Ric
k Warren teaming up with Syria, The Pope with Iran… what could go wrong?

RightWinged on December 27, 2006 at 5:21 P

What could go wrong?...........................Perhaps next..........Obama and Hillary - "Late and Great in '08"?

Who knows?

Great post, though, as was this:

but people having a problem with the Pope and/or Catholic Church has nothing to do with anyone’s belief in God. I know the Catholic Church often becomes “God” to Catholics and it’s tough to separate the two, but wake up dude, your comment is ridiculous and doesn’t make sense.

RightWinged on December 27, 2006 at 7:29 PM

On track - so often people want to play the "my God's better, bigger, etc.. than yours" game.

It probably amuses God to see how little we get it after all this time...........................or perhaps not.

I know the Catholic Church often becomes “God” to Catholics

I bet you've never talked to a Catholic about religon before. I'd also bet that you've heard quite a bit about Catholics, but not from Catholics themselves.

There seems to be a whole lot of "My Christian God's better than your Christian God" going on here. Yeah, like we need more religous intolerance in this world today.

Well I'd like to hear confirmation that it's a real quotes before I comment but I'm suprised at some of the ranting on here. Last month someone said the Pope was a pagan, now he seems to have been upgraded to anti-Christ. I could say something back but what's the point?

...and the account must be accurate if it comes out of the Iran State Media, right? [crickets chirping].

Islamic media has nothing at all to gain by misrepresenting

Mark Steyn wasn't talking about the Pope, but he might as well have been:

...[P]ublic rhetoric is critical, too. At some point we have to face down a culture in which not only the mob in the street but the highest judges and academics talk like crazies. Abdul Rahman embodies the question at the heart of this struggle: if Islam is a religion one can only convert to not from, then in the long run it is a threat to every free person on the planet.

When the Pope says that he appreciates Iran's religious tolerance, perhaps he means the same as when one comments to someone having a temper tantrum "I love the way you have learned to keep your temper in check," or to someone who is rude "I just love the way you are so police and cooperate so well with others," or to someone who cannot sing "I just love the way you hold your notes, especially that last one that you screamed and which was not in tune with the music. I've never heard anyone else sing quite like that before."

THIS POPE HAS GOT WHAT IT TAKES IN OUR PRESENT TIMe Some on here love to knock the pope or bash the catholic churches teachings, that's fine by me. Just know that GOOD will overtake EVIL If you read scripture or not you might just want to learn more about what the church really teaches without bashing it from hearsay or from scandals that did happen in the church. Do you belive there hasn't been scandals in every religion ?? GOD does exsist and there will be a time of reckoning ehrther you belive it or not. My hope is that more come to thier senses and know that this pope is courageous and a very spiritual leader, not a drone looking for some headlines. Read some of his books he has written over the past twenty some years and it just might (might) waken up your mind, heart and soul. Have a great day and a Happy New Year.

I don't understand what some people expect from the Pope these days. The Pope isn't going to send a flame email to Iran. He's also not going to call for a Crusade any time soon, regardless of how out of hand the Muslims get. The Pope just isn't one of those "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition" type of religous leaders. I didn't see submission when he went to Turkey, I saw courage. He showed what a true Religion of Peace is supposed to look like.

I must remember that "Timothy" was one of Jesus' many pseudonyms and not the Apostle recommended by the Christians of Lystra to Paul and then accompanying him, because, after all, Paul was just another of Jesus' pseudonyms. And Jesus, not the fakes and frauds of the Church, actually assembled the New Testament, after writing it all, because there are no mediators, except Him.

Thanks, Soothsayer, for the implicit advice, but no thanks. I do appreciate your point about biblical illiteracy, though.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sent a message to Pope Benedict XVI urging greater understanding between religions.

Greater understanding = bow to us or be beheaded

PFCalDude,

Let's do a little word substitution with your post, ok?

"the Pope has fallen all over himself to say that he 'respects' Judiasm. How can a true Christian respect a religion that denies Jesus is the Son of God?"

Fallacy #1, then, is your quibble over respect. Look, even if the man professed his enduring hatrid of Islam, he'd still have to "respect" the fact that it's been around for 1,400 years. There's plenty of things to "respect" about Islam even if you hate it and think it's an evil religion.

Fallacy #2 is your assumption that Benedict doesn't "believe" or is not a "true Christian" and that he's a "dhimmi." Sheesh. Do I even have to go here?

Apparently, some people just must bash the Pope.

PS: Allahpundit, I'd think that a fix to the title of this post is in order, something along the lines like "as claimed by Iranian MSM." Absent that, it's just going to be more Catholic/Pope bashing.

Benedict is a dhimmi. There is no compromise between Yahweh and Allah. You believe in one or the other, but the two are not the same. Benedict needs to repent and believe.

The POPE IS A FRAUD. He is a fake little man that doesn't have the Holy Spirit and couldn't even tell you how to GET it! He probably doesn't even recognize it as something that you SHOULD HAVE, since that doctrine seems to be missing from Catholic theology. He is a fake. He is not a "MEDIATOR" between GOD and MAN, he is a liar and his father is the Father of lies (john 8:44). And to call himself the point man or the MEDIATOR between God and Us is BLASPHEMY, which the Catholic church celebrates every time they pray to Mary, as well.
1 Timothy 2:5,6
5. For there is one God, AND ONE MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; ( not a man in a pointy hat!)
6.Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

For all of you who have suffered under his delusion for years, like I myself who grew up going to Catholic church, read the NEW TESTAMENT for yourself! The degree to which Catholicism takes hold in a community is exponentiallly dispositive of their BIBLICAL ILLITERACY.
