BSG Marathon
posted at 10:02 am on December 19, 2006 by Bryan
Sci-Fi is airing a Battlestar Galactica marathon all day today. I say we make this a Day Without Geeks, everyone call in sick and stay home to watch.
So say we all!

Now he tells me! After I’m already at work…….I’m not feeling so good boss! Bird flu!

Heh. I’m burning the season so far to DVDs today anyway to clear up my TiVO hard drive.
So say we all!

BSG marathon day should be a national holiday.

I’m diggin’ the bagpipe, Braveheart-like music in the background.
Tony737 on December 19, 2006 at 10:33 AM
We REALLY need advanced warning on things like this. Now I’m frackin’ stuck at work.
Darksean on December 19, 2006 at 10:36 AM
This is so fracked up. I wonder if I can race home over lunch and set the VCR since I was only able to watch the first three episodes.
BohicaTwentyTwo on December 19, 2006 at 10:40 AM
Tony, my girlfriend is buying the soundtrack we like it so much.
I’m a big fan of the martial drums.
Mortis on December 19, 2006 at 10:53 AM
Why not watch them at work ?
For as long as this lasts

“And We’ll throw in Baltar. I’m Improvising. Sweetening the pot”
You got to love Dean Stockwell’s Cylon.

Haven’t missed an episode. I’ll buy the set when it comes out on DVD. But I’m getting irritated at the whole 2.0, 2.5 thing, which is apparently happening again this year.
urbancenturion on December 19, 2006 at 11:03 AM
I don’t know. I think I’m more interested in the sleeping arrangements with Six and Xena!
Darksean on December 19, 2006 at 11:27 AM
Yeh! Working at home most days DOES have it advantages :)

Hour upon hour of BSG? Cheery stuff for the holidays. Ha.
marykatharine on December 19, 2006 at 11:31 AM
I’m in. Funny, I’d planned on home schooling the kids.
Carin on December 19, 2006 at 11:33 AM
Well, I’m ready to see the Adama Manuever again!
allie on December 19, 2006 at 11:48 AM
Baltar betrayed his species on numerous ocassions, murdered hundreds of them and also is helping humanity’s enemies discover earth.
But he sleeps with six and xena? SOOOOO worth it :-D

So, given that BSG’s audience is predominantly tech-savy males, why in the Gods’ names do they not broadcast this show in HD?
That annoys me more than I can accurately describe.
DaveS on December 19, 2006 at 12:33 PM
Tech savvy does not equal rich :D
JasonG on December 19, 2006 at 12:50 PM
THere’s still no question that BSG’s audience is far more likely to want HD than that of almost every other show on TV, and yet they give no option to see it in HD.
Also… Allah, Brian, etc… you guy should consider dumping blogads. It’s getting ridiculous lately. I spend more time looking at the “Connecting to b.blogads.com…” line than I do this site.

Retail guys can’t get out of work!
Drtuddle on December 19, 2006 at 1:10 PM
Reruns of the show are on the Universal HD channel. It’s great in HD and 5.1!

Wish I could FTL outta work…….
VikingGoneWild on December 19, 2006 at 1:51 PM
A true fan would have a plan
Iblis on December 19, 2006 at 1:55 PM
I don’t like the whole ‘human looking cylons’ thing. Reminds me of the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ bad guys on Space: Above & Beyond. But I guess that makes it ‘nuanced’. Blech! Just gimme good old fashioned bad guys, aliens, robots, whatever. Bad guys that blend into our species is too realistic (islamic terrorists). I watch these kinda shows for escapism, not comparisons to reality.
Mortis, that’s cool. I have the Braveheart soundtrack on CD. It’s the only thing in my collection that isn’t 80′s hard rock :-)
Tony737 on December 19, 2006 at 1:58 PM
Yeah, but I don’t want to wait 2 years to watch old episodes in HD. That’s stupid. I mean, I still watch the HD ones, but I don’t want it in HD just for the sake of observing in HD what I have already watched. I actually want to WATCH THE SHOW in HD.
DaveS on December 19, 2006 at 2:02 PM
So Say We All!!
Although doesnt it seem like Bonnie Hammer is trying to kill this series, a marathon on a tuesday morning????
Viper1 on December 19, 2006 at 2:06 PM
You magnificent bastard! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
righteouschops on December 19, 2006 at 2:15 PM
FYI:
Spike TV is airing a week long marathon of Star Trek: Voyager, for those who have a 7 of 9(really a 10 of 10, IMHO) jones.
I know, not as good as BSG, so save the snarky replies, OK?
