So I turn on the Factor about 45 minutes in to see what’s happening tonight — and guess who’s hosting.
The employees are always the last to know.
Here she is, looking appropriately quizzical in the face of Hernandez’s flamboyant insincerity, as they try to piece out how, precisely, illegal aliens are “the new American pioneers.”
UPDATE BY SEE-DUBYA: Hernandez lied when he says this isn’t identity theft, suggesting that one could just make up a random ten-digit social security number and this employer, Swift Meats, would have accepted it.
Swift Meats was participating in the “Basic Pilot” program, which verified that a Social Security number supplied by a potential applicant was a real, working SSN. If you submit a random series of digits, odds are Basic Pilot would catch you.
The catch: Basic Pilot only checks whether a number is active or not. So it is easily defeated by giving it a valid SSN of an American citizen–thereby stealing his identity. As one developer of more advanced software points out,
“An extremely high percentage of Social Security numbers are appearing to be multiple users these days,” Douglas said. “My best guess at this point is that you’re looking at a good 30 percent of Social Security numbers that are attached to multiple users. We’re seeing a lot of activity in that area. … It’s just become a geometric growth pattern in the last 10 years.”
Basic Pilot has been in use since 1997 and is now housed under the Department of Homeland Security. It’s been touted as one of the best ways to catch fraudulent documentation, but it is failing in catching the more sophisticated fraud seen at Swift. Basically, it’s a case of the criminals beating the system by stealing genuine documentation.
“What you have to realize is you’re talking about very complex forms of fraud, where an individual completely assumes another’s identity,” said Chris Bentley, spokesman for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services division of DHS.
Exit question: who’s using your SSN?

Hernandez just cannot answer any question he is asked. He has talking points and all he can do is yell them over the interviewer. He’s just a rude bastard that wants open boarders.

How heartless can we be to enforce immigration laws on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

He was sooooo upset about the date… The 12th on December. Okay, so do you think that he would accept the 5th of Jan to toss out all the illegals? Or maybe the 27th of December? I doubt it.

She kept asking him simple yes or no questions. He never answered any of them. He simply used the ample air-time that Michelle gave him as a platform to spew his dogma in an incoherent diatribe that bashed the enforcement of our laws. Michelle did a remarkable job of keeping her cool. Kudos to her. If O’Reilly had been there, he’d have been screaming at the guy to SHADD-UPP! Believe me, I wanted to do WAY worse than that.

His fav’s are ‘ya gotta’…, ‘you must’.. ‘you need to’.., always with that condescending fake grin… and I haven’t even seen this one yet.

Where do I sign up about 20 of these illegal aliens to put money in my Social Security account? Come on down chicos y chicas, me numero es 555-55-5555! Oh and by the way, instead of me having to rob that bank for money I didn’t earn, since I don’t have any money (ie; since the illegals don’t have SS numbers and we need to give them some) maybe the govt. will give me some and save me the trouble of earning it legally…just a thought, it being the 26th of December and all.

The KC (red) Star newspaper
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/columnists/mary_sanchez/16317133.htm
had an editorial addressing this meat packing plant round up entitled “Raids won’t solve U.S. immigration problem” and I sent the writer a response:
I must agree with the headline for your latest commentary dated 12-26-2006 with two exceptions - “Raids alone won’t solve U.S. illegal immigration problem.”
If I was poor, hungry & unemployed in Central America, I would come to the U.S. of A. too - just like these recently arrested 1300 workers. I would probably violate laws to get here and stay here - just like these recently arrested 1300 illegal immigrants. I would also steal identities & forge documents to obtain employment - just like these recently arrested 1300 criminals. I would also understand there is risk involved - and for good reason. I would realize my time here was limited, and if discovered, I would be deported - winter holidays or not.
I would agree with the headline, “Raids alone won’t solve U.S. illegal immigration problem” but, I would also realize one of the biggest obstacles to solve the illegal immigration problem is people like you. People who couch the debate in maudlin terms sympathetic to those recently arrested 1300 workers regardless of their criminal activity. People, like you, who choose carefully to avoid the word ‘illegal’ when writing of these immigrants. People, like you, who abuse liberty & citizenship to write in other publications to quietly champion the cause of ‘La Raza’. People, like you, who perpetuate the lie of these illegal workers doing the jobs no one else will do. Swift & Co. was flooded with applicants - American citizen applicants - the days after this raid.
I agree. “Raids alone won’t solve U.S. illegal immigration problem”.

