CNN: “Bush didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid, he made it”

Newsbusters has video. It’s a good thing they specified that he’d made the Kool-Aid. If they’d said he merely imbibed it, the nutroots would be calling them right-wing poodles.

Newsbusters reads this as an example of the old “critics say” dodge. Is it? Sounds to me like this one’s coming direct from Suzanne Malveaux’s bleeding heart:

President Bush and his closest ally, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, have stood shoulder to shoulder on the Iraq war since the very beginning. Critics calling Mr. Bush ‘the cowboy’ for stubbornly leading the charge, and Mr. Blair ‘the poodle’ for obediently following. But three years since the U.S. invasion, the two are still adamant their Iraq mission is sound. President Bush didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid, he made it. But perhaps now it’s a little less sweet.

Critics say Bush and Blair are a cowboy and poodle, respectively. Critics don’t say that Bush drank the Kool-Aid. Suzanne says that.

Stay tuned to CNN next week when Anderson Cooper interviews Dick Cheney for his new report on Iraq, “War the Chickenhawk Wingnut Way.”

CNN is the network of Europe, well, that is after each country’s state-run propag… media outlets. Bleh, Malveaux is only saying what she needs to say to maintain her place in the Georgetown social register.

I guess that Santorum speech was way too long and hard for them to read.

Hmmmm, Malveaux saying Bush made the kool aid–”Hello Pot, I’m Kettle.” CNN and MSNBC are rife with these adolescents in pink coats (matthews, malveaux, olby, etc.) drowning in kool-aid. In journalism today, its David Gregory’s world of self-absorbtion and we are all just props in it.

Mmm. Kool-Aid. Hey, I am thirsty.

How did CNN get around to this between the Richards, Brittany, Jeniffer, Cruise non stop coverage?

LakeRuins on December 8, 2006 at 4:24 PM

CNN? What is that, an AM radio station?

bopbottle on December 8, 2006 at 4:36 PM

CNN is the Kool-aid. Anyone who believes that Saddam loving, anti-American, leftist network is beyond help.

President Bush didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid, he made it.

I could be way off base here, but I think she may have used Kool-Aid as a generic example. She could just have easily used Tang or Coffee.

Us cool kids (I’m taking liberties here) know that the first use of Kool-Aid was coined by the conservative blogsphere to describe wholesale acceptance of liberal mantras. “Kos Kids love drinking the Kool-Aid.”

She either chose an unfortunate generic example or completely missed the bus on what the blogsphere’s definition of Kool-Aid is.

Nah, bop, it’s the Clintoon News Network. Or, some say, the Communist News Network.

I think perhaps this particular “Kool-Aid” definition derives from Jim Jones and his poisoned Kool-Aid drinking followers.

rplat on December 8, 2006 at 5:13 PM

rplat got it… its an older reference to anyone who blindly follows somthing, to the point of destruction.

What is really sad is that the MSM has NO respect for the office of the Presidency, even in time of war.

The Administration needs to start fighting back… they need to prosecute leakers, and pull the press passes of Groups who don’t feel the need to at the very LEAST, be respectful.

…I’ll bet that Howie Dean (”Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Dean, Dr. Fine…Dr. Dean, Dr. Fine, calling Dr. Howard”…)(I just don’t get tired of that gag) patted her on the head and gave her a liv-a-snak for this….

So much for CNN…firmly in the crotch pocket of the Left….

“The President didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid, he’s engaged in wholesale distributing and marketing. Thats right, I’m not just talking about a Kool-Aid Konsumer, he’s a walking, talking billboard for the Kool-Aide way of life, the patron saint of Kool-Aide, St. Koolicus if you will. I bet when he blows his nose frickin’ Kool-Aide comes out. I mean the freak pees starit Kool-”

Just remember to keep repeating to yourselves, Fox News is biased… Fox News is biased… Fox News is biased…

Also, can anyone tell me what is incredibly freakin’ annoying, unoriginal, and childish about this sentence?

The other day I saw George Looney on the Clinton News Network talking about how great the Dhimmicrats were.

DaveS on December 8, 2006 at 7:11 PM

Wait a minute, are you accusing CNN of liberal bias and Bush hatred!?

RightWinged on December 8, 2006 at 7:22 PM

Cartoon News Network?

CNN? What is that, an AM radio station?

I seem to recall it was a repectable(?) left-leaning news network but then it became a Jihadist propaganda machine, which is when I stopped watching it completely.

CliffHanger on December 8, 2006 at 11:40 PM

Caliphate News Network

CliffHanger on December 8, 2006 at 11:41 PM

Contrived News Network (to please the rest of the world, and demonstrate how erudite and nuanced the other side of America really is)
