I love the ending, when the family are seen in an empty Chinese restaurant having Duck for Christmas Dinner!

What a clever ending.

The singing of the Chinese restaurant staff is priceless!

The family IS happy in the end, enjoying a not-so traditional Christmas.

Kevin and Honora beat me to it! Best lines: “Frah-gee-lee, must be Italian!” and “Ohhhhh fffffuuuuudddggggeeee!” are now a part of America’s lexicon. As are “You’ll put your eye out, kid.” and “I TRIPLE dog dare ya!”

I thought I was the last person in the country who hasn’t seen this.

Oh, honey, you need to see it immediately. lol! There is so much that kids and adults can identify with in this film. And underlying the comedy and without being nauseatingly sentimental, it portrays a family that loves each other.

I thought I was the last person in the country who hasn’t seen this. The only thing we try to catch every year is A Christmas Carol, the TNT version with Patrick Stewart. It’s great.

I think the people who put these parodies together have way too much time on their hands. But I did like it. Christmas Story is one my family’s favorite holiday movies.

I grew up listening to Jean Sheperd on WOR radio in NY, every Sunday night at 10:30. He regaled us in that crackling, jovial voice, about himself, Flick, the Nehi lamp, and all those stories every week.

When they finally made the movie A Christmas Story, I was able to share some of this nostalgia with my own kids.

He was a wonderful man.

Best christmas EVER? My dad gave me a real rifle (.22) when I was seven.
No, I would not give a gun to a 7 year old kid now.

We watch this every year. My favorite part is when the dad receives his “major award”, the infamous leg lamp. Looking at the crate he announces “Look, it says Fra-gee-lee (Fragile), must be from Italy”

I can trace the moment when I was turned off by this flick was the year it ran repeatedly 24 hours. It may have been TNT network.

Best Chistmas special? Animated Year Without a Santa Claus just so you can sing along to the Snow Mieser and Heat Meiser songs.
