Video: Iraq Study group seems worried that a reporter might be from Fox

(hat tip to Ms. Underestimated for sending the clip)

During the coverage of today’s Iraq Surrender Study Group press conference, you could hear a member whispering “she’s from Fox” as a reporter stepped up to ask a question. Another member reacts as though working for Fox News is a bad thing.

The big picture here is why did they note she was from Fox? Does it make a difference? As Ms. U notes, why should it matter if she WAS from Fox?

By the way, the reporter’s name is Pam Hess and she works for UPI as a Pentagon correspondent. The ISG got that wrong–what else did they get wrong? Maybe the Iranians can help them get things straight.

Pam Hess is pretty well known to even casual observers of the Iraq war. Ian’s right, if they didn’t know who she was, then it’s a pretty good bet they don’t know what they’re talking about overall.

“She’s an infidel whore and we should chat once we’ve stoned her to death!”

I suppose if you are used to getting softball questions from other news sources and real questions from Fox News reporters then there is a good reason to alert everyone when you think a Fox reporter is getting ready to ask a question. Get people back on their toes.

WHEW!!

For a minute I thought someone said “She’s a fox”..Not..”She’s FROM Fox”…

The ISJ was/is a joke and the “report” isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

Cooties!! She’s got cooties!!

It is like the 9/11 commission, the agenda is all important.

TwinkietheKid on December 6, 2006 at 8:24 PM

OOOPS!

That should read ISG instead of ISJ

PIMF!

ROFLMAO! That really tickled me! That is about their mentality.

“Careful…she’s from FOX…she’ll ask a *gasp* relevant question”.

How silly and, frankly, it was hardly even a whisper. I love the smell of fear.

thedecider on December 6, 2006 at 8:44 PM

I didn’t really take it as anything but noting that she is from Fox, they may have been trying to make sure that there was fair representation in the media..Secondly…look at Bakers age, for him to remember where she was from is probably quite a feat…I didn’t detect any tone of disrespect towards Fox.

Maybe they like chicks with glasses and were saying, “She’s a fox. She’s a fox!)

O.K. Maybe not.

While all eyes are on resignations, appointments, study groups, and reports, I wonder what, if anything, President Bush is up to. I hope he’s “up to no good,” but I know, by now, not to imagine that my instincts and his coincide.

I wish we could play out an alternate scenario in which I’ve been Commander in Chief from the beginning. Imagine the Left with real work to do, like organizing candlelight vigils to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the destruction of Kabul and Baghdad. Meanwhile, President Kralizec and a select group of my friends would be atop the Kaaba with a hibachi, feasting on barbecued pork ribs.

That is not the smell of fear. It’s the smell of “crap” in their pants due to “fear”. OOPs, forgot to put on the “Depends” this morning.

My guess? One of the Fox News Foxes was indeed there, and these guys were checking her out.

More proof of what Rush calls “Blue Blood Republicans”.

May I say… *ahem* SCREW THE SYSTEM.

Hehe, you can always tell when a post is from Ian. His strikethrus are always so politically incorrect :). I miss The Political Teen/Expose the Left :(.

Fox News should immediately make up some grotesquely large flashing neon FN logo pins for reporters to wear on their lapels.

The Ugly American on December 6, 2006 at 11:49 PM

…it’s delightful seeing country-club Republicans discomoded by the very thought of actually having to talk to the “help”. They were probably aghast that she might not respect their “persons”.

What a frightful and motley gaggle of museum pieces….

We need some red-blooded candidates for these red-state voters…these blue-bloods are screwing things up by the numbers.

“Careful…she’s from FOX…she’ll ask a *gasp* relevant question”.

From Fox?! She probably associates with Cavuto … Careful … she might label us disingenuous, or even liars

AZ_Redneck on December 7, 2006 at 12:32 AM

My Mom says there are a lot of conservatives at FOX.

It’s good to know that a network can not only ask relevent questions, but ask them so often as to scare the bejezus out of the Official Washington groups. That is great.

Keep it up Fox News, your doing a great job.

Snake307 on December 7, 2006 at 2:34 AM

Liberals have more contempt for FoxNews than Al-Jazeera.

If your pissing off liberals, then you know you’re on the right track. Keep up the good work Fox.

natesnake on December 7, 2006 at 8:44 AM

Thank you, Iraq Study Group, for proving the Fox News Channel is the most feared and most powerful name in news.

You can’t buy that kind of publicity.

Black Adam on December 7, 2006 at 10:38 AM

it’s interesting that they’re lauhing about her being from fox. I wonder how UPI feels about having one of their reporters laughed at.

One Angry Christian on December 7, 2006 at 2:36 PM

She’s from fox! Quick turn off the mic. Ha Ha the mic is off Ha Ha, Oh crap she’s talking anyway now what do we do?

Gwillie on December 7, 2006 at 2:46 PM

I couldn’t help but laugh. If they did indeed turn off her mic then it does show that FOX News is feared because God forbid they might ask a tough question that doesn’t rhyme with softball questions from the rest of the MSM.
