I’m trying to figure out how this would work…..it kinda makes my head hurt.

It was something we giggled about in high school. Back then, razzing each other often consisted of ‘You’re gay’ to which the defensive riff was ‘Yeah, i’m a male lesbian.’ Not the height of wit, but hey, it was the 80’s and I was in the 10th grade. My creative might also extended to music. I came up with alternative lyrics to ‘Rock Me Amadeus’. That however is not something that can be revealed on a family website.

I’m trying to figure out how this would work…..it kinda makes my head hurt.

Academic examples were provided, since unis apparently have “queer studies” now. As for public use of the word, let’s not forget Queer Eye For The Straight Guy and Queer As Folk.

Why on earth not? She has no recognizable skills beyond being an annoying sh*theel; she’s loaded. All she has to do is show up and take potshots at people. Me, I have to have a few cocktails in me before I become that friggin useless. I’ve always felt I was a lesbian trapped in a mans body. What’s that movie about switching places? Freaky Friday. I think I could dismantle her useless exsistence in a week, and have some fun.

Nevertheless, she is a major league, self absorbed Prima Donna, who has an over inflated image of herself.

It is possible that she is overcompensating for deep seated feelings of inadequacy and self consciousness over her life, especially over her deviant behavior, the disorder of homosexuality-lesbianism.

She often uses that disclaimer “As a gay woman” or “As a gay American” before she says something offensive and divisive. This is obviously an attempt at declaring absolute moral authority, which, of course, fails.

She has no authority. She earns more money as a celebrity than many intelligent people who are not celebrities, but her life sucks.

I would not trade places with her.

I don’t think that will happen. All those guys would want to do is throw a circus tent over her, and/or beat her with something…ok, maybe that’s not so different than what many people who watch the view want to…just kidding…sorry. Well, as long as they didn’t emphasize her gender, she could probably get a gig as a Yasser Arafat impersonator. Damn, why am I being so mean this close to Christmas? I am a prude when it comes to explicit public displays of affection and I don’t care if you are gay, straight or whatever.

well, I wouldn’t play it now, nor would I teach it to my grandchildren. When we were playing the game we didn’t know anything about sex yet. I was just saying that queer is just a word.

Depends on whether you’re of a particular sexual orientation, I guess. I’m not saying we should always be politically correct and never offend anyone, but I guess I just don’t like deliberately pejorative terms.

Actually, I made that assessment based, not on your entries, but on your deafening silence when similar offensive remarks are made by those on the left.
