Bill O and the Donald had at it this evening over the Rosie affair. Hopefully this will be one of the last, if not the last, posts on the matter. The best part is when Bill tries to tell the Donald what he can and can not sue Rosie for. Watch Trump’s reaction, it’s gold. Enjoy:
By the way, “how would you like to kiss Rosie everynight?”

ooops sorry AP…gotta pay more attention when I read..but see, that visual really disturbed me.

Trump is right. If he would have responded on the intellectual level no one would listen. Butch is out of her league.

I do not understand why O’Reilly tried to talk shop regarding the law in this case. He treads on thin ice when he engages in that territory.
Trump appears to have consulted with lawyers who encouraged him to go after Rosie on legal grounds, that is the word from Trump.
O’Reilly should have avoided that terrain.
Regarding going after Rosie on personal grounds, I usually don’t recommend that either, but I do think that Rosie is overdue for such venom, as is Bill O’Reilly, Michael Moore, and so many others who think they are smarter than they really are.
Rosie is an offensive, distasteful bully. She is arrogant, pompous, self righteous, self absorbed, and vindictive. I don’t have a problem with her getting her long overdue slap down.
I know one thing, I would not wish to be withing 100 yards of Rosie. I am afraid of contamination, which already oozes from her image on “The View” and via photographs and her loud, offensive mouth-voice.
Excuse me,
I have to contact HAZMAT and get a decontamination crew here to cleanss me of this Rosie character!

Nice to see that O’Reilly is right on top of the most important news story of the day.

Correction,
When I stated: “Regarding going after Rosie on personal grounds, I usually don’t recommend that either, but I do think that Rosie is overdue for such venom, as is Bill O’Reilly, Michael Moore, and so many others who think they are smarter than they really are.”
I meant “Bill Maher,” not “Bill O’Reilly.”
Bill Maher, and also David Letterman, are way overdue for a smack down, the arrogant, crass, condescending, facts don’t matter, defaming and berating scowlers that they are.

You know I was with O’Reilly there for most of it but Trump did make a good point at the end. By being so venomous it did get more play for him.

Trump came off like a punk, but I’ll still take him over that fathead any day.
JammieWearingFool on December 21, 2006 at 9:15 PM
Rosie deserves to be slapped around a bit- she is, at heart, a bully. This will do her good, if it causes her to reassess her style. Trump gets some press- he wins. And if Rosie gets booted from the view, Barbara Walters, a Trump friend, wins. Feel the love.

Which fathead, JWF? There are many to chose from: one must be specific
It’s inaccurate to call Butch-Rosie a fathead, because of the injustice done to the rest of her by ignoring the Fat Entire-ness of……

Janos Hunyadi on December 21, 2006 at 9:21 PM
Trump is right, no one would have paid attention to his response if it had been civil and people would have assumed “oh, he didn’t fight back, Rosie must have been right about some of the things she said”
This relates to the questions of why Bush sits back and takes it from the Dems and never fights back. He thinks “being the bigger man” and letting the Dems go wild helps him, but I maintain he wouldn’t be nearly as unpopular as he would be, if he’d only fought back. If I were him, everytime a Democrat called him a liar on WMDs, I’d have gone out and read dozens of Dem quotes on WMDs in the 13 years prior to the war. I’d have constantly slipped mention of Sandy Burg(l)er in to every press conference. I’d have repeatedly pointed out that Clinton passed on Bin Laden a number of times, etc. etc. etc.
As stupid as this whole Rosie/Trump thing is, and it affects nothing, Trump is right… in the sense that no one would know his side if he didn’t attack back so viciously.
RightWinged on December 21, 2006 at 9:28 PM
I think that Bill O. is trying to talk Trump out of the law suit because he may be afraid of a precedent being set. If a loud-mouthed, obnoxious television personality can be held responsible legally for their inane ad-hominem attacks, then Bill may be afraid that some lib somewhere may take him to court.
One other thing: I think O’Reilly is completely wrong to tell Trump not to pursue this. I think that if more people where held accountable for their irresponsible actions, there might be less irresponsible actions happening all the time. Libs have gotten way too many free passes and “get-out-of-jail-free” cards (Sandy Berger, anyone?). It’s about time someone held a trash-talking sphincter accountable for their actions. Go, Donald!!

