Video: Surveillance footage of attack on U.S. embassy in Damascus

The lone jihadi survivor later died of his wounds, or so the Syrians claim, so we’ll never know how they managed to infiltrate one of the most heavily protected areas of the capital. Did they find a weak point in Syrian security, as Time suggested? Or was this an inside job, as one of ABC’s analysts seems to think?

Never mind the explosions. Watch the poor guy passing by the embassy at the beginning of the clip. God only knows how many Iraqis he symbolizes.

Funny how the guy who was ambulatory following the attack died in custody.

Too bad Assad doesn’t allow the Syrian version of Truthers. Those sort of people who question Syria’s government disappear faster than that surviving jihadi did. Hey, do you think we can ship him a few of our Tinfoil Hat Brigade to Damascus? “Here’s a real government conspiracy for you to investigate Oh try not to picked up by Syrian Inelligence or you will be praying to the protections you have under the Patriot Act.”

Thanks John Freaking Kerry for strengthening the Syrian’s views that the US can be toyed with if you just play to key players political interests.

You phreaking rock.

That’s a good report by Ross but I’m not happy about the airing of classified security-camera footage. I’m afraid the guys that sent these terrorists are going to be reviewing that for a play-by-play on how to make the next attack work.

Here’s a fun tinfoil-hat thought for the day: Our government leaked the footage in order to suggest to Al-Qaeda that Bashar Assad set them up.

because the guy was up walking around does not mean he was not seriously injured…though I would not be surprised of course if they killed him.

because the guy was up walking around does not mean he was not seriously injured…

True enough…but I prefer to think of the Syrian regime as evil enough to silence him.

Good report, but Brian Ross got his descriptive words mixed up. Since these lunatics were attacking the United States embassy, they shouldn’t have been referred to as “terrorists.” According to the MSM, they should be called “insurgents”, or “freedom fighters”, or…something.

Chalk one more up for the “Religion of Peace.” Did Brian Ross, ABC’s crack investigative reporter even mention one time that these were Muslim terrorists? Or that the guy who was shot dead on the street was a Muslim. Sure, Islamo-facists like to kill Christians and Jews; in the absence of an infidel-rich environment, they’ll satisfy their bloodlust with the life of coreligionists (do I really need to give examples?)

This story got almost zero press at the time. Afterall, it was pre-election and doesn’t play well with the MSM generalizations of the war on terror.
a) Bush and Cheney are trying to frighten US citizens into thinking its much worse than it is
b) The US doesn’t have any friends in the world (Syrians defended the US embassy)
c) The US can’t protect its citizens or interests
d) Muslims are being singled out for no reason whatsoever and we infidels are antagonizing them

Kudos to Ross for questioning the honor of the Syrian government.

Funny how the guy who was ambulatory following the attack died in custody.

Combat wounds, particularly concusive blasts, can cause serious internal injuries that may not be obvious upon first look, but would be readily apparent in exploratory follow-up surgery performed by properly armed Syrian doctors.

Looks like Brian Ross did a decent job on this report. There may be hope for the MSM after all.

But I’m not holding my breath over it.

Funny that this comes out in December instead of late October. And it’s buried on the Blog column while Buttugly Rosie gets TOP PICK!

Then again, perhaps that does answer the question!

Are we more concerned about Rosie v Trump and Britney’s underwear (or lack there of) then we are about being blown to Kingdom come?
