Video: NYC councilman calls for violence against cops

posted at 10:55 am on December 7, 2006 by Allahpundit

It’s Charles Barron, former Black Panther “and still a Black Panther” per his intro, milking the murder of Sean Bell with both hands. As he’s been doing for weeks now.

It’s hard to pick a lowlight here. Is it Barron calling black cops “house negroes”? Or is it this?

We need to let the system know that they need to fear us. They have no fear for us. And once you put the fear into some people’s hearts, whether is politically, economically, or physically, they will leave you alone…

[I]f we don’t get justice in this case, don’t ask us to demonstrate again. If we don’t get justice in this case, don’t tell us to be cool, to be calm. We need to get hot!

Actually, it’s neither. The lowlight comes at the end.

The footage was shot by Flip Pidot, who’s got the full rundown and a complete transcript at the link for your non-enjoyment.

Physical violence, and the fear of same, is most likely one of the root causes for the shooting.

On the O’Reilly factor a few nights ago, Geraldo made the ridiculous claim that Sharpton is a responsible leader who should be catered to in this affiar. However, he agreed that Barron is a totally irresponsible demagogue.

Anyone who can make Sharpton look “responsible” is totally evil. I cannot understand why FNC has Barron on so often to spew his racial hatred.

ptolemy on December 7, 2006 at 11:07 AM

What a bunch of geniuses you could hear all around in that audience.

RightWinged on December 7, 2006 at 11:12 AM

By keeping that segment of the population uneducated, the black ‘leadership’ continues to profit on the victim/slavetrade speeches.

doginblack on December 7, 2006 at 11:15 AM

They should have arrested that asshole for inciting civil disobedience.

BacaDog on December 7, 2006 at 11:16 AM

Charles Barron scares me. How did this guy get elected.

vcferlita on December 7, 2006 at 11:21 AM

Black Power, death to the pigs, racism begets violence, bring the troops home now. Am I the only one beginning to feel like we’ve transported back to the 60′s?

Holy time warp, I was half-expecting Abbie HoffMan to step up to the microphone.

Is all this social digression due to liberal progressive thinking?

fogw on December 7, 2006 at 11:21 AM

I don’t believe Dr. King ever referenced or referred to Black Police Officers as House Negros!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on December 7, 2006 at 11:22 AM

It’s time to call their bluff. No matter the outcome, Barron and his racists jihadists will not be placated. The only appeasement would be for NYC to hang Kelly and the five officers in a public square televised world-wide. Even then these bigoted malcontents would find something to bitch about. Do what’s right, if the officers were wrong then let them be punished but if not then leave them be. Then, let’s see what these poverty-pimps do…it’s past time to call their bluff…..

Did they pass a collection plate? Which “Rev” was there?

SouthernGent on December 7, 2006 at 11:28 AM

Arthur Schlesinger Jr. once wrote a piece (WSJ, as I recall) arguing that history works in 30-year cycles. Maybe it’s really 40 years.

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on December 7, 2006 at 11:29 AM

I no longer give a rat’s ass what goes on in Blue state land. They brought it on themselves.

Screw ‘em.

JammieWearingFool on December 7, 2006 at 11:44 AM

The law must be enforced equally, regardless of race, or political pressure, particularly in times of unrest.

Regardless of who they are, what color, creed, or national origin the law must be enforced, to the letter, with all people equally. This particularly means that if one group feels they have not been treated fairly they must address the issue through the system. Any call to violence, intimidation, or lawlessness must be dealt with swiftly and without compromise, regardless of who it is.

Let us hope that the authorities in New York buy into their equality doctrine and not make exceptions for blacks who would deliberately engage in violence and intimidation for poltical gain.

Black Adam on December 7, 2006 at 12:02 PM

So, if they don’t get “justice”…in other words what they want, they are threatening violence? Can we say “lynch mob”?
As a city councilman, isn’t Mr. Barron partially responsible for how the police perform their duties? Isn’t this somewhat of a failure on his part then?

Charles Barron scares me. How did this guy get elected. — vcferlita

…by saying the following to a ready and waiting audience…both his electorate and the enabling media:

Any time, in any institution in America, racism permeates every institution in America. And the police department is no exception. And we don’t care whether the shooters were Black, Latino, because the Negroes who were in – the house Negroes during slave time, they were Black too.

…by “any institution”, I assume he also means the New York City Council…’cause he’s as racist as Ted Bilbo on his worst day. He’s as racist as the guys who bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church…the bomb’s just not gone off yet.

This guy is in an ideological league with Sharpton, Farrakhan and the late, unlamented Khalid Abdul Muhammed. He’s trash…and trash comes in all colors. He’s only separated from the yahoos who killed Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman by the gene for skin color.

He’ll keep getting elected. That is because the fiction of victimization is easier than actually solving the problems facing the community.

Puritan1648 on December 7, 2006 at 12:20 PM

A couple people have noted Barron makes for an uncanny 60′s throwback. Funny you should say that – at one point during his speech (cut from the uploaded clip), he said, “Just like we had the last poets in the 60s, we’re going to have the last demonstrations, because next time, we’re taking it to the Hill.” He clearly feels he’s on romantic crusade poised to immortalize him, even if it’s at the expense of the saftey and/or lives of police officers and the very members of the community he purports to serve.

flip on December 7, 2006 at 12:28 PM

If they want total justice and seperatism, then I say give them what they want – pull police and fire protection, city utilities, hospitals, schools, etc… and let them support themselves – just what they want.

Then they have no one else to blame but themselves. Especially with leaders like the “esteemed” councilman to lead them to nirvana.

