The Lonely Senator

posted at 9:30 am on December 27, 2006 by Bryan

Heh.

Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. He cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.

Go see the full-size photo over at Powerline. I’ve never seen a snubbing so richly deserved.

CrimsonFisted on December 27, 2006 at 10:01 AM

As you said, he got what he deserved.

By the way, it wasn’t just the “joke” that led to his being snubbed. Those who fight know EXACTLY who Kerry is, and how he betrayed them from 1970 on. They know everything — Paris, “winter soldier,” the plot to kill 6 US Senators, the lies about the consequences if South Vietnam were to fall to the Communists, how he helped “bury” the POWs left behind as Chair of the select subcommittee on POW/MIA’s by burying the evidence that they still existed.

All of it. They know….

How he voted AGAINST EVERY weapons system. How he sided with the Soviet Union on the “nuclear freeze.” How he supported the Communist Sandinistas.

And they know damn well that he was just in Syria illegally “negotiating” with our enemy.

The military voted overwhelming AGAINST Kerry in 2004, and this snubbing shows that they would still vote that way again.

There is a VOLUNTEER sheet for “mess photos-ops” over there, Hunky Husband tells me. Chow time is considered your own time, so they don’t “volunTOLD” troops. Bad fro morale. There are usually plenty, PLENTY for politicians of different stripes. However……

I think this photo speaks voluminous VOLUMES about what the troops think of him. THIS PHOTO is one for the 08 trove…

This is rich

but I’m sure the Kerry supporters will soon use the same spin as that pic of Mommy Sheehan at a book signing no one showed up to …

It’s the photographer conspired to take the photo at an angle that merely makes it look like Kerry is alone…and all the grateful troops that were sitting with him went to the potty at the same time.

Our pilots could have refused to fly him out of there, then he would be stuk in Irak.

infidel4life on December 27, 2006 at 11:42 AM

That is awesome, and yet totally unsurprising–the troops know who really supports them and who doesn’t. Kerry’s record speaks for itself, and they’re quite familiar with it. But that P.O.S. will still come back to the States and claim that he met with millions of troops over there, and how they all loved him, and how they thought his “joke” was the funniest thing ever. I can’t imagine a more tone deaf politician.

ReubenJCogburn on December 27, 2006 at 11:46 AM

I’m sure there were plenty of service men and woman there that would have been more than happy to shoot him in the ass, but they probably all got together ahead of time and agreed that they didn’t want to see him receive another purple heart. Besides, if he got wounded, then instead of hearing hin say “Did you know that I served in Vietnam?” we’d all have to listen to him say “Did you know that I served in Iraq? See. Here’s my medals. Wanna’ see me throw them away?”

This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt (if there was any, which I don’t think there was…) that his decision making skills are so abysmal that he is ineligible to serve as president. How could be not anticipate this after accusing our finest of terrorizing women and children, calling them uneducated, then fraternizing with our enemy? I understand these are requirements for democratic senators, but prez – me thinks not.

I have said it before – A very small part of me actually feels sorry for this DOPE. He is completely out of touch with how he is perceived. After his misunderdelivered joke – one would think that there would be an opening in his haze. That he then decides to go on an tax payer funded Treason Tour leaves me only 3 possible explainations-

1 – He has smoked too much dope
2 – Still smokes too much dope
3 – Lives on a higher plane than us and really doesn’t care

I am betting on 2 -

iam7545 on December 27, 2006 at 2:17 PM

Finally, the next morning, Senator Kerry ate chow at the Dining Facility. Normally when a Senator/Representative visits, he is joined by a contingent of soldiers/Marines/airmen from his home state. Despite the fact that the MP unit responsible for Green Zone security is an Army Reserve unit from Massachusetts, not a single soldier went to sit with him.

Of course they didn’t. Massachusetts, as a whole, does not support the military. Quite opposite, in fact. Those of us who served are accutely aware of this attitude.

I just got an email from my brother in Iraq who said they were all avoiding the Senator like the plague.

