Hi KGB, i ran out of steam. My computer doesn’t actually have capabilities to type Chinese, and using freetranslation is too cumbersome, and they often don’t use the word that I want (like I wanted “hui jiang” Guo Yu, but they only gave me neng and shuo). I used to live in Taiwan too, about a year. Been back for over a year now. Where were you living? I lived in the countryside in Hualien county. Zai jian!

If I thought FOR A SECOND that there was the ability to get some traction and apply fair standards to this kind of behavior in the MSM, I’d be right behind it.

Yes, I mocked her too, but for the record, I don’t think she was “mocking” Chinese. She was (badly) trying to imitate it.

I agree. The clip didn’t make me jump up and say “Rosie is mocking Asian people.” More than anything it made me question Rosie’s acting chops….surely she could do a slightly better imitation of Chinese people speaking than that? Or maybe not.

The only ‘outrage’ (and, this would only be a 1 or 2 on my outrage meter) is the fact that everyone is o.k. with it. If it had been a conservative, they would have used it as evidence that the person is a big racist and, somehow, the person would have ended up donating to Jesse Jackson (I know, he’s not Chinese, but a race pimp’s gotta do what a race pimp’s gotta do). However, I don’t think you make the world more reasonable by immitating the people that are being unreasonable, so, I’m not even going to feign outrage.