O’Reilly would have called him a pinhead about 15 seconds into his first non-answer. And he’d have been right. Michelle is too nice for that. Of course, if she were as harsh as O’Reilly, then the lefties would call her a bitch.
Oh, they already do? Carry on, then.
The Monster on December 27, 2006 at 12:00 AM
hey, where are resident liberals on this issue. they’ve been very quiet for some time now, which is a good thing - but it would be nice to have them voice their “opinions” and then most of you of course prove them wrong & accuse them of being anti-american(which i really enjoy doing)
Starblazer on December 27, 2006 at 12:01 AM
I love the way Michelle takes a stand and slugs it out toe to toe. O’Reilly is obsessed with being the smartest guy in the room and so, instead of taking the risk of being wrong and taking a firm stand, he’s always angling so as not be cornered.
Unless he’s ranting about child abuse, in which case he knows he is totally safe. Of course. Then the fangs come out. Ever since the war became less popular and he had to eat crow. He’s been a total pussy. I can’t stand to watch him anymore.

Hernandez seemed in control of the interview. He ignored the questions and used air time to voice his political propaganda. He was not interested in an interview but in airtime to push his political agenda.
Michelle looks GREAT! Wow! Michelle’s hair is the best I have ever seen it - and her video presence is so appealing. Michelle really is moving up the ladder - now she has to get control over someone like Hernandez who is only interested in using airtime for his purposes and not participating in any discussion.

Mojave Mark on December 27, 2006 at 12:55 AM
Wow!
My blood pressure just WENT THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!!
Hernandez! You did not answer one single question that Michelle asked of you!
You went off on your own tangent!
You did not even admit that people ARE breaking the law, or that people are stealing legal citizens’ identities, or that “regular” Americans (US citizens) actually lined up to take the jobs that Bush falsely claims that “Americans won’t do.”
Furthermore, you cared not one bit about those citizens whose lives have been damaged because illegals have tampered with their identities and stolen from them!
This man, Hernandez, is dishonest and an enabler. He is aiding and abetting crooks, thieves, murderers, and rapists (referring to illegal who have raped more than 100,000 women, and who have murdered other citizens and brutalized others, including police officers who have been attacked, and even murdered).
With few exceptions, these women would not have been raped had the illegals involved NOT been in this country.
With few exceptions, these victims of violent attacks, robbery, assault and battery, home invasions, and murders, would be healthy, happy, prosperous, and even alive, where it not for the illegal presence of these invaders!
Michelle, you got him, but he lied and weaseled his way around your questions. No doubt President Bush will continue to sell US citizens and our safety down the river with the likes of Hernandez and other illegal invader enablers!
I am not only outraged over the clear invasion of the US, but also the violation of our sovereignty, and, perhaps as importantly, the thumb in the eye to every person on planet earth who gets to wait from two to twelve years to finally have permission to enter the United States and become legal citizens of the United States!
The millions who do not have to cross the ocean to get here, such as those who sneak in through Mexico and Canada, are abusing a privilege. Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Irish, Japanese, Koreans, and others must go through hoops in order to enter this country, and to become US citizens.
Now, with this absurd, insulting, bogus “Amnesty” program that Bush and the House are pushing through, those immigrants who follow the rules are being told “F U!!!!,” and the legal citizens, both immigrants and those born here, are also being told “F U!!!!
Those who voted these congresspersons and this president into office are also being told “F U !!!!.
Is there any wonder why citizens throughout history in various countries around the world engaged in revolts against their corrupt, abusive government?
I feel so sorry for so many immigrants who have been betrayed by this abuse, and I feel outrage for those of us who are legal citizens and voters who can only watch as our so-called representatives betray us and continue the decline of the United States, abuse and ignorance of her laws, and destruction of our culture and violation of our safety and security via this outrageous embracing of illegal immigrants-invaders.
Those of us who are veterans served our country for this?!