Almost makes me wonder if they are on the terrorist’s payroll.

Emmett J. on December 7, 2006 at 12:28 PM

CliffHanger on December 7, 2006 at 12:34 PM

As a Black Panther, that qualifies him as a terrorist.

JammieWearingFool on December 7, 2006 at 12:37 PM

why was whitey (a.k.a. the pig) there. didn’t he know he wasn’t allowed to be on what looked like a public street corner. these racists have no idea the level of irony they create when they are shown to be more racist than the democrats of the 50s.
the only thing “keeping the black man down” is retarded (offensive to those with any degree of mental retardation) idiotic “leaders” like barron who spout their insipid lies and bigoted hatred.

mattshu on December 7, 2006 at 12:38 PM

Chas. Barron, he of the Nehru jackets, is another “poverty pimp” which is one rung lower than a regular pimp…he does this crap anytime a camera is around…kinda reminds you of Chuck Schumer…but guess who will be absent if any real action starts……..you got it.

DoctorDentons on December 7, 2006 at 12:46 PM

Almost makes me wonder if they are on the terrorist’s payroll.

JammieWearingFool on December 7, 2006 at 12:37 PM

Here’s an even funnier question – Why does the United States Government NOT classify this sort of person as a terrorist – just like the sort that are currently spending quality time in GITMO?

Why do we collectively pretend that this sort of trash is normal and have any collective guilt about non-events that happened over 140 years ago?

We, ideally, should focus on being Americans, first and foremost.

The past is the past – learn from it or be eternally condemmed to repeat it.

the only thing “keeping the black man down” is retarded (offensive to those with any degree of mental retardation) idiotic “leaders” like barron who spout their insipid lies and bigoted hatred.

mattshu on December 7, 2006 at 12:38 PM

Close – the ONLY thing is the unwavering support of those who follow idiots like Barron.

At that point, could it not be argued that:

1. They are keeping themselves down by choice;

2. That they prefer the victim status because it is safe;

3. That they do not want to take responsibility for themselves, their lives, their communities, or families – even now;

4. That they want a race war.

Just random questions.

Puritan1648 on December 7, 2006 at 1:49 PM

You heard it here folks: Democrats are racist and violent.

I’ve said this 100 times… Most black people that I know are some of the biggest racists. All of the black people that I know are Democrats.

x95b10 on December 7, 2006 at 1:59 PM

I think Giuliani’s biggest strength was not buckling to crap like this.

Alex K on December 7, 2006 at 2:23 PM

I don’t think it’s simply a matter of “black people can be racist.” Rather, I believe that modern liberalism is, by definition and inherently, racist. Period. End of story. Buh-bye.

That’s one of the main reasons I’m a conservative – because I despise racism.

psrch on December 7, 2006 at 4:02 PM

So, why this, and why now? What does he really want? This is just a stick to pummel someone. Maybe make no-police zones like the banlieaus of France, perhaps, where terrorists can assemble unimpeded?

It’s pathetic that after all these years to get respect, Blacks have moved up into all layers of the social and work strata of the United States and now, they’re “the man.” Not in “You’re the man,” but the “Oppressor man.” Can’t win for losing.
Perhaps people will start to comprehend that it isn’t the color of a man’s skin, it’s his character that sets him apart. The African-Americans who have racheted themselves upwards share these values: hard work, decency, sacrifice, perserverence and family values: marriage, fidelity and a sense of responsibility to the next generation.
They have nothing in common with these grubbing sneaks who hold none of these virtues, and who resent the Blacks who do.

naliaka on December 7, 2006 at 4:06 PM

Bah. Racists like that mope and the other vile racists like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, the NAACP, etc ad nauseum make the KKK look like the Girl Scouts. They’ll vent, make blatant hate speech, incite hate and rioting, whine and wallow in their self-pity and self-hate and blame everyone and everything but the actual criminal(s) until they’re too tired or bored to do it anymore… or until the officers are rat fucked. They want everything handed to them on a silver platter.

I feel sorry for the Police Officers involved. They’ll be sacrificial lambs offered up for the black community just to pacify them regardless if they are innocent of wrong doing. It’s shit like this that makes officers across the entire country hesitate, and die because they hestitated one nano-seond too long out of fear of being sued or disciplined.

Ah the duality of our society. Give a white man a microphone and he says, “All blacks must be exterminated” and he’s vilified, prosecuted, and jailed for hate speech. Give a white man a microphone and he says, “Get violent with the police and the system!” and he’s inciting a riot. Lock him up.

Give a black man a microphone and he says the same things… he’s in the running for a Nobel Prize.

vcferlita on December 7, 2006 at 11:21 AM

You’re kidding, right? He got elected by racists who vote their skin color and to whom this racist crap is red meat. And these maggots are pandered to by the Democrat party as a plank of the party platform…

Jaibones on December 7, 2006 at 11:28 PM

Here’s reality, and I don’t care if it hurts:

any human — with half a brain — should have taken a cursory look at those assembled and asked, “How many of you misguided, ignorant, pathetic morons are going to wind up in prison or dead because you subscribe to this insanity?”.

Asking the white photographer to leave is only the tip of the iceberg. These people (it’s hard to place them in a category that includes people, but…we must) are the literal scum of the Earth. There is no race, no spirituality, no politics involved. It is scum screeching and belching venom for scum.

Period.

The democrats are the most racist group ever assembled in America..wait, you say the KKK is more racists? The KKK were born from the democratic party. They were the democratic party.
Why any minority (besides this guy and his ilk) is a democrat is beyond me.
