[...] From the band Citizen Reign. The sentiment is welcome but I confess I’m not a fan of power ballads, which too often lapse into cheesiness. The trick in writing a salute to the troops, I think, is to embrace the extremes: either go the Beccy Cole route or go the full Stuck Mojo. Walk the middle ground and you’re apt to step in a puddle of schmaltz. [...]

[...] The band is called Stuck Mojo, and I must warn those that are offended by profanity not to watch the video. I found it over at Ace’s and it seems that Youtube has banned it from recieving any honors.
Bought my CD after it passed the "Three Song" test (had a sneaky suspicion it wouldn't be necessary, but I am naturally cautious). Not really my cup of tea on a normal day, but WOW! It's about friggin' TIME! This is the kind of music that gets me fired up and wanting to hurt something (in a purely militaristic and lawful way, of course)! I think I'll blast this on my way to my next drill; it might actually get me fired up enough to forget that I'm going to be freezing my tukhus off in the mountains. Days like this remind me why I never wanted to leave active duty...

Oh, and I can't blame AP for getting me to own a semi rap album, either. Had a friend introduce me to Mos Def's "The New Danger." The man's a bit of a lefty, I think, but he CAN write... Ah, well, my slide into decrepitude continues.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but Toby Keith didn’t make it for me.

[...] They’re everything I love about Bad Brains, Rage Against the Machine, and Chuck D. from Public Enemy—except without the stupid, sophomoric leftist boilerplate! Better yet, they understand the Religion of Peace and they hate jihad. I’m really impressed.
How many fine young black Americans are in Iraq, have died in Iraq, or have seen their fellow soldiers die at the hands of these savages, and having seen for themselves just how blacks are treated by the Ummah...you wonder what they think of the RoP when they get home. I bet they are simply tired of the bullshit...and this is juicy payback for them

Well, there's at least ONE rap song that I like! Man that was like a breath of fresh air! Finally, someone saying what a lot of people are feeling.

My oath to defend my country didn’t end when my enlistment ended, it’s a duty for EVERY U.S. citizen. It’s time to step up.

Yakko77 on December 18, 2006 at 10:15 PM

Amen to that brother, amen to that. We must all be vigilant, these people are here, infiltrated and smiling. After 9/11 they arrested some Arab guys near my house in N.Y., when I went home for a visit, I was shocked to see the entire line of people waiting to take a license road test were all of middle eastern decent. This, in a neighborhood that for all of my life has been middle class black on one side, middle class whites on the other and similarly stationed Puerto Ricans in the middle! They are offering 600, 000 dollars CASH for 500,000 dollar homes, no questions asked and the realtor's name is always some unprounounceable thing ending with Muhammed. Ever Vigilant we must be.

Once on a flight from Long Beach to JFK, I was taken aside for special screening because I only brought a one way ticket. This was fine, everyone was courteous and the anal probe only hurt my ego, (LOL). The group of people who were being singled out was pretty big and they had us all waiting in a holding area to be called over to a screening station. As the line started moving more and more people who were sitting, began to "fall in ". Soon there was only one man still sitting. The line had progressed to the point where I, fourth from the end, was standing adjacent to the man in question. He was of middle eastern decent, nicely dressed and sweating like a virgin on prom night! He was wearing an eggshell white, silk shirt , that was heavily "spotting" through from sweat. Rivulets had begun rolling down his face by the time I got there and he looked scared as you know what. FInally, having no choice but to join the line, he gets up. I could see his body shaking, ever see someone about to get in a fight but they're scared and shaking? Well, that was this guy in spades. As I got to the "special screener", I tried to surreptitously get his attention. "Excuse me sir", I said, "The man at the end of the line has been looking and acting suspicous for the last half hour and you can see that he's almost sweated himself out of his shirt" ... Well this cheeky little liberal took five minutes out of both our lives to instruct ME on the evils of racial profiling, I kid you not. He was actually beaming with pride as he said that they weren't going to pay any more attention to Sweat Boy than to anyone else, that, "all would be screened". After picking my jaw up off the ground and boarding the plane, I looked around for "MR SWEATY GUY" and guess where they had him sitting? NEXT TO THE DOOR! You know the one where he can reach up, pull the cord and send us all into the Pacific? (Don't think they actually work when pressurized, but hey, y'know?) So I look around to see if anyone else is outraged that the Arabian Knight is sitting by the door and no one else was worried about anything other than Britney kissing Madonna, or some other such foolishness. SOOOOO I left my seat on the left side of the plane, walked down to the area between the aisles where they keep the coffee and gently whistled to the large black lady that was sitting next to SWEATY ARAB GUY. She thought I was flirting and was tremendously flattered and yes I shamelessly used this to get her to leave her seat and come to the coffee area. (Get your mind out of the gutter! )Whereupon, I proceeded to give her the impression (without directly stating it of course) that I was some legal Air Marshally type of guy and I asked her to switch seats with me. After she got over the disappointment of me not trying to date her, she agreed. I switched seats with her , sat down and even apologized to Sweaty Guy for any confusion. Of which, he had plenty. I treated him politely and even threw out his garbage for him as any decent aisle seater would do.But we both knew that I was watching his every move, we sat knee to knee all the way to N.Y.
Look, I can't give you the context in this post, but he and I both knew that he wasn't right, that something about him was out of kilter and it had me "hinky" . And he knew, without it ever having been said, that if he moved wrong, even a little wrong, he was gonna see Allah sooner rather than later for the virgins. I am an extremely lethal fighter, well versed in various and sundry bad things I learned from Uncle Sam once upon a time and I always keep in shape. I got my eyes open. Do the same.