Speakup on December 27, 2006 at 1:32 AM
Let’s put this into prospective. He says that because families are being torn apart that we should change the laws. Fraud is a crime, so let’s just get rid of that law. Jumping the boarder is a crime so let’s get rid of that one. The coyotes are smuggling these workers in, so let’s just let those guys go across. The employers are getting by with hiring illegals so they can drop the wages of their workers, let’s just let that go… He says we need to be more “Compassionate” because we are ripping families apart.
By his logic, we should just do away with all laws. Running someone down in the street is a crime, but if we went around locking up everyone that did a hit and run, it might tear a family apart, so let’s just get rid of that one. If you lock a meth dealer up that has kids, you’re tearing a family apart, and we need to be more compassionate about that, so let’s just let that one go. If you shoot someone in the face and drive away with their car, we’ll just let that go, because you might have kids, and the “Compassionate” thing to do is just to let you off with a warning.
Does anyone see how rediculous this argument is?
I like his logic. The fact that the US has immigration laws forces people to break the law to cover up the fact that they broke the law.
I am so tired of this debate. Can we just convince the president to get the US marshals to form posses, and go from town to town like Eisenhower did. That worked. People didn’t come near the boarder. Every attempt to give amnesty however, has just created more illegal immigration. That’s not speculation, that’s fact. There has been a surge at the boarder since they started talking about it as of late, and it needs to stop. There are laws in this country, and if you don’t follow those laws, you have to pay the consiquences of that decision. No one forced them to come here illegally, no one forced them to commit fraud, so the could work, and the number one thingthat sticks out in my mind about this… They broke the law. Doesn’t that count for anything anymore? I’m Going on a shooting spree, and if anyone says a word about it, I’m taking it to congress, and the supreme court to tell everybody that their laws forced me to do it, and it wouldn’t be “Compassionate” to tear my family apart by putting me in jail.
Working on the emotions of liberals all over the country seems to be having an effect. Screw emotion, let’s get back to logic here people. We’re not just talking about Mexicans. People around the world see us as a joke when it comes to immigration, including our enemies.

O’Reilly has already had him on many times and actually seems to agree with him on many of the same issues. O’Reilly is in favor of amnesty and agrees that they are all just poor hard workers looking for food for their families.
This guy used to be the chief adviser to Vicente Fox. He’s not just some talking head. He’s actually directly responsible for much of what’s going on. I’d love to see the results of a detailed background check on this guy. I’d bet he’s as dirty as they come.
Hernandez is only concerned with the money that’s flowing back into Mexico from these workers and he spends much of his time making sure the illegals understand that Mexico expects them to be Mexicans, regardless of where they are working and living.
From Alternet in 2001:
Of course … his boss Vicente Fox once said in an interview …
For all of you NAU doubters … it was Vicente Fox and Juan Hernandez who were first to publicly admit goals of creating the North American Union. But then again … pointing to a U.S. President who advocates giving amnesty to 30 million illegals and continues to lie to Americans, the President of Mexico who publicly admitted that he favors eliminating the border and merging currency, the Mexican Ambassador to the U.N. who verbally admitted that the North American Union needs to be finalized within eight years, and the person who actually wrote up the plans for the North American Union actually being on the payroll of the sitting U.S. President … there’s obviously nothing to see here other than a wacko conspiracy theory.
Oh, and never mind that the actual blue-print was actually sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations, the
Canadian Council of Chief Executives, and the
Consejo Mexicano de Asuntos Internacionales.
It’s all make believe.

Hell,I think that Hernandez IS bad acid based on his ideology. It never ceases to amaze me how Americans do not favor our having a strong immigration policy and decry border control. Hernandez is an American-born in Ft. Worth, TX.
Michelle, you have to remember that when you debate Hernandez, you are dealing with a Latin Rasputin who will use charm and say all the correct stuff to invoke feelings of guilt and to put you in a bad light if you don’t agree with him. For example, he mentions how heartless we are to enforce immigration laws during the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I did not realize that VIOLATION OF AMERICAN LAW was part of the Lady’s religious message (I will have to ask the spirits that reside in the trees and plants if they agree with this).
Also, you should be a bit more forceful when debating guys like Hernandez to get your point across, I think. BUT, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, YOU DID A FINE JOB PUTTING HIM IN CHECK, MICHELLE.
I TRULY HOPE THAT FNC OFFERS YOU A PROGRAM, MICHELLE.
Last night was a Michelle night. After seeing Michelle on TV last night, I then heard her on THE BEST OF LAURA INGRAHAM crossing swords with some guy from some Islamic-Center. Then, this morning, she was again on FNC discussing Pres Ford. Wow, Michelle three times in less than 24 hours! Great!
MICHELLE, YOU SHOULD REALLY TRY TO LET US KNOW WHEN YOU ARE ON. FOR EXAMPLE, I PLACED MY NAME ON YOUR LIST TWO YEARS TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN YOU WILL MAKE APPEARANCES, BUT SO FAR, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICES OF THE KIND. YOU SHOULD REALLY EITHER UPDATE IT, OR ACTIVATE IT, SO THAT WE WILL KNOW WHEN YOU WILL APPEAR ON TV ON THE RADIO.
Well, hope to see more of you on FNC and on the radio!

