Karol sends this. One of her clients is the Coalition for a Secure Driver’s License, which put out a new ad today to let New Yorkers know that crusading AG-turned-governor Eliot Spitzer is all set to arm the state’s illegal immigrants with valid licenses. Alarming news indeed, for reasons we’ve explained at length on this site.
So alarming, in fact, that I’d be linking this even if she hadn’t voted for me.
Check out who they cast as the terrorist. Why, he almost looks Arab. Outrageous!

Screw state driver’s licenses. It’s painfully clear we need a NATIONAL identity card. A tamper-proof, solid card that proves US citizenship.
The terrorist could also pass for Latino…GASP!
NTWR on December 7, 2006 at 5:22 PM
More alarming than you know. This will enable illegal aliens to get jobs as drivers. Driving/delivery will become “one more job Americans won’t do” because the wages witll have been driven down to nothing due to the flood of cheap labor. A few years a go they passed a law that illegals without license could not sue. Now, expect fraudulent insurance claims to go way up again. Also, in my state car ins. is mandatory. But, because illegals can’t afford it, the state taxpayer is expected to subsidize auto insurance for them.
EF on December 7, 2006 at 5:29 PM
“US Citizenship?”
Not needed in an open border society. That’s what this is about. Everyone is the same. Everyone is equal. No borders.
Oh yeah. I’m sorry. I forgot that the NAU is nothing but a giant wacko conspiracy. It makes perfect sense to give illegals drivers licenses.
Gregor on December 7, 2006 at 5:29 PM
Oh, the irony of Mr. Law and Order Spitzer aiding and abetting those who willfully break federal immigration laws.
Can he be charged as an accessory to a crime?
thirteen28 on December 7, 2006 at 5:30 PM
Ever get the feeling that damn near all these dhimmiwits in our local and federal elected offices are pod people?
Invasion of the body snatchers!
Sadly, they’re actually Americans… *sigh*
SilverStar830 on December 7, 2006 at 5:32 PM
Extremely debatable
Gregor on December 7, 2006 at 5:36 PM
HELLOOOoooooooo…..what STATE have we chosen EXACTLY to claim as “ours” when this all goes down. And it will go down, sooner than later.
Montana? Where?
seejanemom on December 7, 2006 at 5:45 PM
Looks almost Italian?
Entelechy on December 7, 2006 at 5:46 PM
It is way to easy to get a real drivers license as an false but official ID.
What we need are real drivers tests, that are just a big hard to pass. What we have now are mostly just fill-in-the-blank ID cards that allow us to drive.
We also need a different Drivers License for US Citizens, and more stringent driver test for non-Citizens.
We make it way to easy for illegals and criminals to cheat our official identification systems.

On the radio, I heard some bizarre clip of Karl Rove saying that the poor illegals can’t go home for holidays, to see the folks. After a while they are here so long, they no longer have ties to Mexico. WTF?
EF on December 7, 2006 at 5:55 PM
Rove’s answer to that is to bring their “folks” here also. Bring them ALL here.
Unfortunately, I’d almost guarantee it will be the opposite approach. Our leaders will feel it’s not fair to have such a hard test given to the poor illegals who don’t even understand the language … so they will make their test almost impossible to fail. Questions such as …
“What is your name?”
“What does the steering wheel do?”
“What is the window that you look through made out of?”
Of course - all in spanish - even though all of our signs are in English. For now anyway.

No surprises with Idiot Spritzer, he is very anti-American. Now with him Governor and BlowBerg Mayor of NYC, Senators Hiltery and Shoemore the State of NY is all set. NY will not let California and San Fannycisco push them around as the most socialist state.
Wade on December 7, 2006 at 6:18 PM
I’ve always wondered about this myself. Even though I generally do not support unions, I have to imagine the Teamsters will sit by and let this happen. I have no doubt the union
thugsleaders would sell out the drivers if they could make mor emoney off illegals, but at some point there is going to be a backlash.I’m not condoning violence either, but I’m amazed that there aren’t more stories about violent altercations when illegals invade and take over a certain trade. I know there are no instances of this happening at all, because every story would be exploited in the MSM to the max.
reaganaut on December 7, 2006 at 6:40 PM
No Dr License for illegals is a fine, but bare minimum, start to a massive problem. But these criminals, they’ll find something sufficient ( fake ID’s) to fool the airlines, and most cops w/out of state ID’s.
Stop them BEFORE they get here. BIG fences, firm return policies, allow any cop anywhere to ask and hold illegals.
And harsh and instant policies for repeat offenders.
.
Maybe we could just enforce some existing laws? I’d sure like to pick and choose which laws I want to live by as well, but I don’t have that luxury…..I’m an American citizen.

Yet more proof that I have bad taste in men.
I saw the picture of the guy on the main page and thought, “Who’s that? He’s hot.”
Turns out he was the guy cast as the terrorist.
Errrrmmm…..
I mean, I am shocked, SHOCKED that they would cast a somewhat swarthy looking fellow as the terrorist. This is outrageous!

