WOW, MICHELLE! YOU VIRTUOSO, YOU! NICE JOB ON THE DRUMS, BRYAN.

So far there have been doo-wop bands, rock n roll bands, new wave bands, punk music bands….and now we have possibly the VERY FIRST BLOG BAND! Interesting.

Well, Michelle, to you and your family, to the HOTAIR Staff, and to my fellow and sister commentors here…

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANNUKA, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

BTW-Michelle, many thanks to you and your staff for giving us this wonderful, important, and essential site–an all important weapon against the enemas of our great nation!

My Dad played guitar and his sister (my aunt) played the
piano and organ and my sisters, brother and I would try to
sing. Probably not real well. But ya’ll made me remember
those times so long ago. Thanks. One of my sons and his
daughter play the drums and another son and his son are
learning to play the guitar. They plan to play together
Christmas day. Should be fun. Hope they sound as good as
you two. Thanks again from an old retired Army guy from
Texas.

No, no. You folks simply don’t get it. While Michelle and Bryan render the SONG about a sleigh ride together, Allah is the one that actually has to PULL the sleigh. Sorta’ like that miserable little dog in the “Grinch that Stole Christmas” cartoon. (Please don’t ban me, Allah.)

My Marine son is home, my oldest son and family will be here later today and I have a million things to do But for some reason I just keep playing this over and over.

Wow, Michelle! You [briefly] sang in one video, played keyboard in this one. What’s next? Some dancing? Be a triple threat!!! Heh.

She did dance! Remember that time someone set up a bogus web site where they were trying to change the earth’s orbit by organizing people around the world to jump at the same time? She jumped and danced with an Arcadae game.

See Michelle, all that classical training paid off. Michelle should have piano showdown with that Kos fella!

Impressive! I keep pointing to Michelle as a role model for my daughters, and she keeps making that decision seem very wise. Brains, strength, beauty and musical talent… your family is truly blessed to have you.

I’ve been a sporadic poster and obsessive reader of this site for a while. I must say it’s been worth every minute. Allah, thank you for letting me have access. Bryan and Ian (and Vent guest hosts), you all add to this rich experience. I thank you all for your professionalism and unflagging efforts to make this the first-class, thought-provoking group that it is.

And to all those who post here, either frequently or occasionally, Merry Christmas and a happy, peaceful and propserous new year to all… that includes you, honora.

SailorDave on December 22, 2006 at 6:24 PM

John on December 22, 2006 at 11:31 AM

My curiosity went up, and I just searched “Michelle Malkin music.” After a few pages of garbage, I found the following NRO article. As for me, I’m glad to know I’m not the only classical musician who is conservative. That in itself is a Christmas gift.

flutejpl on December 22, 2006 at 6:35 PM

Drat. Let’s try that link again.

flutejpl on December 22, 2006 at 6:37 PM

Neat montage. Unfortunately, I couldn’t place all those scenes. As amateur as it may have been, I couldn’t help but be impressed and envious of Michelle’s and Bryan’s musical talents.

Entelechy, from most anyone else I would think those greetings were a copy and paste job, but I suspect you actually knew all of them by heart. If so, I’m immeasurably impressed. You are quite the linguist.

Wish you all Mighty Holy Days and Happy New Year.

SailorDave on December 22, 2006 at 6:24 PM

Techno-geeks refer to this phenomenon as B-cubed (Brains* Beauty*Brawn), and Michelle Malkin has definitely got it. I like music as much as the rest of you, but say a prayer to God this Christmas and thank Him that the boss dumped her music major at Oberlin. We NEED her here doing exactly what she is doing. What a waste it would have been had she become just another music teacher or entertainer. N’est-ce pas?

Donkeyhue on December 22, 2006 at 11:40 PM

Wow! That was awesome! Thanks Michelle and Bryan.

And for those who want to sing-along, here’s the lyrics:

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling, too
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling, ‘Yoo-hoo!’
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you

Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, let’s go
Let’s look at the show
We’re riding in a wonderland of snow
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, it’s grand
Just holding your hand
We’re gliding along with a song of a wintery fairyland

Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy-cozy are we
We’re snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be
Let’s take that road before us and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you

Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, let’s go
Let’s look at the show
We’re riding in a wonderland of snow
Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up, it’s grand
Just holding your hand
We’re gliding along with a song of a wintery fairyland

Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy-cozy are we
We’re snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be
Let’s take that road before us and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you
Sleigh ride together with you
Sleigh ride together with you
Sleigh ride together with you

You know what this means don’t you… request-mania! :-)

RD on December 23, 2006 at 12:49 AM

Kevin, the greetings are easy. However, I don’t speak Greek and Hungarian. I added the latter for our e-friend Janos Hunyadi. The Irish I added for AP :)

A European background lends itself to easily being a polyglot, as so many languages are related. It’s much fun. Thank you for the encouragement.

I love the saying on top of your site. Regards,

Entelechy on December 23, 2006 at 1:03 AM

Entelechy, wow. You speak 8 out of 10 of the languages.

I studied Spanish for a while and I see the similarities between Spanish and Italian, and sometimes French. German occasionally sounds a bit like English, though it seems to contain a bunch of extra letters. :) As for the rest, I’m totally lost.

But I do have a fascination with words and their roots, as perhaps indicated by my (in hindsight probably unfitting) substitution of “Mighty” for “Merry”, and breaking apart of Holidays into Holy Days.

Others devised it, but I like the tag line on Embracing the Risk, too. Thanks. I’m just looking for some honest, meaningful discussion. :)

Best regards,

Kevin on December 23, 2006 at 2:58 AM

That was just perfect. Excellent song choice, too. You just have to (try to) sing along.

Merry Christmas to Michelle, Bryan and Allah.

William2006 on December 23, 2006 at 3:33 PM

Kevin,

The reason English and German seem similar is because they are. English is a Germanic language, descended from the same ancestor German as Modern German. The first wave of proto-English speakers were the Angles (from which word “English” comes) and Saxons, “illegal” immigrants from Northern Germany. The Latin influences came later by way of the Catholic Church and the Normans.

I’m just looking for some honest, meaningful discussion. :)

Kevin on December 23, 2006 at 2:58 AM

Indeed – we need more of it!

Arnold, the prairiemain, is right. Here are a couple of sources to poke around in, Romance languages (I believe that French is most different from the other four), and Germanic languages.

Sorry all for the off-holiday topic – but very near and dear subject…

Entelechy on December 23, 2006 at 4:58 PM