The policies put in place by the immigration office to have emploers check for SSN and legal status, has so many loopholes designed so the employers will never be held accountable. It is a classic example of passing a bill, getting credit for reform, yet the bill has no “teeth”. Both sides of the aisle should be ashamed for this farce, but this is one bill they are both very proud of.
right2bright on December 27, 2006 at 9:33 AM
If this guy wants the laws changed, fine. But that is a separate issue. Until the immigration laws are actually changed, these people working at the meat packing plant were breaking the law, plain and simple.

Nice way to take part in intelligent debate.

My ideal comment to the this guy would have been:
“Since you believe there are no laws governing illegal immigration, I don’t like the laws preventing me from coming over to you and kicking you’re a$$ up one side and down the other! How do you feel about that?” I’m sure he wouldn’t have appreciated that.
The problem I see is that not all of the laws are being enforced. How many drive 70 mph in a 60 zone, how many float through a stop sign? How many use a lawn service that employ’s Hispanic workers? Don’t get me wrong here, I am totally for LEGAL immigration and I’m not saying all Hispanic lawn workers are illegal.
Take away the reason for the illegal’s coming here and they will stop coming. Go after the businesses that hire these people including the members of Congress who have hired them to clean their homes.
Wake up America, they are stealing our identities! I should know, mine was stolen and it has been a living hell trying to convince creditors that I don’t live in San Antonio, Dallas and Oklahoma at the same time and same day hours apart.

I finally got a chance to watch the clip. That guy just about made me loose my breakfast all over my computer screen.
He endorses people who practice identity theft in the name of “being more sensitive” to people who illegally enter our country. I don’t think he realizes that getting a job isn’t the only thing they use those identities for.
How many illegals steal people’s identities and ruin their credit, get them in legal trouble, and on and on.
more than you think I’d bet.

Another “immigration rights” activist who thinks that, since most countries in South America can’t be bothered to fix their corrupt, disfunctional systems, America is morally obligated to maintain an open door policy and let anybody who likes drop by and take advantage of all the benefits of our system.
We may need to fix our immigration system (and like many Americans, I’m fairly open-minded on the subject). But we sure don’t need to let illegal aliens decide when and how it needs fixing.

“What you have to realize is you’re talking about very complex forms of fraud, where an individual completely assumes another’s identity,” said Chris Bentley, spokesman for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services division of DHS.
The US Government knows which numbers have multiple users, it’s a simple matter of having a database and a computer and pressing a button to show which numbers are being used more than once, that gives you a list of victims. Then you press another button to send the victims a form letter to notify them. All of this could be done in one day…an hour actually.
Then they could round up the perpetrators of this complex-form-of-fraud who should be easy to find since their fraud contains calling cards with their employers’ names on it.
The SSA, actually the US Government as a whole, is an accessory to this crime against the citizenry.

I’m so sick of these illegals and these open borders morons, they don’t give a rats ass about our laws, but at the same time they use our legal system to their own benefit. My best friend is a LEGAL immigrant from Colombia, he waited 2 years for his visa, then served in the army for 6 years and is now a civil engineer at the company I work for. Of all the people I have talked to about illegal immigration, LEGAL immigrants are even more opposed to the illegals than the rest of us, it is a slap in the face to everyone who waits their turn for a visa. My wife is also from Colombia, and we waited 1 1/2 years for her visa, but it was worth the wait to obey the laws. The other day my wife and I and my Colombian friend and his wife were driving to a restaurant for lunch when we passed a group of “day laborers” ie. illegals, the Colombians hung out of the window and screamed “la migra, la migra” (immigration), I laughed my ass off and made another pass so we could taunt them some more. This whole debate is a joke, Bush’s immigration ideas are a joke, and the racism from Mexicans towards Americans (specifically whites) is just sickening especially when we are the ones accused of being racist. I dare an illegal to steal my identity, I f@%king dare you, it will be the last thing they steal. ILLEGALS GO HOME!!!

Mr Hernandez, you do not speak for me. Idiot. As always, Michelle was wonderful. I would like to see her replace Greta. I turn off Fox after Hannity and Colmes.