In LA in the early 1990s there was what you described between blacks and latinos in the drywalling business.
EF on December 7, 2006 at 7:15 PM
To be fair to Coalition for a Secure Drivers License, if they had used an Arab, the ACLU would have been all over them already, demanding to a liberal judge that the commercial be removed. I think they got their point across anyway.
amerpundit on December 7, 2006 at 7:49 PM
No suggestions?
Canada?
seejanemom on December 7, 2006 at 8:21 PM
I heard this, too. Un-fricking-believable. As if Karl expected us to all bust out crying after that little outburst! Little does Rove know that many of the illegals sneak back home for the holidays/vacations/whatever, then come right back.
Poor KR has totally lost it and let’s hope to G-d that he doesn’t speak for President Bush!

Ted Bundy was hot (in the late 70’s, anyway).

What’s “G-d?”
ROFL! Come on Jen! Say it! It will be okay! It might scare Constantine and Greg H. away.

Are we forgetting that the terrorist didn’t need drivers licenses to board those planes, they had passports and were all in the country legally. The Federal government let them all in here, and now they want to control drivers licenses too? I guess they figure since they did such a great job issuing visas, that they are now ready to move up and take over drivers licenses. No Thanks !! And we already have a “National ID” in this country which are called American Passports, and they are faked all the time. What makes them think they can make a National ID that cannot be faked? A National ID system would only give the federal government even more direct control over our lives.
It’s just another scam by the “big government” and “big Brother” crowd to get into our pockets and our business even deeper. Local government does a better job of controlling these documents….. or at the very least, they could not do a worse job than the Feds do. The National ID card idea has been around for a very long time. Privacy advocates hate the idea and well should. Those in favor of it have use every scare tactic in the book to try and make it happen. Thankfully, so far, our Congress has always shot it down. And I truly hope they continue to do so. The more the power is centralized the more potential there is for abuse of that power. This power is rightfully to the several states, and that is were it should stay.
Frankly, I am much more frightened by our own abusive government than by terrorist. I may very well live out my entire life and never get within ten miles of a terrorist, but the government picks my pocket everyday. But they are never satisfied no matter how much power they usurp, for them, too much power is never enough.
Lets save the money they would wasted on a National ID system and finish building the wall along the boarder…. THAT WILL MAKE US SAFER !!

Gregor, some people believe it’s blasphemous to write the name of the Almighty. Then again, ‘God’ is not really a name, it’s a title. The Hebrew consonants in His name are transliterated YHVH for English speakers (who, thanks to the French, don’t pronounce J correctly).
The Monster on December 7, 2006 at 10:43 PM
So that is what K-Fed is doing nowadays.

Although no system of identification will ever be foolproof, we need to be setting the bar higher for Driver’s Licenses, not giving the damn things away.
A good start would be requiring that application must be made at the local licensing authority, not just anywhere in the state. This way, (assuming we could find some intelligent examiners) a suspicious application could be “held” until a local law enforcement authority could verify the applicant’s alleged place of residence, talk to neighbors, etc. If not satisfied, further inquiries could be made.
This would no doubt inconvenience some, but it would be worth it if we “inconvenience” some terrorists into federal prison (or better yet, just send ‘em to Joe Arpaio.)
P.S. Entelechy, were you insinuating the “terrorist” in the ad was from Allahpundistan?
hillbillyjim on December 8, 2006 at 5:24 AM
corr. setting the bar higher for obtaining Drivers Licenses — (didn’t want to give anyone the mental picture of actual Drivers Licenses pole-vaulting over the “bar” or anything.)
hillbillyjim on December 8, 2006 at 5:29 AM
Missouri has a more temperate climate, and with the exception of a couple of enclaves of blue that could easily be taken care of ’cause they don’t got no guns and the rest of the state does (yes St. Louis and Kansas City, I’m looking at you) the whole place is more like what America SHOULD be.
Free speech, RKBA with the added bonus of CCW, not ate up with illegal invaders (Yet, but it is a growing problem that could be put down with an influx of like minded folks to out weigh the votes of the afore mentioned boils on the rest of our backsides.)
Another P.I.T.A. getting a toe-hold is a small, but slowly growing muslim problem. Perhaps you remember that little CDL’s for jihadi’s flap about a truck driver school in West Plains (45 miles from my home town) being run by muslims in K.C.? Like cancer, this a problem best detected and dealt with early. (IMO, No muslims = no problem)
Other than those two bumps in the road, for the most part it’s pretty much live and let live here in the Show Me State.

Seejanemom - Very true. At least Charles Manson was never a looker…unless you looked into his eyes. That’s when he’d get ya.
MOMinuteman - I remember back in ‘97 or ‘98 in south KC (near Ruskin/Hickman Mills) the LDS church had bought some land and were planning on building a church building. Everyone in the neighborhood complained and the LDS backed out (they tend to avoid being in areas where they’re really not wanted….especially in MO, considering the history). About a year later, the land was bought by another group that ended up building a mosque there.
Don’t know if there were any protests about the mosque going up, but they didn’t seem to care if there were.
