No matter what you think of the guy, Jack Cafferty has them.
He may be misguided on his views of President Bush and Republicans but his views on immigration are dead on.
Former Clinton Sec. of Energy and current Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson got his ass handed to him on a silver platter by Cafferty on the room full of situation this afternoon. Host Wolf Blitzer invited Cafferty to join him as he interviewed Richardson about his “idea” to get rid of the border fence, but the governor’s face went from grin to grim as the angry CNN correspondent tore the DHS, Congress, and anti-border enablers like Gov. Richardson a new one.
Watch as Richardson’s face goes from a grin to grim.

Oh — he’s also running for president. Try to contain your excitement.
UPDATE: He’s not running?

WOLF BLITZER, HOST: Jack Cafferty, our partner here in “the situation room” in the last hour, he was complaining and our viewers are complaining about your plan to get rid of the proposed fence along the U.S-Mexico border. I want to get jack in here. Jack, tell the Governor why you think that would be a mistake.
JACK CAFFERTY, CNN: It’s not so much what I think. Look at any public opinion poll prior to the election, the American people want the border secure. In their mind, imagine this, national security might rank ahead of relations with the government of Mexico. Our laws on the books against illegal aliens, against hiring illegal aliens, against entering the country illegally are ignored by the federal government. Five years after 9/11, we’ve done nothing to secure our border. We have the Department of Homeland Security, I think if you went to the dictionary and looked under “worthless federal agency” you might see the picture of the Department of Homeland Security there. They said gives five years and $7.5 billion and maybe we can do something about securing the border. In the meantime, we have 3,000 people a day entering this country illegally. We don’t know who they are. We don’t know where they’re going. We don’t know their business here. I bet you a dime to a dozen of donuts might have been a terrorist or two get across the border without us knowing. We have cities and towns all over this country overrun with illegal aliens. They’re trying to ask the government for help, they don’t get any. So their trying to pass laws themselves against lands lord whose rent to them, employers who hire them it’s a national disgrace.
BLITZER: All right. Jack.
CAFFERTY: You want me to go on?
BLITZER: No, we get the point. I want the governor to make his case, why zhao think about doing way with this proposed fence, and we haven’t built it yet is the course?

…so that’s what a highly-placed Hispanic politician looks like when he’s getting spanked…deeeeeelicious….
Cafferty had to be stopped…he could’ve gone on for at least another three minutes, when he’d have to stop to take a breath…then continue.
Even Wolfie was squirming.
Did you record Richardson’s respoinse? “I’m sowwy…”?
Puritan1648 on December 7, 2006 at 6:58 PM
I’d like to know what Gov. Richardson’s response was, also.
mikeyboss on December 7, 2006 at 7:03 PM
Beautiful!!!
God, I love watching open-borders advocates get their asses handed to them like this … in large part, because each and every one of them so truly deserves it.

