Technically, anybody from the continent of Asia is an Asian. Asia does include Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. They aren’t dumb, just correct.

DAT60A3 would have missed the point by an even wider margin if the “Asians” had been called “Terrans” or “Earthlings.” Really, the appeal of ridiculing a sh1th3d like him is that it’s so easy–but thinking about how easy it is takes away most of the thrill of victory. I wish I could stick to worthy targets, but that’s hard.

It is similar to saying that six holy men were removed from a US Air flight based on their suspicious behavior. Generic terms can often be misleading act as a filter.

Britons consider people from South East Asia as being “Orientals” and includes people from India, Pakistan, and other countries of the same region.

In Britain, they use the word “Asian” to mean anybody South or East of Russia.

So Chinese and Egyptians are “Asians.”

I’m sorry, but you are completely wrong. In Britain, the term Asian is used almost exclusively to refer to people from the Indian sub-continent. I have never heard it used for Arabs (except for where the speaker has mistaken an Arab for an Indian, Pakistani, etc), and only very rarely for Chinese, Japanese, etc.

Some nominally muslim, but nominally christian africans also, although its pretty much a given that religion played absolutely no role in the riots. Do your malkinesque best to paint this as an Islamocomufascistic trend that will spell the end of France as we know it all you like, it will not alter what the reality was and is here.

Oh, really? It’s a cheap argument to come in here and make a blanket generalizations like that without some very solid source attribution. What “reality” are you implying? How is it “pretty much given” that religion played no role in the riots? etc, etc etc.

What IS well documented and “pretty much given” is the islamic blood-lust for using violence to achieve thier objectives, and the exceptionally high percentage of muslim immigrants in the French population now and their high rate of poverty. Given the squalid conditions one would generally expect to find in a socialist country like France, muslims inciting the infidel useful-tool “youths” to commit islamic-style violence along side them is all too easy. Actually sounds like an effective strategy to me.

What do people think of when they hear the word “Asian?”

I’ll bet that they are thinking of people with so-called almond shaped eyes, such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Burmese, Thai, Cambodian, Laotian, etc.

Although some people might think India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Shri Lanka, I am pretty sure that the first thing that comes to mind is the likes of Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Michelle Quan, Kristie Yamaguchi, Yau Ming, Luci Lu, Zhang Ziyi, and others.

Including Indians, Pakistanis, and similar peoples into the term “Asian” is usually a second thought for many, Orientals as Asians first, and Indians, Pakistanis, etc., as Asians second.

Why the splitting hairs in the definition and the vision of what constitutes Asians?

Because it appears that if the news media is calling the attackers of Jews in Great Britain, or anywhere else in Europe as “Asians” they are definitely deceiving the public and employing misdirection.

In the French riots and car burnings, which also included violence perpetrated upon shops, shop keepers, civilians, and police officers, the news reported that “French youth” were rioting. No, they were not.

Same thing happened in Toledo, Ohio, in which it the news stated that “White Supremacists” or “Supremists” rioted.

No, they did not. The White Supremists or Supremacists came to the neighborhood to speak for the residents of a neighborhood which had been blotted with violence, vandalism, etc., for a very long time, and for which the government appeared to do nothing to quell the problem or to help the Caucasian and other residents of the neighborhood.

The white supremacist group left the area at the request of officials, on order to avoid causing violence from a growing number of blacks.

It was not until after the group left the area that blacks engaged in violence, vandalism, and riots.

Funny how that was not covered for ten weeks straight as a top story throughout the national and local news media. Funny also that that story was presented in headlines, and in most of the body of most stories about it, the few that you could find about that incident, as if it were whites and white supremacists who rioted and committed violence and vandalism. Stories which covered it often failed to mention what really happened, or indicate who the perps were, if at all, until near the middle or end of the articles.

Talk about misleading news presentations!

As long as the media, politicians, Hollywood – including television, and the public schools and Universities continue to skew and spin the facts, letting the perps off the hook, and indicting Asians, rather than Muslims, or indicting Caucasians or even racist neo-nazis, skin heads, or white supremacists of some kind, in violent acts, when all along it is a preferred group, such as blacks, Hispanics, or Muslims who are perpetrating the acts, the world will continue to kow tow to the violent thugs, and the people will continue to hold false beliefs and grow to despise the wrong people.

Oh, I (and others) aren’t accusing them of being dumb… just pointing out how they refuse to call Muslims and/or Arabs Muslims and/or Arabs. “Technically” yes, you’re right, but do you think this is about being “technical”, or about over PCing things because they don’t want to state the obvious if it’s going to offend someone.

btw being told by arabs to jews that the arabs are going to kill/beat/rape (in females case) is getting very common, my cousin has had it happen to her three times last month and the police don’t give a bleep