I think I’ll take the multi billionaire’s side on this one. And come to think of it, like him or not, he has got to be one of the smarter businessmen on the planet. I didn’t really care much one way or another about him until this. Much like with Danny Bonaduce, when you stand up to these LLL’s and deliver a smackdown, you’ll gain points in my book.

You gotta love the Don! Don’t take no sh*&*& from anyone. I wouldn’t let my Dog Dubya kiss Rosie.
iam7545 on December 21, 2006 at 9:34 PM
I’m basically going to repeat what’s already been said. Trump’s right. If he tried to discredit her on an intellectual level, noone would’ve paid any attention to him. Rosie would have gotten away with it, again.

I wrote off BO’R back when he tried to claim that he invented/drove the “boycott France” bit years ago. A popular show is pretty impressive but I bet they have to grease his ears to get his head in the door everyday.
meh…

Donald and Rosie are both pretty obnoxious. Of course Trump’s lawyers will advise him to sue. The lawyers will get their check; win or lose. I only hope that this will not dominate the news services and just end with as little attention as possible.

Valiant on December 21, 2006 at 10:42 PM
I still think O’Reilly is a pretty straight shooter, and a smart guy. Trump just, well, trumps him here because Trump has nothing to lose. Billions against Rosie the Rump? Also, he doesn’t have to please anybody but himself, because he is not a politician!
R D on December 21, 2006 at 10:44 PM
Honestly I’d go for Donald Trump over Rosie any day. Despite him coming across as arrogant on t.v., he’s actually not bad outside of the cameras. I went to a real estate seminar with him as a speaker in Atlanta (back when his wife just had the baby), and he wound up staying around a couple hours afterwards just to talk to people and answer questions – instead of just running off immediately after his presentation. He was totally respectful and really laid back – something not too common in people of his stature.
(btw…this is my first post on here – glad to join everyone :)

Bear in mind it’s not just ‘Rosie’. It’s the American Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Corporation. Those are some mighty deep pockets (kets… kets…)
The Monster on December 21, 2006 at 10:57 PM
Sometimes O’Reilly is such an idiot.
He’s never attacked anyone… lol
My favorite part was when Don kept telling Bill to ‘don’t be my lawyer’. O’Reilly just couldn’t help harping on it.
O’Reilly has been pissing me off lately. Especially with his little crusade to make it illegal to climb mountains that might be dangerous. I don’t even know what the hell he’s talking about anymore.

So, as a straight man, would you rather Kiss Rosie or Donald every night?

Trump is speaking sleaze to power. That’s why he’s a rich bastard and Rosie’s a comedian in desperate need of a straight man.
spmat on December 22, 2006 at 1:42 AM
Oh, I think Rosie and Trump are evenly matched. You may not want to kiss Rosie, but do you think any woman would want to kiss Trump if he was not loaded? At least he trims the two inch spikey eyebrows these days. Still, that hair and beer gut — yech!

You are exactly correct.
I know from personal experience. I recently wrote a letter to the editor and a week later the paper printed a rebuttal from a committed leftist that was a 200 word screed against me, Republicans and Bush, that ended in a blood libel equating me to someone looking forward to the mass murder of Americans.
The left believe that they can get away with it because “their cause is just” and we’re evil people who don’t deserve basic civility. In other words its because they think that being Brownshirted self-righteous thugs gives them a ‘pass.’
Rosie is going to find out differently.

The Donald is right when he says ‘there are those that stand up for themselves and those that don’t’. The members of the GOP should listen clearly to Donald. They have been losing in the court of public opinion because they think they can win the argument by taking the moral high road. If your message is shouted down and/or never heard, how can you expect people to understand your position.
brtex on December 22, 2006 at 9:30 AM
I don’t know if the GOP wants to start taking advice from Trump. The interview with Larry King was interesting. Especially the part where Trump goes off on how people shouldn’t get away with lying, adding “just like all the lies that got us into this stupid war in Iraq.”