Well, there’s at least ONE rap song that I like!

They are offering 600, 000 dollars CASH for 500,000 dollar homes, no questions asked and the realtor’s name is always some unprounounceable thing ending with Muhammed.

As the line started moving more and more people who were sitting, began to “fall in “. Soon there was only one man still sitting. The line had progressed to the point where I, fourth from the end, was standing adjacent to the man in question. He was of middle eastern decent, nicely dressed and sweating like a virgin on prom night! He was wearing an eggshell white, silk shirt , that was heavily “spotting” through from sweat.
YouTube removed the block and the video can show up on the favorite list now - but mysteriously the view count is no longer incrementing.

I'm not sure what the "granularity" of the counting system is, but I'm don't think it's over two hours...

Just bought my copy. Not for the song "Open Season". I bought it for Walid Shoebat's words in "For the Cause of allah". Walid's words about "their messiah is our anti-christ and our messiah is theirs" I found quite profound. I've finally found the theme song (score)for the frustrations and rage I've felt about the whole extreme islam issue. This song helps me vent a little in my mind. After listening intensely, I feel a resolve. It's just like afer Michael Buffer says "Let's get ready to ruuuuumble!" Or like after a good cry, you know?

and to think...it's freakin' rap. Never thouht I'd buy...oh wait...I think I just saw a pig fly.

Que? Which part - the words, the music, or both?

Me, I was shocked at good the words were; like or dislike the message, they work. And their sound… great & a perfect fit for the song. I’ll have to hear their other songs to judge their overall scope in songwriting ability.

Hey. No pickin’ on the guitar player! (bad joke…) If he’s like that in their love ballads I’ll agree, but IMHO he’s not out of bounds on this track.

Both the lyrics and the music weren't as good as it could've been. the vocalist sounds like he was trying to force those words into place, like when a someone forces the wrong puzzle piece into a slot that doesn't match it. I didn't like the specific vocal rhythms, and the guitar riffs were lacking.

Now, with the guitar player. As someone who's into this type of thing (not specifically numetal, but heavy/thrashy stuff in general), I can tell you he's just trying too hard. To me, this is up there with Dukakis posing in the tank, or Kerry windsurfing. Also, when he was posing for his big "solo" camera shot, he just came off as a worse version of Zakk Wylde.

And when I referred to Neil Young, I was talking about his new song "let's impeach the president." It's horrid. If I want to hear good leftist lyrics, I'll listen to Bad Religion.

I'm a hardcore headbanger myself though I'm sort of luke warm on the rap-metal style but this was well done with an excellent message.

I got my terrorist hunting permit among otehr esentials for such hunting so I'm ready to rock if needed!

I just visited their forums....I looking forward to seeing what happens to their sales after today. I've seen this vid linked on most of my favorite sites and we are the kind of folks to actually support somebody we like in actual tangible ways.
