Video: Zawahiri asks, where’s the jihad?

Well, if you believe the reports this morning, part of it’s being scraped off a road in Afghanistan. The Taliban says it’s a lie but the military sounds pretty sure.

Sorry it took me so long to get this, but the full video wasn’t released until yesterday. The Blotter characterized it as a sort of victory speech based on the first clips released to the media. For a guy who’s winning, though, he sure does seem unhappy. Most of what you’re about to see consists of whining about Muslims — Mahmoud Abbas, the “secularist traitor” who recognizes Israel; Hamas, an Islamist movement which nonetheless relies on democratic consent for its authority instead of shari’a; and ultimately the entire ummah, which supports jihad against Israel but by and large cooperates with America. “What religion is this?” he wonders. “What morality is this? What honor is this? Rather, what collapse is this?”

I’ve also included the segment where he addresses the Democrats and then urges both parties to negotiate with the “real powers” in the Islamic world to secure a safe withdrawal from Iraq, by which of course he means AQ and not Iran and Syria, per the Baker Commission’s recommendation.

The full transcript is at Laura Mansfield’s site. Thanks as always to Rusty for the clip. FYI, the occasional green flashes are an artifact of converting the file, not part of the original vid.

Ha! Asking where’s the beef!

What’s that on his forehead anyway?? Did someone punch him in the head with their class ring?

Besides, I didn’t know the Mujadeen was on any of the ballots in this country. Except maybe in Michigan, perhaps, just saying.

I guess he’s not getting enough attention, his pleas for and messages out to the American politicians, the people, and the real target, the American Press.

Ah, I guess you know what’s it like not to be top dog anymore. Wait? They don’t like doggies, right?

Burn in hell bastard!

Yakko77 on December 23, 2006 at 1:54 PM

Yet in Western media, these guys are winning. But in the *real* world, we’re moppin’ the floor with ‘em. Notice how progress just keeps marchin’ by them? Another section of Iraq handed over to the new Iraqi Army, another top jihadist leader whacked. All the while, these ‘holy warriors’ are screamin’. They’re not winners, they’re whiners!

Tony737 on December 23, 2006 at 2:18 PM

Tony,

You’re right on the mark, youngster. The press and al Qaeda sure do make a lot of noise, but they are both empty barrels. Victory in this war will keep slowly marching on until 5,10,15 yrs from now, the Muslim world will wake up and say what the Hell were we doing? Foregoing technology, babes, and liquor at the horse and camel races? Let’s get on the civilization bandwagon, people!

And then everyone will say, it’s about time and we can go on living. As long as progress keeps being made by our forces on the ground and in the moral arena, Victory is assured. Don’t quit.

It is lonely leading the world. That’s because everyone else has to catch up to us in front of the pack. But the winners of every race are the ones in front at the end, and you don’t get there by running the wrong way. I’ll allow them time to catch up. But I ain’t stopping progress forward in the War on Islamic Terrorists, even if it means we cross the finish line a mile ahead of everyone else.

What a laugher Zawahiri is. He thinks by using a recorded tape, he can dictate world policy from his air conditioned cave. When was the last time we’ve seen a gutless terrorist leader strap on a bomb belt, and lead by example?

This cowardly SOB, along with most al Qaeda terrorists don’t dare show themselves, or stick their heads up, because all know, they’d be holding it in their hand.

Watching these jihadists takes me back to the Vietnam war, and here’s how. We were carpet-bombing the hell out of Hanoi with great success. We were to learn the extent of this success unfortunately years and years later. The VC were in the midst of surrender when we suddenly put an end to the campaign and decided to “talk” with the VC. We were on the verge of victory but lost the nerve and blinked. Fast forward to 2006. Again we’re engaged in another war where those opposed to it are demanding we talk with the enemy. The jihadists themselves are unhinged at the division in their own ranks and what are we discussing? Surrender. We’re on the path to victory but yet again political forces in this nation want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. AQ mad at Hamas, Hamas mad at Fatah, the Saudi’s wary of the Iranians, the moderate Lebanese angry with Hezbo and Syria, Christians and secular govts. of Somalia and Ethiopia standing up to Islamic militias, sunni vs Shia, and the Kurds moving on with their hard-fought freedom. The West is fractured, yes, but the Islamic world is teetering on the verge of all-out massive volcanic eruptions. Now is the time for keeping the pressure on, not letting up to avoid the spill-over. We need to take the lid off and let the contents boil over. It’s time now, not later, and for another very important reason; nukes. If we keep putting a band-aid on this sore, it will become infected and spread. An eruption with nuke capabilities is scary, scary for the world not just the region. If the eruption occurs now we can at least be assured(almost 100 percent)the smoke, ash, and fire won’t be of the glowing variety…….

