Better than “Brokeback to the Future”? Perhaps. Perhaps.

wtf is up with all these brokebacks? The movie was bad enough, does Allah really feel it necessary to destroy every good movie on Earth?
Defector01 on December 21, 2006 at 10:46 PM
Hahaha. Come on, that was hilarious.
Allahpundit on December 21, 2006 at 10:47 PM
Rule #1 was brilliant.
TheThink on December 21, 2006 at 10:48 PM
Heh. That was funny.
This kind of brings it full circle, since the actual “Brokeback Mountain” trailer uses the music from “The Shawshank Redemption.”
Slublog on December 21, 2006 at 10:54 PM
“About six or seven inches long. It looks like a miniature pickaxe.”
Bwahaha! That stinger at the end made it good.
I still prefer “Brokeback to the Future.”

Anything that has the words “Brokeback” in it, you might want to skip. (spoken in jeff foxworthy voice)
R D on December 21, 2006 at 11:08 PM
I like Shawshank as a movie. I’m not gonna ruin it.
Sorry AP, I gotta pass.
Coronagold on December 21, 2006 at 11:09 PM
This can’t hold a candle to the classic “Brokeback to the Future.”
Why is “… Future” better? Because they took a COMEDY and turned it into a mockery of a ponderous oh-so-serious movie. “Shawshank Redemption” was already ponderous and oh-so-serious, so the effect of the satire is not as striking.
If there are any ambitious YouTube auteurs out there thinking about their own “Brokeback” parody, I would suggest picking some kind of comedy, to wit: “Brokeback Saddles” (“Blazing Saddles”)
To make the “Brokeback” parody work, it is important to have a “buddy movie” format, with two male characters who have a lot of scenes together. (I suppose “Star War” with Luke and Han might work.) You see that, from the cinematographic standpoint, a lot depends on using reaction shots with unrelated (and vaguely suggestive) dialogue in voiceover.

See, here you go: “Brokeback Dumb and Dumber.” The production values of this one aren’t as strong as some of the others, but they’ve got the right idea.
Ali-Bubba on December 21, 2006 at 11:34 PM
That’s a good one too.
Allahpundit on December 21, 2006 at 11:35 PM
Please…..please, can someone make these stop?
Janos Hunyadi on December 21, 2006 at 11:36 PM
“Brokeback Rocky Mountain”
Ali-Bubba on December 21, 2006 at 11:41 PM
Alright. Brokeback Hogwarts. Top that.

“Brokeback of the Ring”

Which is wrong on so many levels.

You win. I can’t listen to that tune one more time.
Bryan on December 21, 2006 at 11:56 PM
There are many Brokeback Karate Kids. And more than one Brokeback Redemption.
All the colors of the rainbow. So to speak.
Allahpundit on December 21, 2006 at 11:57 PM
“Brokeback Pumping Iron”
Ali-Bubba on December 21, 2006 at 11:59 PM
There are several Brokeback Potters too. There is, it seems, no shortage of Brokebacks.
Bryan on December 22, 2006 at 12:00 AM
OK, last one for me:
“Brokeback Stooges”
Ali-Bubba on December 22, 2006 at 12:03 AM
Brokeback Chuck.
I wish I could quit this!
Bryan on December 22, 2006 at 12:05 AM
Agreed. Also, after a while, that stupid theme music gets too annoying.
Ali-Bubba on December 22, 2006 at 12:08 AM
OK, I lied:
“”Nightmare on Brokeback Mountain the 13th”
Ali-Bubba on December 22, 2006 at 12:16 AM
Saw that one yesterday. It came up on the options after that DMV prank video.
Bryan on December 22, 2006 at 12:20 AM
Hey, Bryan, you got mail …

Michelle says “balls” one time and look at the pain
it’s causing Bwahahahah
Texyank on December 22, 2006 at 1:45 AM
I can’t stand recuts. They are boring and unimaginative and not particularly funny. I don’t mind the childish and crude–that can be funny–but this is just boring drivel.
I kind of thought Hot Air was something special–a new media. Now it’s just turning into another compfused.com or ebaumsworld.com. We already have enough of those on the net. It’s not original, it’s far below what you would expect from a site like Hot Air.
Faith1 on December 22, 2006 at 8:18 AM
WTF, It’s a BrokeBack Attack.
iNeXuS on December 22, 2006 at 8:42 AM
Are we done now?
georgej on December 22, 2006 at 11:51 AM
I like Brokeback Redemption because I have refused to see Shawshank–now I don’t have to and I got it in one neatly-packaged series of clever swipes at self-important Hollywood types.
Having said that, I believe we’re done with the Brokeback meme, fellas.
Merry Christmas!
ScottMcC on December 22, 2006 at 11:57 AM
Why do they call it Brokeback, when it should be Brokebutt?
Kini on December 22, 2006 at 2:18 PM
Men are weird. Doesn’t matter how old, how educated, how accomplished, there is always that remnant of the little kid giggling over anything remotely sexual. Oh well, small price to pay for their other lovable traits.
honora on December 22, 2006 at 3:34 PM
“Why do they call it Brokeback, when it should be Brokebutt?” – Kini.
Good one, but I like mine….”Barebutt Mounted”.
doingwhatican on December 22, 2006 at 6:05 PM
Haha, this was great. Just as good as to the future.
