So the argument that the Invasion of Iraq has created a windfall for terrorists isnt really true. Yeah they got more recruits but it has so badly divided Islam that the next war for them is not a war of conquest but rather an internal struggle between sects.

It is not hard to imagine in Iraq Sunnis eyeballing Shiites and vice versa while taking mental notes on who deserves a good head chopping when time permits.

Think its more war fatigue. Old Zawa figgered all Muslims would unite to start world dominance but the shia/Sunni fight in Iraq and the Palistinian split as well as the near civil war in Lebanon means that Islam isnt all one.

I think the Jihadist are beinging to feel that the best they can get is stalemate. They can kill US soldiers but that doesnt create the world wide caliphate. They are no closer to their goals they started on 911.