This guys got the charisma of a fish. How could he convince anyone of jihad?

Clark1 on December 23, 2006 at 3:27 PM

The West is fractured, yes, but the Islamic world is teetering on the verge of all-out massive volcanic eruptions.

ritethinker is rite…er, right. We’re thoroughly stomping the jihadis everywhere we engage them, yet the bed-wetting hand wringers want to quit.

Being the season and all I have a suggestion for the good Dr: Lose the AK-47 and replace it with a toddler on your knee. You already have the beard and goofy headwear. “…and to all a good night! Durka! Durka! Durka!”

liberrocky on December 23, 2006 at 6:54 PM

The end has come and found us here
With our toys scattered all around us here
The puzzle that we never found an answer for
Still asks us, darlin’ pal, just what all the games were for
And here we stand in a box of sand

Where’s the playground Susie Jihad Zawahiri?
You’re the one who’s supposed to know her his way around
Where’s the playground Susie Jihad Zawahiri?
If I don’t stay around?
If I don’t stay around?

I hope Glen Campbell was under arrest for DUI and in a drunken stupor when I posted this — or I could be in trouble.

Yet in Western media, these guys are winning. Tony737 on December 23, 2006 at 2:18 PM

Which reminds me – just where is Dan Rather when you really need him for yet another “fair, balanced report”?

Courage!

Emmett J. on December 23, 2006 at 10:43 PM

That ding on his forehead is from the prayers they do 5 times a day or more.(They only HAVE to pray 5 times, but many of the more devout imams pray more)

As a mark of piety, I guess it’s so so, but the question is whether or not anyone ever heard of a broom, or failing that, a washcloth over there….

;0)

Lonevoice on December 24, 2006 at 12:29 AM

Huh? I just thought it was a spot of bat guano.

AZPatriot on December 24, 2006 at 3:28 AM

The spot on his forehead is from when he was a head bangin’ metal head. Rock on Zawi!

Tony737 on December 24, 2006 at 7:13 AM

Where’s the jihad? At the Chunnel!

The perfect target.

Tony737 on December 24, 2006 at 9:10 AM

The only people that think these guys are actually winning are the people that WANT them to win…..the mainstream/drive-by media.

They want to be just like the vietnam war media.

quax1 on December 24, 2006 at 9:29 AM

I’ve got a slow connection and don’t dare set aside the time to stream this whole thing.

Judging by the still that Allah posted, I’ll just assume it’s another low budget TV commercial by Crazy Al’s Persian Carpet Emporium.

It’s time again for Crazy Al’s end of year clearance sale, and the manager’s told me to slash prices even further. With prices this low, you’d have to be a kafir to pass them up.

I think he’s looking for more ‘fake but accurate’ Bush memos.

Merry Christmas everyone!

but remember the democrats taking office doesn’t make us weaker against thsoe who want us all dead or converted.

One Angry Christian on December 24, 2006 at 1:06 PM

These guys are all puffed up like a spiney blowfish by the MSM. The power is in the vote and alot of good people turned out to be good people, but stupid people with a short memory. The last election is proof of that. Never Never Never believe a bleeding heart liberal. Their like a heroin junky skeeming for more dope! There is no solution to all of mankinds ills. Natural selection where the strong survive is the mode of operation here. GOYA get off your ass!

sonnyspats1 on December 24, 2006 at 2:45 PM

Pakistan probably feeds this guy the best food, and brings him his daily virgins, and brings his fresh sheep and goats for other pleasures.. They supply him with weapons and cash. yet they are our friends?

He only has brothers. No sisters.

This guy even looks like Clara Peller (with a beard). What a hoot. What is that dimple from? (leaning on an AK47 ala algore in “vietnam photo”?)
