Mary K IM’d me while this was going on to make sure I was clipping it, so comically overwrought was the spectacle.
Allegedly she’s a cokehead, an alcoholic, and a skank known for going “the extra mile” in club bathrooms, although Trump says not all the rumors are true. Besides, she has a “good heart,” and after all, which of us hasn’t been magically transformed into a skanky alcoholic cokehead by the temptations of New York City at one time or another? So she’s getting a second chance. Shrewd marketing: America loves a victim, even when they’re a victim of their own excesses.
If she misbehaves again, which she almost certainly will, she’s out. So we’ll have to wait a few months more for the inevitable Penthouse layout.
It’ll probably be their best selling issue ever.
Update: TMZ was just waiting for this to start posting the photos, weren’t they?

This would be newsworthy of the title of “Miss USA” wasn’t just a crown for being insignificant. Whether she was a pure virgin of the driven snow who rescued hungry children from burning buildings, or as it seems, a bi-curious, alcoholic cokehead her impact on the general public is still insignificant. Fact is, I’d never heard of her UNTIL this incident.
All-in-all, big freaking YAWN.

Worst thing that could’ve happened to her. If she’d been dethroned, she could have leveraged the publicity to launch a career as a “bad girl”. Now she’ll fade into obscurity as just another former Miss USA/Miss America, etc.
Quick…name a recent major pageant winner who’s had any kind of celebrity afterwards. I can’t think of one.
Vanessa Williams is still enjoying a successful career more than 20 years after her fall from grace.

Now’s a good time to examine how we treat addicts.
Why does a beauty queen get a second chance, but addicts on street drugs go to jail and never get a second chance?
She’s going to bounce back after all the attention she’ll get from counselors and ritzy rehab centers, while the heroin addict will be committing violent crimes and enhancing their trade while in prison.
WSJ had a great article recently about the temptation of these 4 star rehab centers.

One, she has not been convicted of breaking any laws. Nor, is there sufficient evidence to arrest and convict her. Two, addicts, where there is legal evidence of possession or even possession for sale/sale of small amounts, get numerous chances to obtain treatment in lieu of incarceration. Now, stop picking on hot beauty queens!

A tremendous service to young people? I doubt it. How about picking someone who is stronger than this? She knew the rules, broke them, and she should suffer the consequences of her actions. As ALL of us should. I don’t mean that we don’t deserves second chances, but this isn’t the kind of thing for that behavior to be given a second chance. Just IMHO.

I think the only thing I thought was odd is that Trump said he had not decided on what to do with her until 10am the morning of the press conference when he spoke to her /boggle . I’d have hoped he had some idea which way before then..this story has been out there for awhile now..granted I’m sure him and the panel that runs the pageant needed to have time to investigate things.
I don’t have too much of a problem with her getting a second chance. I think them doing a press conference was kinda lame. At the press conference I was laughing at the stupid questions from the media. I think if they had stones they’d have stoned her lol with the questions they kept asking over and over almost trying to talk Trump out of it.
I wish Spears and the other celeb ladies who keep showing their bare goods would be half as humbled as this gal appeared to be. I think the ratings have slipped because it used to be cool way back when to oogle the women as meat and now we have spent a few decades trying to change that image. I just know growing up..those pageants were popular and talked about a lot, now they aren’t.

When this video started I wanted to give her a chance, but after listening to her talk she should be gone. She pronounces “especially” with an X…. “eXpecially“. I hate when people do that. Does that annoy anyone else as much as it does me? Particularly in her case because you know she has been allowed to be dumb because she’s hot.
Also, for all those talking about whether she’s hot or not. I agree with AP that she’s hot… but she’s like the stuck up biatch that you see in a bar that you wouldn’t even waste your time with because you can see how stuck up she is a mile away. Plus, am I the only one who finds fake jugs unattractive?

I refused to watch the video, but sadly I was trapped listening to the audio of her blubbering while driving in to work today. I wish this was truly harmless fluff, but it is not. This is why Islamists hate us. Many of them don’t want to move the world back to the 7th century as much as they just don’t want their daughters winding up on the Muslim version of the Jerry Springer show. This is how the rest of the world views America, by our media. Their perception of Americans is based on Springer, Maury, Wife Swap, Simple Life and Supernanny. You missed my point. I love beauty queens as much as anyone, but there is so much counseling and treatment afforded to the rich and famous, but very little to your average addict.
It makes more sense to place our emphasis on giving the best counseling and therapy to those who would otherwise turn to a life of crime and violence.
News flash: You have to possess drugs to take them. And an addict doesn’t think of the consequences b/c they are ill.
Can you guess that I’m not a proponent of the War on Drugs?

Yeah, it is just a silly competition, but on the other hand, our winner is a coked-up skank who’s going to rehab for alcoholism. It absolutely reinforces the view that our society is decadent and that we really don’t care about personal dignity anymore.
