You need to do some research on the Iranian political system and where power in the Iranian government truly lies. Dictator? Please look up the word. Ahmadenijad has none of the powers of a dictator. He doesn’t control the armed forces, he doesn’t control the internal security apparatus, all of his ministerial appointments must be approved by the legislature (and the Supreme Leader). Furthermore, he doesn’t control the state media. How is he a dictator again?

Those FACTS should not give you the impression that I think Amadenijad is a swell guy – quite the opposite. However, the office he holds has limited power and therefore his ability to do all the crazy things people accuse him of wanting to do (nuke Israel, bring back the 12th Imam, etc.) is quite limited.

Now, if one day we woke up and the Supreme leader had been assassinated and Ahmedinijad took control, then you might be closer to the truth. But for a variety of reasons, such as eventuality is very unlikely.

One time would be suffice for my liking. He could burn and burn like toast and see where his ideals will be then. Amadadinjerk………..

Just one ex. – those goons that beat up the students or anyone who opposes this dictator are all from other parts of the country or from other countries because he can’t trust his own to perform this ‘humane’ task.

In Iran we have REAL stories. Stories of real people in real danger for speaking their minds. Here the notsoMSM could have Pulitzer Prize after Pulitzer Prize exploring the underground in Iran. Oh, but that would be making the west’s case against Islamofacism. We can’t have that.

I hope, if this is not a faked “protest”, that the students involved have false papers and a good way out of town prepared.

A STAGED election with the Ayatollahs hand picking the candidates. They I think picked Imadamndijin thinkig the population wouldnt vote for that nut over a “moderate” Ayatollah.

The people in Iran would have voted for the devil over another ayatollah.

Maybe it was staged to demonstrate his “tolerance”.

I sincerely hope not. I hope this is the real deal because it’s about the only option we have that doesn’t include bombing.

However, to equate the heckling of a U.S. President or candidate for the presidency with students standing up to a dictator, at the risk of life, is really, really not grasping the magnitude of the risk.

Judging from the posters visible in the video, the pro-regime students outnumbered the dissidents pretty substantially. It takes a brave man to stand up in this situation; god bless the few who did.
