Then gets caught trying to hide the evidence.

If you ever wondered why Greg Mitchell’s qualified to edit the industry’s leading trade publication, this is why.

So, this: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Iranian Paradox – Champion of the dispossessed, global Everyman, the former Tehran mayor has become the most voluble, polarizing figure in the Middle East

becomes this: >Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Iranian Paradox – The former Tehran mayor has become the most voluble, polarizing figure in the Middle East

What I want to know is, who wrote this? Some writers could have meant the first draft comments to be taken as sarcasm but only the writer him/herself knows for sure.

The emptiness of what is left behind in the 2nd is probably the most disturbing aspect. And what exactly is meant by Iranian “paradox”?

Champion of the Possessed. Which surely makes him a hit with the Truthers.

I was sure that he was going to be the Person of the Year. I stopped reading Time (a.k.a. litterbox filler) years ago.

[RD] …what is left behind in the 2nd is probably the most disturbing aspect…

I’ve taken re-editing on Big Media web sites for granted by this point. Their cavalier attitude toward their web content indicates to me they don’t take their web sites seriously, don’t think they have to. (From the perspective of journalistic ethics. Behind-covering, they do a lot…)

Today on Rush Limbaugh’s show, Rush talked about how it used to be a “High Honor” to be named Person of the Year by TIME, and that TIME had completely devalued the whole award by copping out and just giving it to everybody.

I’d posit that while I agree that this year was absolutely a cop-out, it was only possible because TIME has already devalued the award down to nothing for naming all sorts of human debris as man or woman of the year in the past.

It’s no surprise at all that TIME would try something like this. The people at TIME, like most of those in the MSM, are as much strangers to ethics and honesty as your average snake oil salesman, only with less charm.

Champion of the dispossessed, global Everyman…

WTF!?!

This is entirely logical. The Left (of which Time is certainly a part) has been inching toward open fascist sympathies ever since 9/11. It has been their only alternative to supporting the war, something they will never do, even, as we see, at the price of getting in bed with the heirs of the Nazis. As a prescient man once said, you’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists. The Left is clearly with the terrorists, and more and more of them will be coming out to admit this out in the open.

They love him because he looks like a westerner, and he doesn’t like Bush…so really, how bad can he be, with that casual sports jacket, the top button undone…so charming…so fashionable.

He may come out with his own line of cologne, have a book deal, and appear on Leno and Lettermam real soon! /sarc

Can’t forget, the View, either!

kiakjones on December 18, 2006 at 4:02 PM

Do we have any videos of Ahmendinijihad brushing his air before his appearance at the UN, or anywhere for that matter? Iran’s Breck girl? He sees two Iran’s? Maybe he’s been posturing for the number two spot on a John Kerry ticket. So charming, boy the lows we have hit as a culture….

After this, is there anybody left who does not believe that the left wing has voluntarily jumped into bed with radical Islam? As long as it bashes the US and Jews, the left is fine with it.

I am sure that Time enjoys the luxury of rewrite as you go journalism that the internet offers. Unfortunately for Time they cannot rewrite their magazine once it is printed – I had a dental appointment today and having to wait for 30 minutes and read the likes of Time, Newsweek and People in the waiting area is much more painful than ANYTHING that the Dentist can dish out. Reading past issues is also quite revealing.
It is always amusing to read old issues and see how freakin out of touch Time et al really is. The most profound in my memory was Nov 2002. I found myself sitting in the dentists office reading the Time issue that was printed the weekend before. This was the weekend when the war in Afghanistan completely turned in favor of the good guys, or in Times opinion the bad guys – USA. Unfortunately for Time it takes 36 hours to print and mail. So here I was reading this magazine with articles that read like this – “Rumsfelds plan will never work – we will need 200,000+ troops on the ground to topple the Taliban.” Of course there was the wacko liberal mantra – “there will be tens of thousands of body bags..” “There is a rift between Rumsfeld and Powell – the tension is preventing victory..” “Too many bombs, not enough bombs, too many troops- not enough troops.” There were quotes from many of the wimp ars politicians denouncing the war and Bush and Rumsfeld. These were the same politicians that once the war in Iraq began would say things like – I supported the war in Afghanistan – but this…. Well – by Monday all major cities in Afghanistan had fallen. OOPPPPSS – One would think that the dinasaur media types like Time, NYT and Newsweek would apologize???????????? Hardly.

Ahmadinejad… neo-Hitler and useful idiot for the left. He hates Jews and Christians, is anti-Israel, and he’s a fascist. Why isn’t he running for the Democrat ticket?