So… if the U.S. of A. did the ultimate compassionate thing, which is to invade and take Mexico as part of the U.S., thereby removing the border from the discussion and positioning herself better to serve the poor of Mexico, would the strategic and economic gain of controlling Mexico’s oil fields offset the inevitable welfare expansion and infrastructure-building tab spurred by such a merger?

Gregor,
I can’t say for certain if this is an accurate representation of Bill’s position, or not. But if you are correct, then O’Reilly has become even more lame than I thought. Is is too much to hope that Fox News will REPLACE him with Michelle? (Although, I can’t imagine why she’d want his job.)

Michelle asked the questions that no one else is asking, which was a relief, but more, faster, please. Hernandez is very very slick. The appeal he is using is pure sentimentality, torn apart families, Christmas, the blasphemy of trying to use Jesus politically, etc, all with the agreeable smile, to demonstrate he is “the easy-going” fellow. It’s emotion, not reason. If families are being split up now, they lost the gamble - they are the ones who weighed the risks to their kids when they went that route, foully, too, for many were influenced by agitators like Hernandez and his ilk to go ahead. His family isn’t in a shambles this week, theirs are, but he doesn’t care. They are just political tools to him.
Mexicans and Central Americans are not the only immigrants to the United States. They just get in easier than anyone else because they can walk or drive over the border. Every one else comes in by air or boat. What this man is doing is pushing an agenda that serves ONE group only, at the expense of the others.
What would Hernandez say about the Africans who want to immigrate to the US? Probably not much. The ugly reality of it is that as a rule, Latinos know zero about Africa or other countries, could care less, and despise people of darker color. They have regional, ethnic, language and racial biases of their own.
The truth is, America as a nation is more diverse than from where these southerners are coming. Hernandez manipulates viewers’ ignorance of the immigration and guest worker systems in other countries, by focusing only on America. Why doesn’t he take a look at Africa, where mass purges of alien nationals takes place on a regular basis? Lots of countries world-wide end up with confrontations between the local populations and the imports when illegal immigration is allowed unchecked. A few years ago, Nigeria expelled over a million working Ghanians (doing jobs Nigerians wouldn’t do - and that’s a quote), gave them about 3 brutal days to get out of Dodge. Let’s not pick on African countries, Mexico’s policies towards immigrants and guest workers is quite rigid and harsh. How welcome are white foreigners in, say Guatemala? How about black foreigners? Americans are far nicer and fairer to aliens in their midst - they do not maintain two price tiers - the local prices and the rip-off price for everyone else.
Americans who work in other countries are strikingly scrupulous in adhering to the host countries’ laws and requirements. How is it injustice when Americans only demand the equal treatment that immigrants obey our laws?
Perhaps the paramount reason Third World nations are in the Third World state they are is the failure to establish the Rule of Law. Behind Hernandez’s mask of Mr. Nice Guy is an evil of advocating a rejection of the stability that makes America the way it is : a respect for law. Hernandez wants the US to adopt his concept: ignore the laws, manipulate the system, bribe, humilitate law enforcement officers, rig the courts with judges who act politically not legally … why after a while of this, there will be no point in going to America, it’ll be just as sleazy and corrupt as the places the immigrants are fleeing from.
naliaka on December 27, 2006 at 12:29 PM
Criminals, Thieves, Liars and some wish to provide them a path to citizenship. If the USA allows such, the cost will be paid and it will not be cheap.
Multiculturalism and accomodation brings us to this crossroad. Giving into it, will only lead to the infection of America with the corruption that exists from where they come. The expectation of previous legal immigrants was to become Americans, to learn English, value God, Family and Country. They did so. Today liberalism, brings us the Godless, the egocentric, and multiculturalism.

Hmm leftist twit eh? Alter Ego? BadBrad is not an extension of my personality but given the propensity of many posters to fervently wish for the use of a nuclear weapon on yellow and brown people I suppose his sentiments regards wishing for someone’s demise are more along the lines of those with whose opinion you are more comfortable with.

DAMN I HATE THAT F*@khead.
His %’s are all made up. 87% of Americans want to border CLOSED to illegals.
So by Hernandez’s thinking, anyone can break laws before Christmas and use the family stance to avoid prosecution?
And for the rest of the year, we don’t have laws.
Each American can pick one or two laws to dismiss?
1) I want to drive fast anywhere I want.
.
2) I want to use Michael Jordans credit to buy stuff, forever without paying for it all.
.
And which laws do want to dismiss?