CAFFERTY: You want me to go on?
YES YES YES YES PLEASE GO ON. Maybe someone will hear you, some folk that ‘live by’ CNN news might actually hear what is really happening.
shooter on December 7, 2006 at 7:13 PM
Are you telling me that Jack Cafferty is anything other than an open borders leftard???
EF on December 7, 2006 at 7:25 PM
I would like to know if Gov. Richardson is a card carrying member of Mecha, and/or La Raza. Is he also for Reconquista? “For the race, everything, for all others, nothing!” “Si puede Si!” “Si puede Si!” “Si puede Si!”
What a piece of human debris! Didn’t he take an oath of office to defend this country? I mean the United States of America, NOT the Republic of Mexico!
PinkyBigglesworth on December 7, 2006 at 7:28 PM
Go on. Lay it out. Democrats have the gavel. I hope that it is not too heavy for them to lift. They think that they are listening to the American People. Then, do What the American people think and get your ass handed over to you on 2008.
Ouabam on December 7, 2006 at 7:32 PM
Finally, Cafferty says something right. Congrats to him for pulling out the plugs.
amerpundit on December 7, 2006 at 7:35 PM
Actually, Pinky, the name of our neighbor to the south is not ‘the Republic of Mexico’, but ‘Estados Unidos Mexicanos’, literally “United Mexican States”, or arguably “The United States of Mexico”.
Convenient, isn’t it? It’ll make it easier to incorporate all 81 states and 2 Districts together. But I doubt we’ll make the Canadian provinces and territories change their names to ’states’; we already have several ‘commonwealths’. Biggest problem with them is that whole monarchy thing.
The Monster on December 7, 2006 at 7:46 PM
Cafferty and Lou Dobbs have always had it right on the border and have it wrong just about everywhere else.
MaiDee on December 7, 2006 at 8:07 PM
Cafferty is Deranged!
Richardson (my Governor) is likely a VP candidate and can aid the Dems in their bid for 08. he runs my state very well despite some obvious misguided views… he should not be underestimated.
Opinionnation on December 7, 2006 at 8:19 PM
PM
Ditto
If you get real close to your TV, you can see
the spittle glistening on Cafferty’s mean thin lips.
Janos Hunyadi on December 7, 2006 at 8:29 PM
We need allies anywhere we can get them.
Valiant on December 7, 2006 at 8:57 PM
Richardson is the reason several members of my family have moved to Arizona from New Mexico. Don’t even start with how he runs the state. He’s a disgrace. Some clips from speeches at his own website:
Law abiding, except…STOP RIGHT THERE! Any except, and they are NOT law abiding. Period. Almost all have come here to work means, at best, that not all have. If I thought I could build a better life for myself by sneaking into Germany, would I be less of a criminal than if I snuck into Germany to defraud their social system? No.
His solution is to legalize them all and let them be in the open. There, no more shadows, all is well.
They don’t pay taxes unless they have an illegal Social Security number, in which case they have another crime to their names. The vast majority of illegals take far, far more in welfare than they “contribute”.
Wrong, the RINOs lost, and the RINOs were responsible for the Democrats regaining control.
Richardson is hardcore pro-amnesty, and as a border governor that is completely anti-American. Every bit of his rhetoric regarding illegal immigration is bait-and-switch about how mean you must be to oppose lawbreakers. He uses the standard misnomer of anti-immigrant for those who disagree, when that is blatantly not true. It’s anti-illegal that we are, and what we’ll stay.
Freelancer on December 7, 2006 at 9:26 PM
It looks to me like he said the public wants it, not him personally. And Dobbs has run it into the ground so much it’s become a joke.
Scot on December 7, 2006 at 9:28 PM
Richardson has been running a stealth campaign for President (He might settle for VP) since about a year before he started running for Governor the first time, and now that he has been re-elected, he no longer needs to pretend that he cares about the actual citizens of New Mexico.
Yeah, right he has been running New Mexico very well… Running it into the ground, putting our children and grandchildren in debt for his silly projects like his trains, planes and spaceports, (well, the spaceport MIGHT pay off, but I doubt it.) ‘Robbing Peter to pay Paul’, supporting corruption and incompetence, using state jobs to pay off political debts. In other words; New Mexico politics as usual.
That new jet of his is about useless for governing New Mexico, but it will sure be handy for running for President.
The only difference between him and the usual NM democrat politicians is that EVERYTHING he does is directed toward enhancing his image nationally (and internationally) for higher office rather than MERELY enriching himself and his friends.
Clintonian (Although he was like that long before anyone ever heard of Bill Clinton) in his ability to convince normally rational people that he is sort of a middle-of-the-roader, good-for-business sort of guy, he manages to ‘have his cake and eat it too’ on every subject.
Personally, I don’t see how he does it. When I first met him 20 + years ago, I was, shall we say, somewhat less than impressed, and haven’t had any reason to change my mind since.
LegendHasIt on December 7, 2006 at 9:50 PM
Govie Richardson is in violation of the truth in advertising laws, we already know how destrutive he’s been behind the scenes.

That Richardson would have the gaul to publicly try to tear down an impediment to Hispanic invasion should be no great surprise.
Best scenario solution? Removal from office.

