I hope the US advisor gets a medal for saving his Iraqi comrade. Any way to get more advisors embedded with the Iraqis going after Mookie himself? Keep shootin' gents. There's plenty of ammo left.

Good shooting to who ever shot him. I'd give him a medal and he wouldn't have to worry about paying for his drinks with me.

Sadr's main problem is that he has nothing really other than his father's name. But in that culture, respect for the father is paid by respect for the son. Our main problem is that to hit him would be to enrage the Shiite population because it would be seen as disrespectful of his father who was a very well loved Ayatollah, even more so than Sistani is today. It appears that while we can not hit him directly until he is caught red handed in criminal acts, we can hit his underlying support structure. It makes it hard to recruit new henchmen if your old henchmen keep turning up dead.

Assuming that those he trusted most were already closest to him, as we knock these people off, they are probably being replaced by people he trusts less. So even if he manages to replaced lost people in his organization, the organization itself might be degraded by this replacement process with the second string. These aren't people who train for these positions, they are cronies. Now he is going to his second string of cronies.

Add to that problem the hard intelligence we apparently obtained from the Iranians and the huge weapons caches we have been uncovering (tens of thousands of rounds of small arms ammunition for example) and it begins to look like some serious erosion of his support base is in progress. As more of his circle is taken out and his ability to influence people by intimidation is diminished, expect his level of relevance in Iraqi politics to diminish as well. But all of that will take time to seep through the culture and our news media is not time friendly.

<strong>Knock, Knock, is anyone home?...</strong>

The old expression about too many cooks in the kitchen fits very well here. There are too many bosses, too many parties that Maliki needs to keep happy and too many militias threatening the families of those that oppose their views....

<blockquote>You’re damn right he’s scared.</blockquote>
I think Al-Sadr is going to be laying low for a while, considering there's a whole Airborne BRIGADE on alert in Kuwait.

Mahadi Madrassa Teacher - "That's odd. Looks like those guys are way off course."

I knew immeadiately something was not right the night he was taken clandestanly in 2003 from that Mosque by a UN contingent. The sooner that F**ker Sadr is dead the better. End of comment. End of problem.

You're damn right he's scared. I'd be scared to if I heard bullets being fired around me knowing that I might be next. We should take this guy out and hang Sadaam at the same time. How about New Years eve night at midnight. We could count down with Dick Clark as the big ball comes down in Times Square. At midnight -poof - they're both gone.
Happy New Year!!!!

Another "Number 2" taken down? Outstanding! I like to think that the U.S. Soldier who took him out put two in his chest and one in his head. Omar's number 2 and now Mookie's number 2. Nice work Troops! (Shouldn't Omar himself be a Number 2, I mean's HE'S the one with the eye patch! FLUSH THE NUMBER 2!

Speakin' of number two, my little Princess Tiara just made one! Peeeeyeeeew! I feel like the guy from the DunkinDonuts commercial - "Time to change the diapers."

I dunno. He might be a tad bit worried. Those Iranians we captured with their videos and maps and photograps (with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what ... oh nevermind) might have provided us with some hard information we could use to justify bustin his chops good. He might have just been caught with his hands in the cookie jar bigtime Maliki might not even appreciate what he could be finding out.

Interesting to note the absolutely huge weapons caches we discovered shortly after we got those Iranians.

Sadr might have reason to be minding his p's and q's at the moment. Of all the potential players in Iraq, Sadr would have the most to gain from Iranian backing. Sadr is trying to trade on his father's name (his father was Grand Ayatollah) but he himself has little religious training. The real power lies with the clerics. He would be vulnerable to offers of Iranian backing to prop him up. If he got caught at it, his political support might get pulled out from under him. At some point he needs to choose a side ... is he an Iranian stooge or is he an Iraqi? I think that might be what is going on at this point and he needs to play like he is a patriotic Iraqi.

<blockquote>Its simple Sadr sees the democrats forcing the US to leave and Iraq will be come sadrland. He doesnt want a confrontation now when he is so close to being handed the country.</blockquote>

Yup. He wants his boy Maliki concentrating on the Sunnis, so his vaunted militia will have less of a challenge when the dhimmis pull out U.S forces.

He'll be facing no cakewalk though, with all of the sectarian, foreign-induced infighting that will surely follow our departure. So losing his "right-hand" man is probably seen by Sadr as an inconvenience in the overall scheme of things.

(Plus he probably really isn't THAT happy about the thought of a well-placed round sending him on his way to his 72 virgins just yet.)

This comments, and others that I have not included, are clever, and funny!

Thanks for the laugh!

<blockquote>Good thing they didn’t claim he was Sadr’s dentist. Nobody would buy that cover story.