KelliD on December 27, 2006 at 3:31 PM

It’s no surprise that he had no press conference. The transcript called for him to stand up and tell the Iraqi young people:
“Study hard and you’ll do well. If you don’t, you’ll end up a member of Al-Qaeda — and stuck in Gitmo.”

Waffles couldn’t bring himself to say it though, because he doesn’t believe in “fair and balanced.”

CyberCipher on December 27, 2006 at 3:32 PM

I remember getting dragooned not once, but TWICE to sit with congressmen and other assorted higher-ups (sitting with the Commandant is an honor one cannot refuse while sitting with a congressman one may. Since it was congressman Hunter, I jumped at the opportunity). I do not doubt the poor soldier on counting duty at the hatch tried to grab a couple of guys to sit with the senator; the fact that they refused really speaks to the contempt this man is held in. Not that we didn’t already know this, but this kind of hammers it home.

Not that this will suprise anyone but If you run a google search on “Kerry snubbed by the Troops” all you get is blogs carrying it. If you needed a crystal clear example of Media Bias, I can’t think of a better one. Imagine a Republican Senator who just vilified the troops with a ‘botched joke” wherein he calls them dunces, said Senator visits Iraq and the troops snubb him like that! I think the headlines all over the media would be like, “TROOPS REFUSE TO EVEN EAT WITH HIM!” or “SENATOR WHO SNUBBED TROOPS GETS IT BACK IN SPADES”! or “WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND” or something, sheesh.

Soothsayer on December 27, 2006 at 4:03 PM

Since the MSM won’t report any of this now, there has to be some reporter out there who’ll interview the Senator from Mass & decorated Viet Nam Veteran and ask him to elaborate on his trip with an emphasis on touring Iraq.

LOL

I love the US Military.

The NY Post ran an article on Dec 16th about his trip to Irak, in it they quoted the mother of one of soldiers that painted the sign.

“That probably would be wise of him not to go too close to Talil right now because they’re still a little upset,” said Linda Ward, whose daughter Heather was among the GIs holding the banner in a photo

Carry should have stayed out of Irak period.

Black Adam on December 28, 2006 at 2:15 AM

I predict that Kerry and his people will brag about the warm reception he received in Iraq, and that he will tell stories of the horrible things he heard from the troops, the hell they are going through, the inhumane acts they have perpetrated onto innocent people, and how they are abandoned by their government, their leaders, their Commander-in-Chief!

I also predict that when that statement is made by John F. Kerry, the MSM will be all over it, shouting it form the highest mountains to the lowest valleys, to the deepest seas, and to the deepest reaches of outer space and inner space!

The MSM will continue that story, and embellish it, for a very long time, and hammer President Bush, “failed” Iraq policy, “Failed” Foreign policy, the “Defeat” of our great military, the “Super Power” which is the United States.

Furthermore, the Democrat National Committee and other Democrat, liberal, and leftist organizations and bloggers will also pick up the story and embellish it, amplify it, and repeat it ad nauseum.

Hollywood and the left leaning entertainment outlets will also help promote that story, and Bill Maher and others like him will also tell tales of woe, and how wonderful Mr. John F. Kerry, Senator from Massachusetts is and how honest the troops are to speak with him of their plight and the atrocities committed by them.

In other words, this story of the troops shunning Kerry will not be a story, but we will hear a totally different, fabricated story designed to trash the troops, make them look sad, depressed, defeated, and demoralized, and that they are guilty of atrocities. They will regurgitate more lies and distortions by love John F. Kerry and Hate Bush, hate the Troops, and hate the US crowd.

Kerry has already done this so it won’t be difficult, or it is not beyond the realm of possibility, that Kerry and his propagation system, the MSM, Democrats, Hollywood, leftists, etc., will rehash this bogus claim while ignoring this shunning.

Just more of the same old regurgitated crap that inspires our enemies and sabatoges the efforts of our troops!
