from their braindead fans.

fogw on December 28, 2006 at 10:33 PM

I think it’s funny how he tries to establish his bona fides by claiming his parents were Republicans; then he started to think for himself. Let’s remember that the Republican party prior to Reagan was a pack of elitist snobs. Reagan pulled in the “Religious Right”, neocons, and blue-collar workers that had been snubbed by the ultra-left Democrats.

Instead of thinking for himself, I think Brolin married a snobby, elitist prima donna (Oedipus complex?) who tells him what he thinks and how much.

Barbara spit up a hairball backstage!!!

Mellen on December 28, 2006 at 10:52 PM

What the f*#k are we going to do with grandpa?

x95b10 on December 28, 2006 at 10:53 PM

Well,Granpa needs to have a rich fantasy life to turn to when he goes home to the beast who sings, so in that little world he goes to there are trolls that tell him stories about the mean people who actually have some personal responsibility.

bbz123 on December 28, 2006 at 11:04 PM

1) Brolin was dumb enough to marry Streisand.

2) Brolin was probably looking for something to stuff in his ears while Babs was singing in the shower, and the only thing handy was a screwdriver….So 1 + 2 =

3) Pray for the poor man.

hillbillyjim on December 28, 2006 at 11:17 PM

Nothing says “I’m a creepy jerk who abuses small animals” like referring to vile conspiracy paranoia websites in a TV interview about your dead-and-buried acting career.

Merovign on December 28, 2006 at 11:41 PM

Brolin did a TV series called “Wings of Gold,” about a USMC Air Wing.

He and his wife are idiots.

georgej on December 29, 2006 at 12:22 AM

I want some of what he’s smoking!

Kini on December 29, 2006 at 12:29 AM

Why are some of us suggesting that Barbara WaWa is having a problem with all of this junk on the View? It’s her show; she pulls the levers.

The only logical conclusion is that she is loving it. Why on earth would you conclude anything else?

Jaibones on December 29, 2006 at 12:52 AM

All rosie all the time – could even replace the Oxygen channel.

With rosie around there is no oxygen left…

I know where to go for the latest in political analysis, insightful and thought-provoking conversation, and all the hard-hitting news I can handle: why…the post-menopausal hags at The View and their crazy cadre of shrieking moonbat guests.

Poor Elizabeth Hasselbeck; she never saw it coming.

Black Adam on December 29, 2006 at 2:21 AM

“We were Americans. Now we’re split and arguing. So who’s fault is that?”

…sure, we were united – I vividly remember the election of 2000. Such unity! And now this!

“…my grandpa…my parents were Republicans…I began thinking for myself” – then he follows up with the 9/11 conspiracy. He made his point ‘logically’. I’m sold 100%!

what are we to assume from the fact that neither Barbra nor Barbara demanded that this segment be edited out of the show when it re-ran?

…that an ‘a’ doesn’t make much difference. I only watch the View bits you share here – from them Barbara Walters looks transfixed and ‘adoring’ of any liberal pap. She’s either turned senile or buys into all of it. Consider the audience – same as or better than soaps’…

Entelechy on December 29, 2006 at 2:22 AM

Looking at that screenshot, I have to ask–when did James Brolin turn into Peter Falk?

ReubenJCogburn on December 29, 2006 at 3:18 AM

Did anyone see where I put my roll of tinfoil??

Viper1 on December 29, 2006 at 5:43 AM

OK…so how many Hollyweird types have revealed themselves to be truthers? So far I know of Brolin and Charlie Sheen. Who else? I’m sure there are more.

flipflop on December 29, 2006 at 6:26 AM

Well, flipflop, while that may be true it i also true that there are many who loathe these people but stay silent due to their desire to land jobs there.Bonaducci said he knows this to be true, and I belive it,being on the peripheries of the industry myself. BTW he is taking over Adam Corolla’s radio gig this week, should be interesting.

bbz123 on December 29, 2006 at 8:36 AM

That site is full of the same debunked arguments. If anything, this old fart is proof that the American Education needs some serious help in terms of critical thinkings.

MarkyX on December 29, 2006 at 8:44 AM

When am I going to learn……I lose a brain cell everytime I watch The View clips and now I can’t drink this weekend because I might lose another one!

Thanks for Nuthin!

PS EH needs to quit being so nice and become the Designated Whip! Start crushing people and make them cry!

Brolin explained: “My grandmother and my grandfather, and my mother and father were Republicans. And I started thinking for myself.”

EH……your line should have been, “Obviously that’s not working you. Do us all a favor and say Hi to the Chief and Nurse Ratched for us!”

VikingGoneWild on December 29, 2006 at 8:53 AM

Babs has Alan Alda-ized him.

How does The View remain on TV?

Hilts on December 29, 2006 at 9:06 AM

Poor Elizabeth Hasselbeck…

Black Adam on December 29, 2006 at 2:21 AM

Not so much, I think. She’s a doll, but where does a pretty girl whose resume is “Survivor” go to make this kind of money for basically sitting around laughing at the animals?

I think she’s just fine with it. Would like to see a clip here with Liz going gangster on one of the retard hosts or guests, just for a change of pace.

Jaibones on December 29, 2006 at 9:17 AM

Tinfoil hats for the view.

right2bright on December 29, 2006 at 9:23 AM

entertainer
–noun 1. a singer, comedian, dancer, reciter, or the like, esp. a professional one.
2. a person who entertains; host;a person who tries to please or amuse.

I think most of us realize that these entertainers come from a lineage that started off most probably in the Middle Ages as fools/jesters in the court of some King/Queen that needed some happiness/laughter to get his/her mind off the Black Plague, Cholera or some other pandemic invasion or maybe the Moors invading their lands.

Is it any wonder that the ethos of these folks is to distract us from what they consider to be modern day catastrophies. They don’t actually provide a solution or take any action but are more likely to cower in comfort while someone else protects them. After all, wasn’t President B.J. one of the best entertainers to hold the office. He, unlike President Reagan or G.W.Bush, just talked a good game……and talked and talked and talked.

And BTW, anybody captured by this nonsense (The View) is just as foolish.

USN6872 on December 29, 2006 at 9:29 AM

Mr. Streisand allowed to hold Rosie’s hand, do the SUCK-UP
and blame the USA. Typical of Hollywood.

Marcus Welby , Call your assistant . He’s going intergalactic or possibly French

Poor Elizabeth Hasselbeck; she never saw it coming.

I get the impression that the View doesn’t even cater to legitimate moonbats. I can respect a true moonbat (i.e., someone who is informed on the issues and is for some reason drawn to the idiotic leftist dogma) even though I may despise them. But Rosie and the View audience are so exemplary in their ignorance, that it is almost unfitting to put them in the same category with intelligent moonbats, such as a typical Marxist college professor.

As for Elizabeth, she probably had more intelligent conversations with the naked guy on that island.

Coyote D. on December 29, 2006 at 3:26 PM

The View has JUMPED THE SHARK and the Trump-Rosie debacle is the final wave……………Ciao baby!!!

Walters actually looks like she’s going to gag.

Interesting look on her face IMO.
