Iran has only one ball.

Quicktime never works for me. Is there a link to the video perhaps?

Sammy316 on December 10, 2006 at 1:28 PM

Good analogy of Iran’s attitude to the U.S.

Chris L. on December 10, 2006 at 1:29 PM

what Chris said.

It kind of reminds me of Hitler’s attitude towards everyone during the olympics.

One Angry Christian on December 10, 2006 at 1:36 PM

Who knew Rosie is Iranian?

Timber Wolf on December 10, 2006 at 1:37 PM

nevermind I found it on youtube.

The Iranian T.O.

Sammy316 on December 10, 2006 at 1:39 PM

Yeah Sammy. I blame Terrell Owens too.

Was he on the Bakr commission too. It wouldn’t surprise me.

The UN emboldens Iran with their wussy French-like weak talk, what do you expect?

Black Adam on December 10, 2006 at 2:03 PM

Is it such a good idea for Iran to piss off China, who has been enabling their nuke program and Iran’s defiance?

gmoonster on December 10, 2006 at 2:17 PM

Looks like it played to a SRO audience. I also blame Pele and David Beckham (who’s David Beckham?).

/sarcasm mode off

TwinkietheKid on December 10, 2006 at 2:28 PM

China and Iran suck in soccer. They should try the big boys: france.

Ouabam on December 10, 2006 at 2:32 PM

The Italians would have put a boot on his neck, literally.

Um calling Bruce Arenas, please schedule Iran for a “friendly”.

Theworldisnotenough on December 10, 2006 at 2:57 PM

Too bad the French’s prowess in soccer doesn’t extend to their national defense or their foreign policy.

One Angry Christian on December 10, 2006 at 3:05 PM

Soccer is teh gay

Iblis on December 10, 2006 at 3:27 PM

Bruce Arena isn’t the coach of the U.S. team, hasn’t been for several months now.

MattSkosh on December 10, 2006 at 3:41 PM

Man soccer sucks. What a stupid game.

lorien1973 on December 10, 2006 at 3:43 PM

The taunting by the Iranian foward just shows the lack of sportsmanship in muslim society. The goal speaks for itself no need to gratify the ego with the childish antics. Kinda reminds one of the Iranian President

sonnyspats1 on December 10, 2006 at 5:22 PM

where the hell was their goalie?

jummy on December 10, 2006 at 5:45 PM

Definitely unsportsmanlike. I hope there’s a penalty for that.

mikeyboss on December 10, 2006 at 5:50 PM

Ching chong ching ching ching chong ching ching chong ching chong.

The Ugly American on December 10, 2006 at 6:04 PM

I had no idea Chad Johnson played soccer for Iran!

And Sonny, if you want to go all “disrespectful” with the Muslims, you are going to have to watch a few NFL games first and then rethink it. They learned this crap from us…

Jaibones on December 10, 2006 at 6:18 PM

Sprang the offside trap, it was actually a good goal.

I doubt the Chinese politburo watch much football. They’re too busy selling missiles to our various enemies, and cheap furniture to us.

Oh, and France are not the big boys lately.

And football is not teh gay. Try saying that in a Rio bar, you’ll get your teeth knocked so far down your throat you’ll have to stick a toothbrush up your ass to clean them.

Martin on December 10, 2006 at 6:19 PM

where the hell was their goalie?

He got dribbled, watch the vid again, you see him on the first part of the clip

mainmann on December 10, 2006 at 6:28 PM

Took 13 posts for someone to whinge about soccer ‘sucking’ or ‘being gay’

That’s got to be a new record. But for some more useful, relevant comments..:

- Looked dangerously close to being offside. Then again, he did run past the defenders, who probably just let him through so easily that perhaps it just looks like it

- Bad sportsmanship or not, the goal cracked me up anyway

- Breaking news; China’s goalkeeper executed for conceding a goal, Iranian soccer team executed for playing ‘Western soccer’

Looked dangerously close to being offside.

Which almost every breakaway goal looks like, right? But it didn’t look to me like they messed up a trap; he just beat them down the middle. Ugly defense, followed by uglier goaltending.

Definitely executed…

Martin on December 10, 2006 at 6:19 PM

So, let me get this “straight.” Does this mean that all of the clientele of Rio bars are “gay”? And when they knock someone’s teeth out, are they allowed to use their arms/fists, or are they restricted to using their feet and head?

CyberCipher on December 10, 2006 at 8:42 PM

Anyone question the timing?

CyberCipher on December 10, 2006 at 8:45 PM

If this happened in the US, you bet your ass the player would have done the same thing. Doesn’t anyone watch football?? Hello?? Nothing but a bunch of bone-headed show-offs.

Hockey on the other hand–that’s a real-man’s sport! Hehehe…

robblefarian on December 10, 2006 at 9:01 PM

Sheez. That’s pretty wimpy. Kenyan matches have been interrupted by policemen arresting the goalkeepers, hauling them right out of the goal.

naliaka on December 10, 2006 at 9:25 PM

Wow…soccer…I just don’t understand a word of it.

serenity on December 10, 2006 at 11:19 PM

They also use their auto-silicon injected asses to mercilessly beat our feet. Just a scooch weird down there.

Iblis on December 11, 2006 at 1:19 AM

Two countries I have no use for. Why waste the bandwidth on either one of them?

CyberCipher on December 10, 2006 at 8:45 PM

Everyone questions the timing…

PS Soccer is an amazing game, but it suffers from the same flaws that football and baseball suffer from: human refs and all their baggage. Offsides might be the greatest scandal in sports since balls/strikes and pass interference.