Riiiiiiiiip!
Jimmy Carter on December 7, 2006 at 9:54 PM
I suppose Richardson doesn’t have locks on his house?
Or doors, or any other obstruction to those who are otherwise law-abiding but who want to come in and live in his home, eat his food, and are so nice they’ll do the dishes afterwards.
What a pandering little weasel.
The Chinese build a wall centuries ago.
And, surprise, surprise, they are still Chinese.
If the U.S.’s borders are not controlled, then they are out of control.
Do I pay taxes to have the government betray me?
Or have those who violate their oath of office to Defend the Constitution, like Richardson, leech on our tab?
If they don’t do what they swear to, I want my IRS money back.
I’ll invest it in something in the 30.06 neighborhood.
And at least have something to show for my apparently gullible following of our nation’s laws.
Which our government officials seem to think is no longer necessary.
As long as you have a good heart as you rob us.
profitsbeard on December 7, 2006 at 10:17 PM
Great theatre: a butt-licking buffoon like Cafferty shoving something sharp up Richardson’s fat stinker. The stupid look on Richardson’s face is worth the effort.
Heh.
Jaibones on December 7, 2006 at 10:32 PM
In a word: priceless. I can’t imagine Richardson thought he would face hostile opposition on CNN - a place he should have felt among friends.
If you haven’t read the following post from above, please do. In fact, it’s worth re-reading:
Good one, Freelancer.
thedecider on December 7, 2006 at 10:55 PM
He is also my governor, and I know for a fact he has been running for President since before the last election. Take a look at his schedule for the past few years, and see how much time he has spent in New Mexico.
Richardson is a political hack, with delusions of grandeur. The only good thing I can say about him is that he was an infinitely better Secretary of Energy than his predecessor, Witch Hazel.
rmgraha on December 7, 2006 at 11:15 PM
Imagine what would happen if a caucasion Presidential candidate said, “I am White, which I believe is an asset,” “But I’m not running as a White, I am running as an American who is proud to be White.”
Dear Lord… it would be bedlam!

He may be a hack … I don’t support him. but he and his ability to garner the Hispanic vote should not be dismissed

CAFFERTY really put the issue up front and accurately, wish he would have gone on, this is the frank controntation we need!

Heh. Imagine …
* WET - White Entertainment Television
* Congressional White Caucus Foundataion
* National Council of LaRaza Blanco
* …
… bedlam indeed.

Especialy the part about RINOs losing the election.

Thanks, Ian, that was great.
I was looking forward to it for hours ever since I sat it from our work lunch room computer (no audio, hence, no video).
That was just rich.
Christoph on December 8, 2006 at 2:14 AM
That was rich. I think that’s the only thing I have ever agreed with Cafferty on. Millions of Americans are sick and tired of having illegals (I don’t care where they’re from) telling us what rights they want.
Catie96706 on December 8, 2006 at 2:28 AM
Dammit! Where is my
slaveillegal alien? I don’t see anyslaveillegal aliens cleaning up my home, taking care of my kids…. I’m being disenfrancised! Wahhhh!I think what he is saying is that he wants the ‘cheap’ (read: just above slave) workforce who takes care of his (and the other elite’s) homes and children, and yards, and offices.
CrazyFool on December 8, 2006 at 8:20 AM
Is this NOT the same Bill Richardson that had to pull some emergency crap a few months ago to put the national guard on the border because of the illegals, ummmm????
thebookkeeper on December 8, 2006 at 9:56 AM
Richardson is part of the problem, not a part of the solution. Plus he’s an ignorant fool. Cafferty = even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Griz on December 8, 2006 at 10:25 AM
And this clown Richardson seems to share the same views with our poor excuse of a President.
Jonesy on December 8, 2006 at 10:39 AM
Brit Hume reported that the never-to-be-escaped Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame were moving to New Mexico to help Richardson with his Presidential campaign!
Titanic…meet iceberg.
heldmyw on December 8, 2006 at 10:49 AM
Do you guys have the whole video of that segment available to watch?? I would like to see Richardson’s response…
